It's hilarious that everyone will wear the 80s stretchy pants as long as they're called leggings with oversized shirts as long as their called tunics. But stirrup pants is where the line is drawn.
Excuse me, I do not ever wear anything resembling leggings.

edit- oh wait I see, floods .. no they are full Length leggings, I put on ankle boots and walk around and the leggings inch up slowly and a sort of bunched look forms
Do they hit right above the ankle bone (like a bootie) or are they proper ankle boots that actually cover the ankle? If they hit right at the bone your shoes are the problem not your leggings. The friction from the shoe moving while you walk is making the leggings ride up because they hit at about the same place on your ankle.
If I remember 1988 correctly, the downside of stirrup pants was that they left like an air gap straight pant thing around your knees. I don’t even know how to describe this to anyone who didn’t live through it. I had stirrup JEANS once. The humanity.

One pair is short ankle boot, the other is more proper ankle boots. It’s definitely worse with the shorter boot!

Yeah so I think the real stirrup pants 80 style wouldn’t work because the gaps are too big .. I don’t want to show any skin. But the style tricky bob posted is probably more what I need

I've seen Instagramer fashionista types wearing and recommending them (and wearing them with flats even, which isn't a look I am crazy for). They're definitely back. It feels really weird to see the things you wore as a kid make a comeback.

Omg, yes! They went straight down from your widest thighpoint to your ankle bones. No buts!

But I would not wear the crush velvet/ baby doll/ little house on the prairie style bullshit I wore in 1990 any more that I would wear those ridiculous stirrup pants. Even though those things could be called leggings and tunics. So even though there are similarities, there are enough style differences that you should be drawing a line, lol
