Does anyone have a plan where they still have their US Sim Card active for traveling, etc.? My company was paying for my original plan and my local plan, but now my boss is asking to deactivate the US Sim. Problem is that my local phone has never worked internationally. Plus everyone has my US number so I would just flip that back on while I was traveling or back in the states.
I am going back for a business trip and need to address what my plan going forward will be. I've heard there are some good options with google voice, but I was wanting to use my old iPhone as my secondary phone. Also, the goal would be to keep my current US number. It is currently with AT&T, but I should be out of contract timeframe.

I have a SIM card for the US, and another one for the country I live in. I just switch them out depending on where I am. Day to day here I use my local one, but when I travel outside the country or to the US I pop my US one back in (our US provider has an international plan that's $10 per day which is fine for short trips; on the other hand my local plan here is SUPER expensive as soon as I leave the country).
I think the newest iPhone actually has a dual-SIM option where you can have two numbers active at the same time.

This is what we do as well! We have a T-Mobile sim card. While we're out of the US, we set it to Pay as you Go, and when we are in the US, we'll subscribe to a data plan. Usually if we top up 100 USD, the number will stay active for 1 full year. It's pretty easy and we haven't had any issues.
