Is this where I share my disbelief that a neighbor was out in his pj's with a leaf blower at SIX-THIRTY IN THE MORNING, clearing leaves in his driveway that had been shaken loose in a storm overnight.
I get up at 5:30 and wake the kids up at 6:20 anyway, but I was annoyed with that.
If you're going to go out and blow leaves, why not put real clothes on?
Who wants dirt and leaves on their pajamas? Those go in your bed!

Yes, after much thought (it was a slow commute that morning), I also landed on that being the most WTF part of it. He spends a lot of time on his yard so it's not surprising, but put on actual clothes!
I realize that the point is moot, I just think of noisy yard stuff as more from the landscapers rather than just gardeners. But that may be a regional thing. Here, landscapers do both gardening and lawn care, using things that make noise, and gardeners only do just gardening and I have never seen a gardener with noisy equipment.
regardless, if you are telling your gardeners not to come before 7 or 7:30 then they suck for coming before that.
I would be most annoyed that you asked the people you hired to come at a specific time, and they aren’t following your request. We’ve just moved and I’m not sure what time the landscapers come but since it’s part of the HOA, I don’t really feel like I can request a specific time. At our old house I told the lawn crew to come after 3 (when my son woke from nap) and they accommodated that.

They consistently came at 7:30 for awhile after the first time I spoke with them.
But, slowly but surely, they started coming a little earlier and earlier...as if I wouldn't notice.

Well aren’t they sneaky. If they are waking your children, or interrupting your only quiet 30 minutes of the day, I’d ask them again to come at 7:30 and then say if that’s not possible you will look for someone who can come at that time. I don’t wake up before my son, but that’s why nap time was so important for me- I needed that quiet time.

I'm in AZ, and our landscapers are usually here by 7/7:30am when they come. It drives me nuts, because it's a lot of noise so early in the morning, but I know they have a lot of other houses to do before it gets to be scorching hot outside. I don't blame them one bit for starting as early as they can.
Otherwise, I would say the later the better. I voted for 9am.

8 AM for most weekdays I think is fine (earlier if it's a super hot climate or even here in the Midwest on our 100+ days in the summer). DH and I were out by 8:30 this morning mowing and trimming.
I will say our garbage truck comes every Tuesday AM at 6-6:10 AM without fail. I mean, I get it, they have a route they need to finish each day. During the school year, I am up already; in the summer, it typically wakes me up on Tuesdays. Landscape/lawn companies hired by my neighbors also start by 7 usually in the summer months.
8:30? Here, people start as early as 7am and I shake my head. But then again, we live in the South so summer time is brutal.
Yeah, I appreciate the need to do this stuff while it's still cool.
I've asked my gardeners repeatedly not to come until 7:30 or at least 7:00, yet they keep starting at 6:30.
I wanted to confirm whether my request was reasonable.
In our town, no commercial work can be done before 7am or after 6pm weekdays, and 9am to 5pm Saturday, no work on Sunday. They can get a ticket for violating it. Homeowners can mow lawns from 7am to 11pm, and day, though it is well known your neighbors will hate you, if you do it too early or late.
Yard work 7/8 during the week. We try to do later on the weekends if the heat allows. During the winter snow blowers are going a lot earlier than I'd like (I hate getting up extra early to deal with it) - you have to dig out before you can leave for work.
If I was paying someone to do the yard - I wouldn't be happy if they kept showing up earlier than scheduled. Is it possible to get them to swap your slot in their rotation so they go somewhere else for the super early time?

i wear new pjs every night. So morning pjs are fair game for whatever lol.
I think the ordinance here is 7 a.m. but I voted for 8 a.m. because that's civil. We had a neighbor building a retaining wall this winter and their contractors would regularly roll in at 6:45 and let their trucks idle. Rage.
I am up at 5 during the week, but I voted for 8am. My kids occasionally sleep until 8am and if I had a more typical schedule, I wouldn't be out of bed until 7ish. It would really piss me off if someone doing yard work was waking up my kids on the regular.
Anything before 8 is against ordinance and good neighborly behavior unless it's an emergency. I guess I'd rather it be earlier during the week, though, than on the weekend.
I said 7, but I live in Southwest Texas and it can be up to 90 by 10 AM. So if you have the average size yard that I see it will take at least an hour to mow and usually another hour to trim and clean up. So I would rather see someone out at 7 in the morning than have to end up doing this at noon.
When I lived in a house I always found myself doing it at noon, which was terrible and I almost ended up with heat stroke more than once. Yes, I am a slow learner.
