I think HoarseWhisperer’s theory on Twitter about overspending on ads by the Bernie campaign (Devine) in areas (like NY) where HRC was heavily favored or in area that would matter a lot in the general election to “dirty her up” to the voters there sounds worth it for some reporters to look into.

Hmm. She did say the person was not a Republican and that some of her evidence was certainly out in the public realm - she was just able to use other things she knew to put it all together and determine the individual was working for Russia.

Twitter is saying that Putin floated the idea of a referendum on Crimea...so you know, they could vote on it & Putin could swing the election, like is his usual practice.  If the vote passes, then it's legitimate & Russia can claim Crimea "legally" and the US/NATO/EU won't be able to say Russia stole it and slap sanctions on them.

I think you are missing this - he's trying to give credit to the Democrats for stopping this. That's a good thing. Scott and Rubio may have switched teams to stop it too, but it wouldn't have happened if the Democrats hadn't tried to block his nomination, then made sure the broadcast this guy's record.

That's one of the reasons I think there hasn't been more D outrage - some of them are just as dirty or worried. (I.E. BERNIE!) but probably tons of other lower level and minor people, and maybe some big players too. I have no doubt that as deep as this goes & as many years back as Russia has been trying to cultivate these inroads, there are people on both sides.....just those on the GOP side are a little more greedy/stupid/desperate.

President Donald Trump has asked national security adviser John Bolton to invite Russian President Vladimir Putin to Washington in the fall.

That’s the latest update Thursday from White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders following Trump’s meeting with Putin earlier this week in Finland.

Sanders says “those discussions are already underway” for a fall meeting between the two presidents.

It presumably would take place at the White House, but Sanders did not say where Trump and Putin would meet.

In a tweet about Putin earlier Thursday, Trump said, “I look forward to our second meeting.”

CNN also just flew this a few minutes ago.

Do we know yet who the guy is that Maria Butina was living with? The guy who thought Butina was his girlfriend and helped her get a U-Haul, when really she was just a spy pretending to be his girlfriend? I am really surprised that hasn't come out yet.
