Doesn’t it mess up your battery if you never let your phone die? So really, I’m just being responsible.
That's a myth.
I don't know that I believe it, but I read that letting it drain completely actually shortens the life of the battery.
If my battery level is below 70 and I happen to notice, if I am near a charger) I will plug it in. More often it is under 40% when I notice, but I don't let it die.
Batteries of today are not like those of the past. It's fine to let them die and it's fine to leave them basically plugged in all of the time. The battery will discharge slightly and recharge even when plugged in.
Also, the battery life number on your phone is not a very accurate representation of your actual battery level.
Finally, to answer the question, I charge my phone at night or in the car while using navigation. I rarely notice what the battery level actually is.

I have a charger at my desk so it's plugged in/above 80% all day, and I always charge it all the way before a Target shift so I know it won't die while I'm on the clock. We have multiple chargers both upstairs and downstairs at home though so I'm more lax there.
ETA: I got used to always having my phone on me when my dad was sick and I still have that anxiety that something might happen if I'm without it for any period of time. I know it's kind of irrational.
And as above poster said, batteries nowadays, it really doesn't matter if you have them plugged in for hours upon hours, or you let it drain all the time. It may have been true on older batteries, but that alone doesn't make it rapidly deteriorate or anything.
Generally, I charge it when I go to bed. It’s usually in the teens or twenties when I go to bed. Sometimes if I’m listening to certain radio apps and pandora all day, I charge it when it gets down to twenties or thirties in the afternoon.
I usually plug my phone in to charge when I'm in my car, unless it's already at 100%.
I charge it on my bedside table while I sleep.
And... I keep a charged power stick in my purse for emergencies.
It rarely gets below 50%, and I'm always able to charge it back up. I'm also due to replace the battery with Apple's $29 deal, because I ended up with one of the iPhone models that has had battery issues. It drains pretty fast.
During the week when DS is at school is when I'm anxious about it draining. DH works out of town, and I'm a SAHM so I can be the person who picks him up when he's sick, etc. It wouldn't go down well if I let my phone die and DH had to leave work, and then drive past our hometown to pick up DS. (DS also attends school in a different town.) On weekends I am not as anal about keeping it charged, but still never let it die.
It has never occurred to me to be worried about this, lol. It rarely actually dies but I use it all day and most of the evening so it’s almost never fully charged. I’d guess 40 percent is pretty average. I do turn on the low battery mode if it’s under 35 or so and I’m somewhere I can’t charge easily. I do also carry a solar charger and have battery banks around in a total emergency.
15 to 20% range. But if there is stormy weather predicted, I plug it in regardless of current battery because we frequently lose power. Having a fully charged cell eases that inconvenience slightly.
Fast wireless charging is awesome. My panic level depends on my plans for the day (or remains of the day)- I don't freak when I see 30% and I'm on my way home- but, I wouldn't be happy driving off with that percentage of battery left (which is dumb- we have fast charging in the car, too). I forgot to put my phone on the charger the other night, woke to 14%- and had a full charge by the time I was showered/dressed.
