I'm not too worked up about a motorized curtain for a diplomat's NY apartment.
I had a college friend whose father was her country's ambassador to the UN, and I went to their apartment in NY. t was not really a home for the diplomat. The whole thing is basically a diplomacy office with some bedrooms. It had offices, a professional restaurant style kitchen, with refrigerators that were off-limits to my friend because they kept the food for the various diplomatic dinners that were regularly held at the apartment.
These people are constantly entertaining and constantly working in all rooms of their house. Their need to be discrete or not discrete may change on a dime, and they are in a confined space where neighbors can easily see in. Motorized curtains are not a big deal. There's serious corruption going on, we shouldn't be worrying about this.
Eh, it's funny because of the excuse they gave. It's just another thing to talk about. We're capable or worrying about several things at once.
Agreed, the explanation is just so ridiculous. I'm pretty sure when they are hosting all these diplomatic dinners there is more staff than just a part time maid. So it's even more of a non issue.
Here's some additional info about where she lives. The top diplomat traditionally lived at the Waldorf Astoria penthouse, which was $135K per month, until the Chinese bought it in 2015.
She does have a LOT of windows and one very cute doodle.
Although I never do this, I am going down the Seth Abramsom hole today. It just feels appropriate. See ya’ll in 23 years when he finished ups with 3, 245 tweet.

Edit- I already got bored lol.
I love how he finishes up his string of 20 posts.... and then adds ps1, ps2, ps3, ps4... and just keeps on talking, lol
I'm seeing conflicting reports on what the cooperation agreement includes. CNN says it includes anything related to the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, but NPRs says it does NOT include matters related to the campaign. Doesn't seem like both of those could be correct.
I fully admit that I don’t get this lawyering stuff. But if Mueller is involved... how is it not Trump related? I mean I get that maybe Manafort is just implicating someone lower on the food chain, but isn’t this all part of the same case?
I swear the past couple years have made me feel so stupid. I have had to do so many deep dives that I have never cared about in the past!

He has to cooperate with any investigation the government deems appropriate - this means not only the Special Counsel's office, but any Department of Justice prosecutor.
If they are building a case for conspiracy against Trump Jr. and Kushner for the Trump tower meeting, they just got their cooperating witness.

The charges that he now no longer faces (except the two in this particular case, and the 8 he was found guilty on in the other) did not directly relate to his work on the Trump campaign, rather, years of work on behalf of the Ukrainian government, as well as ties to the Kremlin, and the money laundering, tax evasion....all of those crimes.
The Special Counsel has the power to charge people even if it does not have to do with the campaign and the election. That's why Trump's finances are a big deal, the fact that they have been investigating them. He is facing scrutiny for his entire financial life.
With that said, in the cooperation agreement, it is made clear that Manafort has no choice but to cooperate with the government in any other proceeding they ask him to cooperate in. That's the key here. If there are charges forthcoming, and he has relevant info he will either have to testify, give up documents, emails, you name it, he has to give it up. He will be asked to implicate other people. He has to do all of this even without a lawyer present, however if he asks for one to be present in writing, the Special Counsel will allow him that right.
If he had cooperated from the very beginning, like Michael Flynn, he would not be in this big of a predicament.
Emily Jane Fox of Vanity Fair always has the inside scoop on Michael Cohen and she says he's also talking to Mueller now and "his loyalty to Trump is no longer his lodestar." There's that lodestar word again.
Patrick Kennedy, a top State Department official under the Obama administration, defended the purchase to the Times, noting that Haley only has one part-time staffer at the residence.
“All she’s got is a part-time maid, and the ability to open and close the curtains quickly is important,” Kennedy told the newspaper.
For that salary, I would live there and open and close the curtains whenever someone asked, if that was my only job. I realize how hard it can be for someone so powerful to walk over to a window once in a while.
Let me reiterate: THE COST OF THESE FUCKING CURTAINS IS MORE THAN I MAKE IN A YEAR.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
Michael Cohen Is the Latest Former Trump Ally to Talk to Mueller
In the wake of Manafort’s plea deal, sources confirm that it is now common knowledge among Cohen’s inner circle that Trump’s former lawyer has been in contact with the special counsel’s office.
But here’s the thing, pointed out by journalist Marcy Wheeler on her personal site: The Mueller probe may have just paid for itself.
Why? Because part of the plea agreement reached between Mueller and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort includes forfeiture of certain property to the government. While it’s not clear how much value will be extracted from that forfeiture, there’s reason to think that it could more than pay for what Mueller has incurred so far.

When they lock up dipshit and his bumbling family, maybe we can recoup some of those weekend golf course expenditures.
45’s Twitter is awfully quiet. Does he usually retweet stuff?
23 Tweets from FEMA/re: Florence over the last ~24-36 hours might be a record for him. Maybe the last 24 hours of bad press he's gotten re: Puerto Rico are actually bugging him after all. (Heh, I can't even type that with a straight face, of course they're bugging him).
