greengables, it is so, so hard. TBH, with my son and now, I had a ton of anxiety before each appointment, just waiting for the other shoe to drop. That is actually the reason I got and used the doppler, but I know that's not great for everyone.

I'm so sorry. PGAL is terrible.
Thank you. I have a Doppler but haven’t let myself use it yet. I might try after tomorrow’s appointment if all goes well (that way if I can’t find a heartbeat I will know that at least there was one earlier in the day). But I should probably wait until 12 weeks or so....

Like I said, this is one thing where you have to know yourself. With DS, I couldn't find him until roughly 13-14 weeks. With this pregnancy, I found baby girl at about 12 weeks. Since I knew it took forever with DS, I was less worried when I couldn't find her. But I could easily see it going the other way, you know?
My OB doesn't like it because he feels it gives people a false sense of security. They can't detect what's normal/abnormal and then ignore other signs because they hear a hb. But I'm too neurotic for that, lol.

I definitely don’t think I need to worry about having a false sense of security during this pregnancy 😉 I will wait awhile longer before I try the Doppler though!

Lol, right? Trust me, doc, I'm analyzing EVERY twinge.
2. Baby has flipped! My OB did a quick scan in the office on Tuesday and she was head down, yay! The only disconcerting thing is that I couldn't even guess when she did actually flip, so I worry she could do it again, but I'm hoping she just stays this way! I do feel like I can tell her little feet are a bit more often at the top now, so hopefully I can keep track of how she is positioned a little better.
My coworkers are throwing me a shower tonight, even though we will likely be very busy and it will be kind of come and go, I'm so grateful to the girls who organized it and am really looking forward to it. They know I drink a lot of tea so there is a half tea theme (tea/coffee bar with little sandwiches, and I just made a bunch of scones to bring too), but also when they were asking what kind of food I would want (before they told me the tea idea) I was like umm chips and salsa and guac? So we will have those things too, haha, very much a preggo-craving kind of food selection!
3. Definitely none. That wasn't intentional, at first I wasn't doing anything because it was an IVF transfer and they told me to take it easy, then I did try running again right about 7 weeks and had a bleeding scare a couple days later that had me crying and swearing not to run again if it meant keeping my baby. I did try running again once more when I got closer to the halfway point and started feeling more secure, but by then my belly was throwing me off and felt really weird and I had some sharpish pains that made me stop pretty quick and just walk after that. Since then my exercise has been all the walking I do at work, basically, and stretches when I wake up for my back (and I guess the handful of inversions I was doing last week to try and get baby to flip).
4. I don't watch much live TV, we mostly do Netflix but also have sling. We watched the Good Place on netflix and really like it, so maybe that? My H LOVES Bob's Burgers, and we both like Brooklyn 99 a lot. I also am looking forward to the next season of Broad City, though I'm not sure when it is.
Any tips from PGAL ladies about how to relax before appointments? I have an ultrasound tomorrow at the exact point in pregnancy (10w4d) when I had a previous loss. I’m scared of both not seeing a heartbeat and of seeing a heartbeat but them finding the same abnormalities we saw before the loss (the heartbeat had stopped when we went in for a cvs after finding several severe issues a few days before). I keep trying to tell myself “for today I’m pregnant and am going to enjoy it” but it doesn’t seem to be working....
I had a loss before my daughter #1 and a loss before daughter #2. It's hard. It gets easier when you start feeling them move. I got a doppler and used it till I start feeling definite movement.

How early did you start using the doppler?
i got it a few days before my 12w appointment because i was anxious they weren't going to find a heartbeat. i'm not sure if it's recommended that early though.
