I am pretty sure I have it. If you were screened as an adult, how much did it cost? I don't think insurance covers it.
My PCP had me do the survey in a regular visit. I was diagnosed with ADHD, but I was also new to being on lexapro for anxiety and depression, so he said it wasn't definitive. (My meds needed to be at the correct level, but I was still struggling with focus, so he did that screening.)
This was 5 years ago and I've kind of blown it off. But reading this thread, I'm realizing it was probably correct. There are times I feel so flighty and unfocused, it's almost alarming. I'm having a lot of anxiety right now because of some really big life changes and it's really exacerbating the ADHD symptoms. I did a 2 minute breathing exercise at work the other day because my heart felt like it was racing and I fell asleep before the 2 minutes were over. I never realized one of the reasons I'm so tired is that I'm just trying to make it through the day in one piece. Obviously this is a unique circumstance, but these aren't new symptoms, just much more noticeable.
and just to share my day and how the ADD and depression mix together, I took 3 naps today. THREE. That is flippin ridiculous.
I have sat down at my desk to start paying bills for the week no less than 6 times and have yet to pay a single one. I will sit down, look at the mess on my desk, get overwhelmed and walk away. Then I will go in the living room to watch some TV but can only sit there for maybe 5 minutes. Then I get up and walk around the house aimlessly, go to the bathroom for the 8 millionth time even though I do not have to pee, go look in the fridge even though I am not hungry, maybe pick up my phone and check it for no reason.........This is the cycle that I deal with on a daily basis and it sucks.
With my dr's help, I started another new ADHD med this past Wednesday and I have been recording all my activities and sleep. Needless to say, I can tell already that this one is not the winner.

I think my insurance covered it and I had a specialist copay (so $40). My PCP did a screening (basically a questionnaire where I did a self-eval, and DH evaluated me) and then my PCP sent on a referral.

This is good to know. I was tested when I was younger for learning disabilities, but I don't think this ever came up. But, I have had depression and anxiety issues and i do have trouble focusing on tasks and using my time well.
Thank you for making this post. It was the push I needed to call for an evaluation. It sounds dramatic, but this could be life changing. Thank you for putting this out there.
Hey, thanks everyone for talking about this. I have been realizing in the past few weeks that I think I may have ADHD too. DH almost certainly does, though it's officially undiagnosed. I just took this hilarious but on point self test video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iozAFIr3BEw and scored well over 100. I also scored high on this one: www.additudemag.com/adhd-symptoms-test-adults/ Also, I just bought a fidget cube and I love it. I am such a fidgeter and I bite my fingers, hopefully I can change that by redirecting my fidgeting.

A 21 minute video for someone who thinks they might have ADHD? Lol ok. I made it 3 minutes in. How many points is that?
