Hi, all! I had my first ultrasound and I’m officially 6 weeks and 2 days. I had a late term loss of a baby girl this Spring, preceded by many years of infertility, so I’m just a bit nervous. If anyone has hints of keeping calm until the anatomy scan (where everything went to hell last time), I’m all ears!
Hi welcome! I'm just a couple of days ahead of you (6w5d) and very much understand your fears. Just keep taking it one day at a time, that's about the only advice I got.

Welcome! I’m 33w, after TFMR at 13w and 11w—and then 18 months of IVF to try to avoid another chromosomal issue. It’s such a mindf*ck.
The way I got through was to focus on immediate milestones. Just get to the next appt. just get to 8w. Just get out of first tri. Just get to the NIPT. etc. I felt much better once I was in 2nd tri, mentally and physically, but I do still have some anxiety. Completely normal. Lots of good folks to listen here, so please post whenever you feel like it and or need support!

And congrats! You are pregnant!
Thank you so much for the welcome. That is such a perfect description -- mind*ck.
We had a TFMR at 24 weeks after a disastrous anatomy scan. It was such a nightmare. I've been assured by our doctor at the Children's Hospital (where we were sent after the initial diagnosis) that I can go up there at 17 weeks for a fetal echo to (hopefully) rule out any recurrence. But geez...17 weeks seem so far away!
Do you know when the earliest would be to do the NIPT? I haven't met with my doctor yet, but he had assured me at my last appt that we could do all testing as soon as possible. I'm not allowing myself to google anything medically related.
At my first appointment the doctor gave me some paperwork about genetic testing options, and that said the earliest that NIPT should be done is 10 weeks.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Both times NIPT was done around 11 weeks or so, and we had the results in about a week. Hopefully the results will give you a little piece of mind, but I know it usually just feels like you're waiting for the next hurdle.

And congrats to you, too.
I am so sorry. TFMR is so hard, not only because of all the obvious reasons, but because of the societal pressures and lack of understanding. I hate that you had to go through it, especially so late. I didn’t really exhale this time until after the anatomy scan. You will get through it, but I’m sure it will be hard. Happy to talk in here or offline any time.
I’m so glad they are taking an early look. They actually could see all four chambers when I did my anatomy scan this time at 18w; I went for fetal echo two weeks later, but it was so helpful to know early that at least it had formed correctly. I hope they can get a good look for you! I’m sure they can at a fetal echo; more powerful and a more knowledgeable specialist.
As far as NIPT, I believe they say 10w, but my practice made me wait till 11w. I guess they can come back inconclusive at 10w, so they want to avoid that.
There is a newish NIPT that looks at all 23 chromosomes: MaterniT21 Genome. It wasn’t available for my first 3 pregnancies, so I did cvs. This time I decided that NIPT genome was a good first step, but only bc they wouldn’t do the early cvs I wanted! (My doctor had retired...)
You might see if they will do it at 10w3d or something, if they won’t do it at 10.
