1. How far along are you this week? 30w4d. 3/4 of the way there!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Baby seems to enjoy taking long naps in the middle of the day, and it stresses me out because she ends up spending a good chunk of the day not moving around. Then, right as I start getting really worried, she starts dancing around again in the evening. I can already tell that she's going to be a troublemaker. lol.
3. Questions for the group? I know that there are a lot of lists out there about what you'll want/need postpartum, but I'm having trouble finding lists that include how much of each thing. So, what's on your postpartum list, and if you're a non-FTM what amount of each thing do you recommend? Example: Nursing bras - Okay, fine, I can do that... but how many?
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? Nope. My birthday is right before Thanksgiving, so I have a very strict order of operations for the holiday season. One at a time!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm really disappointed that I have to wait until AFTER Thanksgiving, when I'm almost 14 weeks, for my NT scan and NIPT testing. I really wanted to be able to announce the pregnancy on Thanksgiving, and the sex on our holiday cards (which is still probably doable, but tight). I might have to tell people on Thanksgiving regardless, my belly is starting to pop already.
3. Questions for the group? nope
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? after, but I'm really excited that Tgiving is early this year so we can get a jump on it! I've already started watching Hallmark Christmas movies lol.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I think/hope that I'm finally over being sick. I'm also getting tired of the comments on my belly size over the last week. Yes, I've popped. I'm aware. I still have at least 18 weeks more to grow.
3. Questions for the group? Nah
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? After. Dh's favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, and his birthday is right around there too, so he requests that I wait until afte Thanksgiving/birthday, whichever is later. I would prefer to start on Black Friday every year. But this year, it will be the first weekend in December at the earliest.
katespade, which specific items are you wondering about?
I started with 2 nursing bras (one black one nude) for daytime, and 2 for sleep. I ended up hating the sleep bras and just wore nursing tanks to bed. The nursing bras were find but didn't hide my pads or nips at all, so I spent most of that first 9 months trying different kinds to see what I liked. Still haven't found the magical nursing bra that is comfy, hides pads/nips, wireless (I got clogs when I wore underwire), and less than $50.
1. How far along are you this week? 9+5. Mind boggling that im 25% done on Wednesday!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? The bloat is turning into a bump. I can noticeably suck it in a lot less than a few days ago. I had H get my maternity clothes down from the attic. My stuff still fits, but not attractively.
Also my hair is falling out uncontrollably these days!
3. Questions for the group? When could you stop taking anti nausea meds? I forgot my B6 yesterday and paid for it!
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? After. Probably Dec. 8 this year. Undecided if I want to wrangle a tree with a toddler though.
2. I have to take an early 1 hr glucose test this week since I have a history of GD. I am annoyed by that, because I've had normal HbA1Cs this year (and every year since my last pregnancy) and would really rather just get my monitor out from last time and do spot checks at home than sit at the lab for an hour. I also have to go to the orthodontist today and get attachments put back on for my first refinement round of Invisalign. I've had them off for about a month waiting for new trays, which was really well timed with 1st tri nausea, but I'm worried about juggling it now.
3. None right now.
4. After Thanksgiving.
katespade , I think I had 2 nursing bras (more like sleep style than cup sized) at first, and added a whole bunch of nursing tanks right away afterward. I really preferred nursing tanks vs. nursing bras + regular tanks because I could get access while still leaving on whatever robe, cardigan, etc. I was wearing over it to stay warm. My first was born in Nov so it was cold out during the newborn period. I bought 2 more cup sized nursing bras before I went back to work.
pooh8402 - I guess mostly the clothing items for me. Will I want nursing bras? tanks? Shirts? Other clothes? How much should I plan on having in advance vs buying after I start figuring out how things are going to work? What else should I get ahead of time, besides the basic toiletries? What should I wait to get until I figure out if I'll need it or not?
I feel like I'm too overwhelmed by all of the decisions I'm supposed to be making and what's starting to feel like a really short amount of time to start making them.
2. As of this morning still exactly 0cm, ugh. Baby needs to get moving, I'm tired of being pregnant and really tired of working! I have a feeling we'll be in the hospital on Thanksgiving which I'm really not looking forward to. But he's healthy and that's number 1 priority so I know I shouldn't complain.
3. Ditto all of katespade 's questions, although I think I'm too far past having time to figure it out. I guess I'm just going to figure it all out once baby is here and either prime it or send my mom to go get stuff?
4. Can almost guarantee decorating will be minimal or non-existant this year!
katespade, I had maybe 2 nursing bras but mostly wore nursing tanks. By wearing the tank you don't need any other special nursing tops because you can pull up any old regular top and still keep your midsection covered. They didn't provide the best support, but I just did not care about that at the time. I stocked up on the 2 packs from H&M and had about 8 or 10 I think.
scm1011, we actually told our family about DD at Christmas before I had even seen the doctor. DH was so excited he didn't want to wait. I was only around 8-9 weeks at the time but couldn't get an appointment sooner because of the holidays.
katespade, I think most of it is personal preference. And your needs change throughout too. For the first month, I pretty much wore nursing tanks and pj pants, or nursing gowns when at home. Going out meant a nursing tank + shirt + shorts (it was summer). I wore bras more later. But I wore the crap out of my nursing tanks, so I have quite a few of those. So maybe 2 nursing bras and 2-3 tanks to start?
I ended up getting 2 pairs of in between size jeans when I was about 1 month pp, since I was too small for maternity but couldn't fit into my normal jeans yet. These I got cheap, from target, and they're just stretchy jeans in a size up and a higher waist. I wore a lot of maxi dresses in those days too, very forgiving.
I got one 6-pack of cotton granny panties in dark colors for the first month since I knew I'd be bleeding still.
1. How far along are you this week? 22w3d STM with twins
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? We went to a twin prep class this weekend. It was great, but I am overwhelmed. Our main takeaways are preparing ourselves for any time in the NICU and setting boundaries with family if we find ourselves in that situation. We're also looking into hiring help for when we're home and my H is back at work. Just for a few months while we get things figured out.
3. Questions for the group? Not this week
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? Definitely after, but the idea of doing the decorating is pretty daunting at the moment. I'll probably just drive my H nuts while I direct him.
2. I still feel like this isn't really happening. I am so unprepared for this baby.
3. nope
4. Usually after. I doubt I will do my normal decorating routine this year besides the tree because we have so much going on. We're living back at home, but not totally unpacked because we still have work going on in the kitchen and bath. I'm not even sure I know where our decorations are at this point!
hamster, I only took zofran because the b6/unisom combo made me way too sleepy to function. Since the zofran was as needed and had the horrible side effect of making me super constipated, I stopped taking it asap. I think about 10 weeks, maybe 11.
I was due 11/12 with DS and was also 0cm at my 39 week appointment. I also stressed being in the hospital for Thanksgiving, but I went into labor at 39+5 and had him 39+6. I hope something similar happens for you!

1. How far along are you this week? 16 weeks today!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I am still getting sick most days, even with meds. I was feeling good at this point with DS1, I am ready to eat normally again!
3. Questions for the group? Is anyone hoping to find good baby deals on Black Friday/Cyber Monday? I don't need much but am hoping to find a deal on the Infant Optics monitor, and maybe a Spectra S1 pump (my insurance only covers a manual pump. I still have a PISA from DS1 but will pay out of pocket for a Spectra if I can find a good price).
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? The day after Thanksgiving!
1. How far along are you this week? 10 weeks tomorrow!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I stop estradiol pills this week, and I am on my second week of stepping down off he prednisone! Two more weeks of progesterone and then I will be off all of my IVF medications! I am just impatiently waiting for my doctor appointment next week! We did make our forst baby purchase this weekend. I had planned to not buy anything until after our next ultrasound, but the Baby Brezza was on sale for $99 regular $220, so I bought it anyway. I can’t breastfeed because of my RA medication so this should hopefully make life easier!
3. Questions for the group? nothing today!
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? I am in Canada so our Thanksgiving was in October, but I work for an American company and we have US Thanksgiving and Black Friday off, so that is usually when I do my decorating.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have an appt with the genetic counselor tomorrow morning. Don't really know what to expect. And then blood draws for all the screening later in the week I think. Hoping to get the results before thanksgiving so I can tell most of my family at the same time.
Feeling loads better lately and I didn't need a nap yesterday, so maybe there is a light at the end of the 1st tri tunnel. Lol.
3. Questions for the group? Not really.
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? We get a tree a few weeks/days before xmas, just depending on when I feel like dealing with it. Lights go up if we think about it. That's about the extent of the decorating I do, lol. Not really a seasonal decorating person. DS is starting to care more about that stuff, so maybe he will push us to do a little more.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I can't believe I'm officially halfway! Still feeling pretty good, although heartburn is making a comeback. Still trying to wrap our heads around having a little girl when everyone was so sure it was a boy, but I'm so excited It might be a while before this baby has a name though
3. Questions for the group? At what point did you sign up for/start birth classes? Is there a preferred kind? This is something I haven't even thought about.
Did any of your SOs deal with gender disappointment? I know H really wanted a son, so he's a little bummed. I know he'll get over it (I think it's already dissipating) but I'm just curious about other peoples experiences.
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? After! We love Thanksgiving and fall, so I don't start until the day after Thanksgiving at the earliest.
hamster I stopped the meds around the beginning of second tri. I tried on a weekend so I wouldn't have to function at work if I ended up feeling terrible.

1. How far along are you this week? 29w4d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? My belly all of a sudden feels heavier and harder to maneuver. I'm bracing myself to get bigger and slower over the next ten weeks.
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? Mostly after, but we have a tiny tree up right now. My MIL visited last week, and we won't see her again until this baby is born in January, so we had a fun mini-Christmas celebration with her while she was here. I kind of want to pack the little tree away until Thanksgiving though. This will only be my third Thanksgiving weekend in the last twenty years or so that I've spent at home instead of traveling, so I'm looking forward to having the rest of that weekend to decorate.
1. How far along are you this week? Just got a BFP, 4 weeks today (I think?)
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? PGAL is starting to enter my brain. I have DD1 (8yo), had three losses, then DD2 (4yo). I have a call into my dr. to see if I should start baby asprin and progesterone. After testing and everything showing up as unexplained (except for an MTHFR mutation) I was put on those with dd2.
3. Questions for the group? When did your morning sickness start? I just want to start feeling like sh*t ASAP. I know I will regret saying that but I need some type of sign that everything is okay.
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? Usually the day off, or day after Thanksgiving. I'm basically all done shopping already thanks to some awesome sales.

1. 10w4d 2. 3. 4. After Thanksgiving. I am off on BF for the first time ever and DH usually WFH bc his office closes at 1 so maybe we will get the tree up on BF, since I can pretty much count the kids staying @ my mom’s on Thanksgiving night.
3. Questions for the group? When did your morning sickness start? I just want to start feeling like sh*t ASAP. I know I will regret saying that but I need some type of sign that everything is okay.
Morning sickness was what led me to test, so right around 5 weeks.
Good luck! Even without a history of loss, early pregnancy is such a mindf*ck.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Not much going on. Still super tired and my lower body is starting to get very sore. My goal for November is to get all the furniture assembled and the first round of baby laundry cleaned and put away. I feel so behind.
3. Questions for the group? Not this week
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? After. I think we are going to get our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. Since I'm due in January I imagine I'll want to take the decorations down as soon as Christmas is over.
