1. How far along are you this week? 20 weeks today, 1/2 way there!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Going for my big ultrasound on Thursday. I can’t wait to see the little guy!
3. Questions for the group? none I can think of
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? We go through it and throw stuff out every Thursday night (garbage day is Friday), but the last time I emptied it and cleaned the shelves was when we moved in at the end of July. It’s probably due to get done again soon!
1. How far along are you this week? 20+2 with twins
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Have been feeling them move, but H can't feel them yet. A/S today. Still no names or a short list of names.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? We clean it out every week, though shelves only get wiped when something spills. It's on my "to-do" list when I get a free chunck of time.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Lots of baby related stuff happening this week. First birth class tomorrow, 32 week growth scan on Wednesday, and baby shower on Sunday. We invited my mom to the growth scan, and she's over the moon excited. I'm looking forward to getting to share that with her.
3. Questions for the group? This is mostly for non-FTMs: Have you taken birth classes? Were they worth going to/paying for? We signed up for a 4 week class through the hospital. Each session is 2.5 hours in the evening, from 6:30-9:00. I know it's most likely worth the time and cost, and it's only four sessions, but right now that feels like an overwhelming amount of evening time to spend, especially when we add in the hour of drive time it will take to get back and forth.
I guess I'm just looking for confirmation that we're going to actually get something beneficial out of going.
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? Too long ago. We do a quick clean out every week on garbage day, but I can't remember the last time I actually emptied it and scrubbed everything down and whatnot.
katespade, I did not take any classes. As far as birth classes, I thought it would just freak me out/make me anxious, and I thought breastfeeding classes would be kind of useless without a baby. No regrets on either front. I got lots of help from LCs in the hospital with breastfeeding.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Big week! I have my first OB appt on Wednesday and I am hoping to get my Maternit21 results by EOW. I'll be able to take a big breath if/when we hear the heartbeat on Weds (I haven't seen it since week 7 at the RE), and I'm very anxious to learn the sex.
3. Questions for the group? nope
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? Our cleaning lady does it every 2 weeks.
2. I'm really ready for 2nd tri to come and the 1st tri symptoms to go soon. Also ready for NIPT results to come in so I can feel more confident sharing the news. I'm having trouble hiding the bump at work, and Hobbes (turning 3 on Friday) has noticed it too. I'd like to be able to tell her what's going on. Patience, grasshopper -- the theme of 1st tri I guess.
3. Not today.
4. I tend to do a drawer here, a shelf there... No idea when the last time was that I did the whole thing all in one shot.
katespade, I took a Lamaze class during 3rd tri with #1. It was probably a similar time commitment. I was planning to try for a med-free birth (which I ended up doing), so it really helped me to have a better idea of exactly what to expect, since labor isn't exactly like it's shown in the movies. I felt like it was really worthwhile, especially because the nurses at my hospital are in general more supportive of med free birth than I felt like my OBs were. If I was planning to get an epidural or have a CS, I would probably feel differently. This time I plan to skip it.
I skipped BFing classes since I feel like that would be hard to learn without a baby. I stand by that decision.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I started very light pink spotting this weekend. It has stopped now. This is not helping with my PGAL anxiety. It's super high and I can't concentrate on anything.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? Eh, like take the shelves out type of cleaning, a few times a year.

1. How far along are you this week? 17 weeks
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? According to the scale at the dr.'s office, I have gained 6lbs in the last 4 weeks. I have no idea how...I have a noticeable bump but I'm still sick on a fairly regular basis and I know that I have lost weight in my arms, legs, etc. I think some of it may have been constipation/having a really full bladder?
3. Questions for the group? nope
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? I clean out food weekly, last time I did a deep cleaning was August when the power went out for an extended period of time.
1. How far along are you this week? 29+6. Starting to feel the pressure to get things done now that we are almost 2 months away!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Not a lot right now. Planning on assembling the crib and dresser this weekend and sorting through some baby clothes. I also want to order the artwork once I get the furniture set up.
3. Questions for the group? Not this week.
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? My H got rid of some old leftovers and bad produce yesterday, but the drawers and shelves still need to be cleaned.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Waiting on Harmony results, can't wait to find out the sex. Feeling loads better this week, nausea is pretty much gone, not so tired anymore, but omg I am so gassy. I don't remember that being an issue last time so yay.
3. Questions for the group? When you tell people, do you frame it like an announcement? Or just slip it in to casual conversation.
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? Food gets thrown out regularly, but shelves and such get cleaned not so often.

I took the birth class, bf class, and baby care class. I found them helpful, but the most useful I think was for H. He would never had sought out any of the info on his own, so forcing him to understand more of what was going to happen was good for us.
This time I think we will take the CPR class, which we really should have done last time.

katespade, I didn't take any classes with DS1. Since I ended up with a c-section I didn't regret not taking the birth class. Since he was in the NICU for a week we had some extra hands-on time with nurses and lactation consultants. If it hadn't been for that I think I would have regretted not taking a baby care/CPR class.

jade, after we got back good NIPT results we had DS1 wear a big brother shirt to a family reunion and I wore a "we are adding a pumpkin to our patch" shirt to a work event. People only semi-noticed. I think that word has spread at this point, but I will eventually do a facebook announcement in case anyone doesn't know.
ETA: As of today's appointment I'm exactly at my pre-pregnancy weight. I never thought I'd be anxious about *not* gaining weight, but it's hard when all of the apps tell me I should have gained some weight by now. (Although, I did lose 6-7 pounds during first trimester from being so sick, and I've gained that back, so maybe that's good enough?)
If it makes you feel better I only gained 12lbs total during my pregnancy with DS (and I was slim to begin with). My OB wasn't concerned. It was great because I was below my pre-preg size by the time I left the hospital!
Unfortunately that will NOT be happening this time around lol. I haven't stepped on the scale in a while but I'd guess I'm already up >5lbs at 11 weeks.
2. We went to Ikea this weekend to get the crib and dresser and they only had one crib in stock that had a ripped box and looked damaged. We didn't have time to put anything together anyway, but it stinks that I feel delayed again. We are so close and have literally done nothing to prepare for this baby.
3. nada
4. We have a brand new fridge that is pretty bare right now so I'm good for a while!
katespade, I didn't take birth classes for DD. Out of all the classes offered I figured, one way or another I was giving birth, so I didn't feel the need to take a specific class! I probably would have felt differently if I was trying for med-free though. My L&D nurse was AMAZING and I don't feel like I missed anything important. We did take a baby care class which was kind of a waste, and a BF class which was helpful. Both were only one session though and free at our hospital.
2. I definitely started feeling the baby this last week! I wasn't sure at first, but after feeling the same thing several days in a row I have told myself it's the baby moving.
3. Any ideas of how to help get first time dads more interested/engaged in the pregnancy? I've heard it can take men a long time or until the baby is born, but I'd at least like some interest/questions from him about what's going on with me and our baby.
4. Um....I can't remember. We are moving next week so a thorough cleaning is happening soon.

1.. How far along are you this week? 16.6 with twins
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I just walked out of my anatomy scan and am finally feeling brave enough to join here after 8 prior losses. Both babies look great, one girl one boy, and my cervix is longer than I dreamed possible! That's saying something after two second tri losses due to cervical insufficiency. Thinking we might finally bring home living babies!
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? Uh, I've had HG, so I haven't gone near the fridge in about 12 weeks. It did get a good scrub back then.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm going to get NIPT done today. Except H heard me asking the nurse if it was covered by insurance and the answer is basically "probably." H wants me to get a firm answer of what it costs if it's not covered, but the lab cant tell me because that's now really how medical billing works. So now he's worried we will end up being responsible for thousands of dollars and is pissy we cant get an answer. I'm frankly not that worried. I didnt owe a dime last time, and it wasn't covered then either and I had carrier screening too.
Also busted out maternity tops this weekend. My regular stuff fits, but I just look fat in it.
3. Questions for the group? Not really
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? We got a new one a year ago, so...
2. Barely a fingertip dialated (sob). Baby hasn't responded to stairs, walking, sex, spicy food, or verbal encouragement(lol) to make his way out. Back on Friday for another check and potentially cervidil. My dr apparently won't induce before 41w but since that's the day before Thanksgiving I fought for them to put me on the schedule for next Monday. Of course it's the one dr I haven't met during the pregnancy, but the thought of waiting until after the holiday or going into labor during dinner made me want to cry. Definitely over being pregnant so fx for some action this week!
3. Induction tips?
4. We got a new fridge over the summer. With labor possibly 'any day now' for the last few weeks we've kept it pretty bare bones, but the freezer is stocked!
3. Any ideas of how to help get first time dads more interested/engaged in the pregnancy? I've heard it can take men a long time or until the baby is born, but I'd at least like some interest/questions from him about what's going on with me and our baby.
I'm not sure if this would help your H, but I send mine a weekly screenshot from my pregnancy app. He likes knowing what size she is each week, and will often refer to her as a little (insert size comparison here), which I think is absolutely adorable. I also randomly toss out little "Did you know?" facts when they come up on my app, especially when they have to do with her development. He's been pretty connected from the beginning, but I feel like those things have helped him be more actively engaged in what's actively going on.
katespade our hospital offered one 'all day' class which ended up being 5ish hours. As first time parents it was definitely helpful. We did a separate less than 1 hr infant CPR class. They also have other classes for breastfeeding and babycraft (changing diapers, bathing, etc) but I opted out of those. Unless your classes cover everything I wonder what they will talk about for 10 hours!
1. How far along are you this week? 11 weeks tomorrow
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? My ob appointment is tomorrow. Finally! Hopefully they can schedule my ultrasound in the next week or so. I am still spotting, so I hope this will calm my anxiety.
3. Questions for the group? Nothing this week
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? I go through it each week and throw things out, but I don’t think I have done a deep clean in a few months. I should probably do that soon!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I graduate to my OB this week (from the RE). Oh and I'm not longer on Estrogen patches and get to move to EOD for PIO shots which I'm THRILLED (and nervous) about. But it feels like a big milestone.
3. Questions for the group? Has anyone told work and have it NOT go well?
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? We just moved into a new house in September and had cleaners deep clean it then. It's still sparkling!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? None really. OB appointment this AM, so far so good. Will have an ultrasound at 31 weeks to monitor where my placenta is because she's not 100% comfortable with a vaginal delivery where it is currently.
3. Questions for the group? Nah
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? This weekend, actually!
