1. How far along are you this week? Today (Weds), I'm 36+5
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Just trying to focus on getting through the last few days of our kitchen remodel, then Thanksgiving. Hoping she stays put till then!
3. Questions for the group? Nope.
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? We try to toss old stuff routinely, but will definitely start fresh when we move into our new kitchen!

1. How far along are you this week? 35 weeks 4 days
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm almost done getting the baby's room together, and I'm so happy to get it done. I've been washing all of the pads, covers, and baby laundry that has been in our attic for the past 7ish years.
Also happy to have gone to Buy Buy Baby in Raleigh over the weekend. We were up there to see Hamilton, and BBB was giving 25% off to veterans. Our local Target is renovating, and the baby section is empty, and I've never missed Babies R Us so much! We got our 2nd carseat base, stroller adapter, high chair (we won't need that for awhile), some nursing pads, and we let our kids pick out their Christmas present for the baby.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Thursday is National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When was the last time you cleaned out your fridge? In September, when we got home after evacuating from Florence. I had taken most of my food to a friend who struggles on our way out of town, so thankfully our fridge & freezer was pretty bare. Long term power outages make a funky fridge & freezer! It took me about 4 hours to scrub the whole thing.
I have a question! Today we had our Doctor appointment (11 weeks today) and he didnāt find the heartbeat with the Doppler. He did say that sometimes you canāt hear it at this mark, but it has me stressed out. I am being sent for a nuchal scan, but the clinic needs to call when it is scheduled. Any experience that turned out good? So far nothing about this experience has been exciting or fun. š
This happened to me at 10w5d. The midwife warned me that she might not be able to find it and asked beforehand if I even wanted her to look. I confidently said I did and then spent the next two weeks until my NT scan worried.
Well itās good to hear this is common, itās the waiting that is killing me.
Waiting is the worst and I hope you can get an ultrasound soon!
I think itās pretty common too - both midwives Iāve used and my current OBGYN wonāt use a Doppler until 12 + weeks because it can be tricky to hear the heartbeat.
My OB group is the same: no doppler before 12 weeks. I have a home doppler and even with twins, I couldn't reliably find a heartbeat until that point. I have anterior placentas, which apparently make it harder. Sorry you have the extra stress latte, but I wouldn't worry too much as it's a pretty normal experience.

Same for my mine.
I was contemplating switching practices, and went for the "first" OB visit at 6w at another practice that had been recommended to me. They laid out their schedule for me, and it included doppler check at 8w and first u/s at 12w. I skedaddled out of there. Doppler at 8w, what? No thank you for the assured anxiety that will cause. I am much more comfortable with my practice (from my first pregnancy)'s schedule of doing u/s at 8w and doppler at 12+, and it seems much more in line with what I see here. IMO doppler before 12w is borrowing worry.
I hope you get news soon that reassures you that all is well, latte.
I got my Harmony test results today, everything is good, and its a girl! I was somehow convinced it would be another boy. I can't tell anyone yet until I tell DH tonight, so I am telling you guys! Lol.

Went in for my ultrasound today (it was another vaginal ultrasound but I was okay with that...after a year of fertility treatments, what's one more really?) but I did get to hear the heartbeat. I burst into full on sobs, was so relieved!
Now I just have to make some decisions about prenatal testing.
I got my results back for the 1 hour GD test I took last week. (I had to take it at 10w due to history of GD.) 97! I didn't really expect it to be high this early in my pregnancy since I was not pre-diabetic, but <100 seems good. The nurse didn't say much other than that it was fine. All I know is that I can eat pie in peace on Thanksgiving.
I don't have an app't until 11/30 though to ask about context for that number. Like, what kind of number/range might I have been in at ~10w last time when I went on to develop GD? Nothing to compare to yet.

I tried to get out of the glucose drink last time through a set of food logs and my own glucose meter, but ultimately my OB rejected the idea because my fasting numbers were over 100 (they're about 90 not pregnant). I did pass the test though, FWIW.

You guys. Yesterday was insane! I thought I would just have a rough, snowy commute home. It took me 4 hours to do a 25 minute drive and they shut the highway down so we had no way to get to our town.
Luckily, my mom keeps DS, so he slept over and was fine. H and I found a hotel room near our jobs. People were stranded everywhere and schools that didn't close early ended up sheltering in place. Buses had to shelter in place on the highway.
On one hand, I wish I had listened to my gut, picked up DS and got home before the snow. OTOH, I'm so glad we got the all clear on baby girl and we ended up safe.

Not super helpful anecdote, I realize.
I don't know what my fasting number is, my test wasn't fasted. I know I failed with a non-fasted 157 in my last pregnancy at 28-or-whatever weeks. I am not sure if that's the next time I'll have to take the 1 hr test or if I will need to repeat sooner, and then AGAIN at 28-ish. All questions for my next app't. Oh well. I'm trying to take it day by day, and like I said, at least my Thanksgiving pie is safe from the carb police Pregnancy is the ultimate exercise in waiting and not knowing.
scm1011 , not yet. My phone rang with a local number earlier this morning and I was all excited but it was just Hobbes' pedi confirming her Monday well visit. Boo.
I called my OB's office on Wed to see if they had either the NIPT or 1 hr GTT results, and they only had the GTT (but hadn't called me? sigh). They gave me the same "it can take up to 14 business days..." line that you hear at Labcorp, that does not align with most peoples' experiences that I hear about. I will probably call my OB's office before COB today if I don't hear anything just in case they have it, like with the GTT. Hobbes' bday party is tomorrow and we are going to see a bunch of people who don't yet know I'm pregnant, I was really hoping to have results before then. I am (mostly unsuccessfully now) struggling to hide my pregnancy until I get the results, and am in this weird limbo where I'm sufficiently obviously pregnant that people just ask me, but I really don't want to talk about it yet.
Susie, I hear you. I haven't popped quite as much as you and can still hide things with boxy sweaters (my office is on the casual side of business casual), but it would be nice to not stress it anymore. I should hear through my patient portal, so I doubt I'll call, but we'll see. My NP is actually my first college roommate (kind of awkward lol) and she said they always say 14 days but usually its more like 7-10. I hope we both get good news today!
Mine said without the carrier screening it's been faster than 14 days, so I'm already twitching here. H is OOT though so I feel like kind of a jerk finding out without him, but he said I could do "whatever.

My H was OOT when I got my results. I asked them to put it in an envelope, and opened it over a phone call with H so we could still find out together.

There's a pretty good chance he wont even have cell service, so I'd have to wait until he got home, which may not be until Wednesday. My willingness to wait will probably be dependent on when they call.

Boooooo to no cell service! And boooooo to waiting!

namasteak, I'm in the same boat. My draw was on Wednesday and I was warned it might take until sometime btw the 26th and 30th to get results. However, I'm terrified of getting the results, so a little part of me is relieved there's little chance Thanksgiving will be ruined by bad news. I've even told them to call my husband with the results because I don't want to be alone if there's any bad news.
