We need to replace our fridge and I am so overwhelmed with options and varying reviews. Would love some feedback if anyone has any that they love or hate or even brands they love or hate. Our Kenmore had problems within a year of buying it and we would love to prevent that if possible.
Requirements: 33" width 35" MAYBE 36" deep (not against counter depth since we have a smaller kitchen)
We have and like our French door so want to stick with that.

I have a Samsung, 3 door with ice/water machine in front, and I love, love, love it. I have had Samsungs for the past two fridges and I haven't had a single complaint.

When we were fridge shopping we were between the Samsung and LG and ended up with the Samsung. They both had things we didn't like about them, so it was more about which could we live with. We now wish we would have went with the LG, LOL.
What we don't like about the Samsung is the icemaker in the door. It takes up SO much space in the door that we were used to having. We thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but its been a bummer losing that space.
What we didn't like about the LG was the water dispenser on the door and how it functions. Several friends have them and it's kind of confusing how the water gets dispensed and water usually ends up on the floor.
If you're not planning on getting the ice/water in the door then it would be a toss up between the two. They both get pretty good reviews.
Yeah, I am hoping to have no water/ice on the door. Our current fridge has it on the inside and we love that. We don't really ever use ice, so we don't need easy access to it.
Will look into some Samsung options. Do yours have the sliding deli/cheese drawer? Our current one has a full length one on the bottom under the veggie/fruit drawers and we love that.
I have a GE that looks just like that, only the filter is a different style. Mine is 4 years old and I haven’t had a single issue. I prefer no water/ice on the door. The slate color was brand new when we bought it, and GE was the only one selling anything like it. I think I posted here asking if it would be a trend. Consensus was that it was likely a quick fad that would pass quickly, but looks like it’s increasing in popularity. I LOVE it! It feels softer/warmer than SS to me.
aspentosh ,yes we love having the full sliding deli/cheese drawer under the veggie/fruit drawers.
Ours does, too. It’s a perfect drawer for beer and wine! (We put veggies in one deep drawer and meet/cheese in the other. Fruit just goes on the shelves so it doesn’t get forgotten.
I don’t have specific brand recs, but if your space is really tight, don’t forget to take into consideration the height and depth of the door hinge blocks on the top of the fridge. I was so focused on the body measurements that I dismissed the hinge. I can’t open the cabinets above the fridge correctly because of it. The design of our kitchen has no wiggle room for the fridge, it is framed by cabinets, and they didn’t build in much extra space, even with the original fridge.
ETA: we also have the model with the drink drawer (it is an external drawer, no access to the fridge required), and love it. It is a Samsungfrom Costco. I have some negative things too, and can share if needed. Overall it works well for us tho.
Nothing was wrong with it, other than it being side by side which I absolutely hate. I pretty much wanted to replace it on day one, but husband was OK with it until we adopted a puppy and have two dogs on raw with no space for their food. I love the new one and I'm interested to see how we end up utilizing the flex space. I wish it had one more drawer like our old fridge did. We normally have a cheese & fruit/veggie drawer, another veggie drawer, and another for meat but I think we eat a weirdly large amount of veggies. I am annoyed that not all of the shelves in the doors are adjustable and that there's wasted space in the top one (not adjustable) -- if the item is taller than a can of Kraft Parmesan cheese or French's Mustard it won't fit in the back row.

It's only tight width wise and a bit depth wise because we have a doorway right next to the right side of the fridge. We took our the cabinets above out fridge years ago so we can go up up up, just not sideways But great reminder!
We are going back and forth between Samsung and GE, so if you have anything more on the Samsung I would love to hear! It may not be the same model but it still may help!

My sister had this one and loved it but alas it's too wide at 36"
This was our ideal model but it's just about 1" too deep. The only other 33" GE is the one I posted above that is counter depth. Which is... annoying lol.
Overall, we like it. As mentioned above it is super tight on all sides, and we forgot to account for the hinge on the top. We’re used to it, but a smaller one could have for better in the space. We use the middle drawer for drinks. The ice maker has a crushed or not option and it always kind of crushes the ice. The shelves can’t really be adjusted in the fridge, and it seems the height is just a bit short for many standard items, like milk jugs. There is a shelf that will slide back to accommodate tall items, but then you lose shelf space. Have a hard time keeping the stainless steel clean. I do miss having a meat/cheese drawer in the fridge. One of the door shelves we’ve dedicated for cheese.

I would caution against samsung kitchen appliances, I've heard nothing but horror stories with them. They make great tv's but not necessarily great appliances.
