I am 1000% yes on Uggs. But I live in NH. Fashion is not our thing and it is snowy and cold. I don't care if they're not stylish. They're warm and comfy.
ETA - they also hold up really well. Mine are like 5 years old with no real signs of wear.
How do you wear the boot/leg warmers? I bought a pair of warm white ones and can't for the life of me figure out how to wear them so I don't look like a dork.

Uggs seem out to me from a fashion sense but they keep hanging around because they’re warm and cozy. Sleek booties with a chunkier heel seem to be more in now from what Ive noticed.
I only wear Uggs coaching soccer in 39 degree weather, or similar outdoor activities, now.
I struggle with shoes for non-skinny jeans. I don’t generally wear tennis shoes unless I’m working out. Don’t love ballet flats. Booties look weird. Ugh.
I could never get on board with Uggs. But I also live somewhere relatively warm year round.
Are my tall (under the knee) boots out of style now that I found a pair I love last year? I also just found a pair of booties I like, so those are probably on the way out too.
k3am, I love my tall under the knee boots. I bought myself a new pair this fall. DD is lusting after a new pair at her ripe age of 7.
I see the teenage girls wearing their Ugg's or Birkenstock sandals all the time. Leotards shorty shorts and Ugg's is the fade amongst the teen girls at the gym for winter with a hoodie thrown on over their leotards when the leave the gym. For just this I can't do either Ugg's or Birkenstock's (summer attire).
My tall leather boots I wear with dresses when it’s cold, but with dresses when it’s warm or jeans I wear booties.
I am wearing leggings and an athletic jacket. I can’t find my black tennis shoes. This feels like a low level crisis. DD wore her black Adidas and I can’t find her black Nikes either. Annoyed.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I don’t live in Texas so I have black and brown winter boots, black and gray booties. I mostly wear my tennis shoes unless it snows because of my orthotic.
186momx- I can’t figure out the leg warmer thing either. Whenever I see it done well, I’m like “that’s so cute!” But I have never been able to figure out what the secret sauce is to making it work.
I think I figured out that they have to be a neutral color. But even here they are too hot or too many layers so I don’t use them. Pinterest is my go to for fashion. Search boot topper outfits or leg warmer outfits. Typically with a different color higher boot for the boot topper with dark skinny jeans. Leg warmers themselves are a bit trickier. I might get some for dance class for DD because cuteness.
twinmomma - I have Sperrys but I feel like all of those look summery. I am struggling like I always do with the winter transition.
What tanks or long tees do you wear under sweatshirts/fleeces with leggings? I want sort of long but not full on tunic length, preferably fitted. I just want to cover most of my butt without looking like I am wearing a skirt. It’s a fine line. I have ONE from Kohl’s that’s perfect, but haven’t found one with stretch like this since.
2chatter, I have a pair of wool Toms that I love. I'm also on the hunt for new cami's. I found a style I like at Target but haven't worn it yet. It's by JKY and more of a silky material so I can wear it under my blouses too.
I can't do Uggs, they make me feel like a teenager.
Loft has new tanks that are very nice. They have done that have a v neck that I’m planning to buy next week when my $200 in Loft cash kicks in. The other place that has long tanks for tall gals is J Jill.
mommyatty, Loft is one of my favorite stores for work clothes. Did you find any good items? I'm looking for dress pants but the pair I ordered online didn't fit right and they're so wide at the ankles. I think that style is coming back...
mellym, it was about 6-8 weeks ago now, but I did find some good stuff at Loft and H&M (sweaters). I was specifically looking for trousers (not wide leg) but definitely not skinny for work pants. I have good luck with them because I am short and their petites work well for me. They do have skinny styles, but I think it is probably easier to go in person and see the cuts than order online.
Just throwing this out there for the colder climate parents on here, I get the long sleeve Merona shirts from target and that is what I layer under sweaters all winter long. T-shirts and tanks are too chilly for here. I feel like the t-shirt version of this has a slightly wider cute though. I think someone here gave me the Merona long sleeve shirt idea. I have been doing it for 2-3 years now, and love it. I am finally, mostly, warm enough.

Getting my haircut this afternoon and am donating about 8-9 inches. It’s my third and final time donating. This is my pic to show the stylist. Is this in style? And who is this?
sandandsea , its Brenda from General Hospital way back when I think. Vanessa something. I was just reading she had had a kid with Brian Green, and I was thinking why?
sandandsea, always in style. I don't know that I'd call it a lob. Also don't worry about in style, just get something you like that works with your hair.

Vanessa Hudgens from High school musical is who I thought it was. I told dh it was a high school musical person like Selena Gomez or something and he thought I was crazy. It is Victoria Justice from Nickelodeon....born in 1993 which I think means the hairstyle has to be cool.
