2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I had a sort of bad fall on Friday. My son got away from me in our front yard and took off towards the street. I started running after him and fell forward down a tiny hill in our yard onto our street. I caught myself on my hands and left side/knee. I called the on call doctor who was not at all helpful and essentially said it was up to me if I wanted to go get monitored. I ended up staying home since baby was moving quite a bit and I wasn't having any bleeding or cramping. I was so sore for the next two days though. My knee still hurts from where it hit the ground.
On a good note, my sisters did throw me a little sprinkle on Saturday. It was just my two sisters and 3 close friends. I got all the bedding for the nursery and a few outfits. That gave us the motivation to assemble all the nursery furniture. It finally looks like a baby will be sleeping in that room!
3. Questions for the group? Not this week.
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? Thanks to katespade for the heads up, I got a Lillebaby carrier for super cheap at Target. I also combined today's 15% off everything at Target plus my 15% off registry coupon to pick up a bassinet, boppy cover, car seat/nursing cover, and a few smaller things. I also ordered the nursery artwork and mobile from Etsy using shop coupon codes plus 7.5% cash back through the Ibotta app. Now I officially need to stop spending money!
There is a heartbeat!!! 6w5d. So about two days earlier than I thought, which is very possible. Still super nervous but I feel better. Edd July 17.
I did some shopping, mainly gifts for my girls. Hanna Andersson has free shipping no minimum so I’ll probably get some tights and underwear for dd1 today.
1. How far along are you this week? 12+5. I think. I should probably confirm that. Second pregnancy woes, lol.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Coming to terms (ok, that's a little strong) with two boys. I think we've got it down to 2 names, which was easier than expected. Still looking though. Have an appointment Tuesday but not expecting anything exciting.
3. Questions for the group? Any recs for inexpensive maternity leggings?
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? I looked, but didn't find anything I needed.
2. NT scan on Friday, so we will get to see DS again. Nerves are much calmer going into it having already gotten NIPT results.
3. For S(+)TMs: anyone else feel slightly overwhelmed after the holiday weekend with your older kid(s) at home, knowing there's another one on the way? Or is that just me!? With all the travel, DD (3) was in high need mode, and honestly pretty frustrating. I had moments of hyperventilating... how am I going to do this? and why!?
4. I bought a second Chicco MyFit car seat for DD, for 25% off at Albee Baby - a little better than a regular 20% coupon at BBB, but not amazing. There is literally not a single thing I can think of that I am ready to buy for baby #2 though. The only thing I know for sure I want to buy is a Keekaroo peanut changing pad, but I don't know what color. I'm also not 100% on what I really want for our stroller situation. I have a frame stroller for the infant seat, a Bob, and an umbrella stroller from last time, not sure if I want anything else or different. Last time I passed on the City Mini GT that I really liked because it felt too in-between the Bob and the umbrella, and I didn't want to buy a 4th stroller for one baby. I'm allowing myself the option though of buying one stroller this time. By next year at BF/CM, I will hopefully know what I'd actually get the most use out of (single? double? style?). In the meantime, indecision saves me money!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I need someone to talk me down, because my anxiety is out of control - H got me a prenatal massage at a salon/spa for my birthday, and I'm terrified to get it because my brain is convinced that it might somehow hurt the baby. Is this a realistic worry, or am I being ridiculous? I'm being ridiculous, right? Are there risks to getting a massage while pregnant? Are there questions I should be asking to make sure that the person giving me a massage knows what they're doing?
I have a therapy appointment today, an OB appointment on Wednesday, and then my massage is scheduled for Friday... so I'm hoping that I can get myself calmed down by then and make the decision to either let go of my fear and enjoy it or reschedule it. Ugh.
Also, we have maternity pictures scheduled for Wednesday, assuming the weather cooperates.
3. Questions for the group? What did/will you use as a bedside bassinet? That's one of the big ticket items left on our to-buy list and I'm feeling overwhelmed by the options.
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? So. Much. Shopping. I have no self-control, apparently. I had a gift card for Lalabu so I used that to get two soothe shirts BOGO 50% off, I went to Big Lots and found a recliner glider for the living room, I stacked my 15% Target registry discount to get an Owlet 2 monitor and LILLEbaby carrier, and ordered two QALO teething necklaces for BOGO Free (sale is still going on, if anyone is interested - qalo.com/collections/the-family-collection).
I'm still on the hunt for: Bedside Bassinet Crib Mattress Chicco KeyFit Car Seat Base Chicco KeyFit Caddy Frame Stroller Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor
2) it’s been a week and I’m hoping to get my NIPT results any day now! And hoping this nausea/exhaustion lets up soon
4) I got some maternity clothes, clothes for the kids and jeans for DH. I would like to find a big toy castle with dragons and knights for my boys but haven’t had much luck. There are some on eBay but too many sets to sort through stresses me out.
katespade, prenatal massages are the best. I did them monthly last pregnancy, a little more frequently at the end. I have my 2nd one of this pregnancy on Saturday. I go to a LMT who does prenatal massage as one of her specialties, and primarily she avoids certain pressure points that (supposedly) can start labor. Once I get big enough, she also has a pillow that fits a belly so you can lay on your stomach for the massage, which feels amazing when you haven't done it in months. At 13w this time, it will be iffy on whether I need it yet, but after this time I'm sure I will. I had my last prenatal massage last time at 39+0, and told her to go for it on the pressure points since I was full term. I went into labor the next night, so I will definitely do that again!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Have my NT scan tomorrow, excited to see our little guy again! Even though he was a PGS/PGD tested embryo we did elect to do NIPT test since it was free. I'm not worried, nor am worried about tomorrow which is going to make for a very bad time if something is wrong. I sort of decided going into the holiday that I need to let myself be emotionally all in to this pregnancy as the anxiety wasn't doing any one any good.
3. Questions for the group? Any good pregnancy/childbirth book recommendations that aren't fear-based?
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? I bought WAY too much. Lots of maternity clothes, a standing desk that was a flash sale at amazon, a new frying pan set, some makeup, all of this in addition the body work I'm having done on my car from running into my own mail box.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have my NT scan tomorrow and I'm exciting to see baby girl. I'm also ready for 1st tri fatigue to lift already.
3. Questions for the group? not this week
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping?Anything you're still looking for? I bought DS (2) a pair of Bogs for $28 + 12% case back on ebates. I really should take advantage and buy the infant carseat and a double stroller but I just haven't gotten it together enough to pull the trigger.
3. For S(+)TMs: anyone else feel slightly overwhelmed after the holiday weekend with your older kid(s) at home, knowing there's another one on the way? Or is that just me!? With all the travel, DD (3) was in high need mode, and honestly pretty frustrating. I had moments of hyperventilating... how am I going to do this? and why!?
YESSSS. Right now DH and I can trade off. There were points this weekend where I would say "ok, I need to go lay down in bed and read for an hour to regroup" and I had that luxury. With 2 I imagine its going to be more all hands on deck.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I passed my 1hr early glucose test last week so yay. Got to see baby girl again at 12 week appt.
Told everyone in my family and work last week. So weird to be suddenly talking openly about the baby when just last week it was still under wraps.
3. Questions for the group? Not today!
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? I hate shopping and trying to figure out if things are a good deal or not, so no! Plus I am waiting to see what baby stuff we get from friends/family who are passing things down and shopping craigslist for most things. I did buy a lot of yarn last week though. I am in baby blanket making mode I guess.
Susie - Is there a difference between going to a salon/spa and going to an LMT? Or are the people who do massages at salon/spas usually LMTs?
I would think most people employed at spas would be LMTs. You could check the spa's bios online. I've been going for a while to a small business where massage is all they do, and they are all LMTs.

Would it be weird if I called and asked? H is the one who set up the appointment, so I don't know anything other than where and when. Haha.

If it makes you feel better, then do it. The whole point is for this to be relaxing
1. How far along are you this week? 25w3d STM with twins
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? The nursery is so close to being done! We'll definitely meet my goal of having it done by Christmas. Then we'll wait until early January for my registry discount to buy out the rest of the things we need. Still need to buy a new vehicle, but I'm not feeling a huge rush to do that since I'm not looking forward to it Had a check up with the perinatologist this morning, and all looks well. Baby A is now vertex but B is still transverse. God help me, both are measuring ahead.
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? Yes, but really just baby items. I should really start Christmas shopping, but it hurts to spend money at the moment. It feels like we've been in nonstop spending mode lately, and I'm ready for it to stop.

I'm making myself feel better by telling myself we'll ease into it. The baby (or babies in my case ) will become the easy one. By the time the baby is a toddler, the older one will be onto a new (hopefully more independent and helpful??) stage. At least I've heard that anecdotally.
hamster I like my Ingrid & Isabel ones that I got on sale. I hate my old navy ones - about 6 weeks of wear and they are already faded & piling.
Yes, I live in my Ingrid & Isabel ones, hamster! But they are not inexpensive. I bought them when they were like 40% off and could justify 2 pairs. That said, I think they are worth it!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Terrible heartburn. Ug. Maybe I also said that last week. Also lots of nosebleeds and I’m leaking tiny amounts of milk. I had all these symptoms last pregnancy but as bad and not this early.
3. Questions for the group?
At my appointment this morning my doctor suggested I go on daily Zantac or Pepcid for the heartburn. Which should I try first? Do you do something else that helps?
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? Not much. I have a few things in several online shopping carts I haven’t ordered yet. I want an actual bottle drying rack, new bottle brush, a few new pacifiers and blankets. Nothing too big.

This is what I'm telling myself too - that my toddler will continue to get easier as the baby gets harder. I'm as mentally prepared as possible for the first couple months to be miserable though.
DH doesn't tell himself that. He basically just says, "We're f-ed." He has a really good attitude.

Totally agree with this katespade. Call and get a little more info if it makes you more comfortable. I’ve never done prenatal massage but it sounds amazing. And I’m certain that someone who is doing would also want and need to be comfortable working with pregnant women so I bet they could answer any questions or be extra cautious about labor pressure points.

Yup. I got two pairs of I&I from Nordstrom during the anniversary sale. Totally worth it, even at full price. I’ve worn them to death.

The acid reflux is driving me crazy. I haven't taken anything for it, other than Tums of course. I've found that it's worse when I have an empty stomach, so sometimes having a snack will hold it off. Obviously even the tiniest amount of anything acidic is off limits - not even one sip of wine, and I'm starting to regret it when I eat tomato-based sauces, which is a shame because I love them. I think sugary foods might make it worse too; Saturday I ate way too much sugar, and I was up overnight taking Tums and still felt sick Sunday morning.
I like this tea: smile.amazon.com/Earth-Mama-Heartburn-Occasional-Pregnancy/dp/B0721B7D5F/ It certainly doesn't solve the problem long-term, but at least it's a way that I can drink some liquids without acid reflux burning my throat a few minutes later. Otherwise, I often end up avoiding drinking water even when I'm thirsty, just because it hurts.

1. 38+3!! They have said they will want to induce before I get to 40w, so if that holds, she’ll be here in a week or so. Eek/yay! I was induced last time, so the anticipation of going into labor is a new odd feeling.
2. I’m just so slow and aching. Also, I’m on so many meds, yet the heartburn is persistent. I don’t often wish to be taller, but 5’3” with a short torso is killing me right now.
3. Nothing I can think of.
4. Yes, I got a Lillebaby ring sling for 40% off at Nordstrom (amazon has a similar deal.) I’m hoping it’s easier to deal with than the Moby, which i found a PITA to put on.
I don’t think we need much else, other than to decide if we are using a cloth diaper service again. I want to, husband doesn’t. DD never got a diaper rash until we put her in disposables and she was super easy to potty train. Also, those cloth diaper bums are even more adorable than regular baby bums!! 😍

1. How far along are you this week? 32w4d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? We decided on a name! And we told people, so now we're committed.
Growth ultrasound tomorrow, so it'll be nice to see the baby again. A very minor kidney issue came up in the a/s. The ultrasound tech minimized its importance, and my midwife said she didn't think it was worth mentioning at all, so I haven't been worried about it, but it'll be a relief if it's entirely cleared up this time.
3. Questions for the group? pooh8402 , I tried out the KT tape. I think I like it. I wore it for the first time on Thursday, when I knew I'd be on my feet a lot, and it seemed to help a lot - I had a lot less aches and pains, although my back got sore, which it usually doesn't. It didn't feel comfortable enough for sleeping, so I took it off at night, and that sucked - it hurt like hell to take it off! I ended up rubbing oil on it and it was easier then, but it was a hassle. I put more tape on the next morning, but it must have been looser. It isn't nearly as uncomfortable, so I still have it on instead of taking it off at night, and I'm not getting back pain.
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? I am way too lazy for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I might get that Graco 4ever carseat. We have the Chicco NextFit for our toddler, but my husband and I both complain about it.
What did/will you use as a bedside bassinet? That's one of the big ticket items left on our to-buy list and I'm feeling overwhelmed by the options.
I got a bassinet as a hand-me-down, but my first baby hated it. She hated sleep in general, but she did better in the Rock N Play, so we almost never used the bassinet.
Yes, I live in my Ingrid & Isabel ones, hamster ! But they are not inexpensive. I bought them when they were like 40% off and could justify 2 pairs. That said, I think they are worth it!
Yup. I got two pairs of I&I from Nordstrom during the anniversary sale. Totally worth it, even at full price. I’ve worn them to death.
How do they run? I've found maternity clothes in general run super large, but I've only really ordered from Gap, Old Navy, and Target.
