2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Yaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy for viability! I still don't take a big breath until 32 weeks but yay. Vent: DH's cousin's wife is due 5 weeks before me and I'm bigger than her. Blah.i look further along than I am. Vent: I've had to stop using my KT tape because my skin is breaking out, wah. SO ITCHY. I ordered another kind that is supposed to be gentler on the skin but won't get it until Saturday. Thank goodness I'm not working this week and don't need the support.
cactuscookie, yes it hurts like hell if you take it off right away. I've been wearing it about 5 days and take it off after a shower when the water has softened it. I do think there is a certain way to put it on to minimize discomfort/pulling. I'm glad you like it.
3. Questions for the group? Nah.
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? Me, not so much. I've been working and in school. Dh has though, mostly ordering off thr running list I'd been keeping, or from Etsy. He's actually doing a great job.
katespade, I asked my OB about prenatal massages last week and she said go for it. Also, we just used the PNP in our room for the first few weeks. Then we brought it downstairs and still use it with A when we travel.
FYI: amazon has quite a few baby things 25% off and higher. I got some of my favorite reusable nursing pads (bamboobies), a boppy, a good mattress & a few other things.
katespade, get the massage. They don't hurt the baby, and are often recommended to decrease pain and stress in mama. I had medically prescribed massages with my last pregnancy. Seriously. And I had one last week which was awesome, and included my legs and feet.
1. How far along are you this week? 13 weeks tomorrow
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? i had another trip back to the ER last week with more bleeding. I went grocery shopping and when I walked out of Costco, I felt a gush and my pants were soaked. And since I also had cramping, we went in to get checked out. We had one ultrasound in the ER and I had to go back the next day for a complete ultrasound. Baby is doing well, very active, measuring around 2 oz with a HB of 152, however I have a perigestational bleed in addition to my SCH which is still present. I am just glad though that we saw the baby and there was a heartbeat. I have been worried. This week we go for our first trimester screen and to do blood work for our harmony test.
3. Questions for the group? not this week
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? I bought a couple of those Blanqi tank tops and some Christmas presents. I think I am going to order a pair of maternity jeans later today and Iād like to get an Uppababy Vista, but the only sales are on colors I donāt want, so chances are very slim.
We got our NIPT screening results back already (less than a week and over the holiday no less!). All looks good! Just need to get through NT scan tomorrow. Also, it's still a boy. Not surprised by any of this since we did PGS testing but I'm delighted nonetheless.
2. Still feeling really good! I'm super slow and winded all the time, but I'm not ultra uncomfortable. Mostly nervous because another week has passed and I've done very little preparation. The only thing I've done since last week is sorted out what of DDs old clothes and diapers I need to throw in the washer, and I washed/wiped down our old RNP, and FP chair. I also cleaned out my car to prep for the car wash and installing the infant seat.
3. nope
4. OMG so much it's so bad. I'm pretty set with gifts for DD, and I've been buying a ton of stuff for the house. I want to pull the trigger on a rug from PBK and a mirror from west elm because the sales there are hard to come by, but it hurts to be spending so much all at once.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Finally got H to talk names! Looks like Dylan is the front runner right now. š Thinking either James or Thomas for the middle.
Had my 24 week appointment today, and all is well. I somehow managed to lose weight this month, even after stuffing myself on thanksgiving. Scheduled my second glucose challenge (ugh) and my next two growth scans (yay!)
3. Questions for the group? Has anyone brought older kids to their ultrasounds? I have to bring my 5 year old to my appt on Jan 2, since heās off from school. My H will be there too, and my son has been dying to see the baby, so Iām assuming it will be fine. (My practice already okād it)
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for?
I bought the Kiinde breastmilk system, and a bunch of zutano booties. Trying not to go overboard since my mom is throwing me a shower.
katespade , I asked my OB about prenatal massages last week and she said go for it. Also, we just used the PNP in our room for the first few weeks. Then we brought it downstairs and still use it with A when we travel.
Any PNP recommendations? Are they all pretty much the same, or are there certain brands that are better than others?

JEALOUS!
Which test did you get done? I had nexgen and haven't found much on it...I think its supposed to take about a week (today is day 7).
Natural Hospital Birth for childbirth (although I did end up having an epidural).
This is exactly the kind of book I wanted. Ive had 1 home birth and 1 birth center and even though I need to deliver in a hospital this time I am still hoping for a natural birth.

It was Nexgen through Counsyl. We had already done genetic screening on DH and I through Counsyl last year so they had our information already. Not sure if that helped speed up the process? My Dr. called me with the results today and I got an email from Counsyl about an hour later with the details.

We have this one. I like the raised mattress in the early days (he slept there in our room for 8 weeks) and it's held up well the first year getting use once a month in our camp trailer.

Thats reassuring! hopefully that means mine are coming soon since yours were quick =)

They're basically all the same. I would look for features rather than brand. Mine is Graco (so actually called a pack n play) and it has the bassinet, and a newborn napper (like a stationary rock n play that sits on top) and a changing station. I like using Graco brand because pack n play sheets are generally sized for Gravo brand playards.

1. How far along are you this week? 11+6 today!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Just still anxiously waiting on the results from Natera. The results only took a week last pregnancy, and it's been 12 days now. Ugh. I really hope we have the results before my appt with the MFM on Thursday. The MFM is three hours away, over some mountains and it's supposed to snow Thursday...so yeah. Should be an exciting drive! Ironically, we moved here to prevent such drives...but at least now we don't have to worry about hitting moose or caribou.
3. Questions for the group? Not this week.
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? I did about 90% of my Christmas shopping online. No baby stuff, though. Last time, I went a little crazy with the shopping after the 12 week mark. When our daughter passed away a few months later, it just about killed me to have to pack all that up (my posts are always so depressing). This time, I've joked that I'm going to make a list of everything we'll need. Once I'm at the hospital pushing, I'll give the list to my mom to go buy everything and set it all up. I'm only half joking, though. It would be a great way to keep her occupied.

I own 2 Graco and 1 Chicco, that I bought for DD. She just outgrew PNPs and moved out of her crib, so they'll be for DS now. The Chicco stays at our house, and one Graco stays at each of my dad's house and his vacation house so we don't have to schlep them every trip.
Our Chicco one I think is the Lullaby LX playard. It has a shallower newborn part that was nice when she was teeny, so we didn't have to bend all the way down to the floor. It felt safer than some of those perched-on-top newborn napper things. Like this:
Ours also had the animal mobile thing and it played music but we never really used those features. We mostly used it as a safe place to put her down and sometimes change her on the first floor so I didn't have to do the stairs to her nursery every time when she was a NB. It was briefly in our room when she first came home, but we quickly found that everyone slept best with her in her crib in her own room.
The two Graco PNPs at my dad's houses were bought for cheap when she was a little older and we weren't really using the extra features. I just needed a PNP to put her down in to sleep safely. I paid like $35 each, one was a basic featured, unpopular color on Amazon, the other was an open box deal at Target. The latter came with diaper changing/newborn napping apparatuses that we never used.
They're mostly the same to me. They work the same, weigh about the same, etc. There are some fancier ones that are nicer/lighter, like the Lotus, that might be worth springing for if you will travel with it a lot. They may also last to a heavier weight/taller height than a basic PNP. For us though, I bought several basic ones for the price of a fancier one and it was ultimately easier for me that way. It depends a lot on how you envision using them.

I want to read through and see where all the good sales are, but DS kept me up all night and would only sleep on or next to me, which apparently angered the baby, who kicked violently.

Ours are similar (we own two gracos) ours had the infant napper and a changing table accessory, though infants are not supposed to sleep in the napper part.

Is Counsyl the lab that processes it or does it go through labcorp?
Nothing on my doctors office patient portal and this weird message popped up on my labcorp account so now Iām worried š anxiety is the worst
namasteak , I did MaterniT21 so I have no experience with Nexgen specifically, but I had the same message from Labcorp ("When can I expect...?") for a while before my results became available and I don't think it means anything specific. I would try not to read anything into it. ETA: I just checked my Labcorp account and actually I have that same message now. I am not awaiting any outstanding results.
I had my draw on a Thurs, and did both NIPT and a 1 hr. GTT at the same time. I was checking my portal really early/frequently (for NIPT timeline standards), because I was hoping to at least get the GTT results quickly. I started seeing that message pretty much right away after I created my Labcorp profile. I got results from the GTT from my OB the following Wed (day 6), and they told me then that they did not yet have the NIPT results. Then I got a 2nd call on Fri morning (day 8) with the NIPT results. Results posted at Labcorp for both tests at the same time on Fri night at like 11pm.

Mine was processed through Counsyl. They did not post my results on their site, though. They only posted that they had been processed and delivered to my doctor's office. Even now, when I log into my Counsyl account, my actual results are not accessible there.

1. How far along are you this week? 37 weeks, 2 days... exactly 2 weeks until c-section!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm so ready to not be pregnant anymore! My feet/ankles started swelling in the evening this weekend.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? When Walmart's deals went live online Wednesday night, we were able to knock out the Santa gifts from my kids' lists. Got a couple video games from Best Buy & Game Stop, and I still need to pick up the scooter I ordered from Kohl's. Also got the camera my daughter was asking for from Staples. I asked for 2 new pairs of Soma PJs, specifically to wear after my c-section in 2 weeks. I have one pair and they are my favorite and have worn very well over the years. I'll probably make an Ulta order tonight, which has hair brushes, nail polish, and lotion- great stocking stuffers that I'll split up for the kids (and me). I haven't gotten anything for the baby yet. Santa may bring diapers.
At my appointment this morning my doctor suggested I go on daily Zantac or Pepcid for the heartburn. Which should I try first? Do you do something else that helps?
Zantac works so much better for me than Pepcid, but everyone is different. My doctor approved meds list has Zantac 150 listed. I was able to take it around lunch, for relief that lasted through dinner/bed. Probably in the past week (I'm 37 weeks) I've had to take it in the morning, and a couple times a 2nd at night.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Had our anatomy scan on Saturday and everything looks great! It was so fun to see little one. They stuck their tongue out a few times and moved around a lot. It was such an experience to feel them move and then see it on the screen as well. It was really nice having a few days off from work. I think my body needed the break.

4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? I bought the travel system and a glider that reclines. Also ordered a new desk for our office space, along with some Christmas gifts.
I ended up ordering a bunch of stuff from Amazon today: Boppy Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper Chicco KeyFit Caddy Frame Stroller Graco Pack 'n Play Reversible Napper and Changer
The only big ticket items we have left to buy now are an extra car seat base and a video monitor.
1. 22+2, eviction date around 3/16 with double blue
2. All long weekend between strangers on the main street, acquaintances, and randos/store owners, all kept telling me I am not going to make it til March and that I already look huge. Why thank you. Not related, but we had a snow day today for a "blizzard" and I'm glad for the extra day to rest even though I'll have to make it up at the end of May.
3.
4. I bought crib mattresses for both boys. Now we need to get our butts in gear and get the cribs put together.
