Dear WPs, I'm free!!! Signed all the paperwork last night. I'm officially a single woman who owns her own home, all on my own. My bank accounts are my own. I don't have to justify any decisions to anyone else anymore. I didn't even cry last night. I just felt like a giant weight had been lifted. Signed, I'll probably cry later
Dear BFF, Thank you for calling me with such an upbeat, happy, excited tone last night when I texted you that it's over. I needed that reaction. Let's drink champagne this weekend? Signed, Grateful for you

twinmomma, I'm glad you feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I hope you can also treat yourself to a massage or something in addition to celebrating with champagne!
Is it normal for a 15 year old to not do much socially? He has friends, and many of them are a year older and are getting their licenses. I hear of them going and doing things, but DS doesn't seem to get invited. He has made new friends his age, but he doesn't do a lot. He seems very content to stay home. He was asked to a Friendsgiving, but didn't tell me until it was too late. I asked why he didn't go, and he says he doesn't know. I told him I went everywhere in high school just to go somewhere. He said, well you had to live with Mamaw. I say, so we have made your home so nice and comfortable for you and we are so pleasant, you would soon stay there, and his response was pretty much.
Signed, not really ready for him to go, but wants to make sure he has a social life.

Dear WPs,
I need some advice. SIL and her family sent the kids' Christmas gifts early, because they are Disney gift cards for the kids to use on our trip next week. SIL asked for Build a Bear gift cards for the 3 older kids of hers (and then we'd buy a gift for the 1.5 year old), but $150 feels like a lot to spend on 3 kids, but maybe I'm just being Scroogy? Is it rude to get gift $30 gift cards for the 3 older kids when they gave my 2 kids $50 gift cards (so spent $100 total)? (As a note, I usually spend around $30-$35 on each of my nieces and nephew. Then we also buy gifts for DH's two cousins' kids (6 kids), and I spend $15-$20 on each of them.)
covergirl82, I don't think it's rude. You spend what you are able to spend. PS - this is kind of why I hate gift cards. It makes it so uncomfortable to know exactly what someone spent.

covergirl82 , I would consider $100 to share for the 3 older kids. if she spent $100 and you are spending $100 in theory that is equal. although I agree with spending what you are able to spend. ETA: $90 vs $100 is close enough so after rereading I think what you are suggesting is fine.
twinmomma, congrats. That seems like it went by quick, but maybe not for you.
rere, I have heard that a lot of teens are not hanging out as much because they are on their phone in their bedrooms chatting with their friends rather than hanging out in person. Could that be it?
I need to answer to a few questions: What is causing my whole body eczema outbreak (allergic reaction to meds, diet, the very cold and dry weather, my fuzzy robes, diet, combo of all of the above)? And how can I make it go away?
waverly, He's not really chatting much. He is on his phone watching stupid videos, like cats falling off things, or the other day it was documentaries on WWI? Or downstairs playing Xbox. I've never allowed TVs or anything in their rooms, so he has no use for his room, so most the time he is right up in the middle of us.
covergirl82 - I would buy an unstuffed animal, record a voice chip with your kids and send a GC for an outfit. Then you control the spend, they get to choose, it’s personalized and they still get the experience.
rere - if you haven’t read Quiet - read it! DD is the same with the exception of going to see two friends, the park, six flags and football games - those will get her out of the house. Her group(s) coordinate other hang out type things and she often opts out. Between golf and school work and her need to recharge and be home - she makes the right choice, but it does make me wonder why she’s here sometimes!
Dear WP, Man down! Actually, 2 men down! DH and DD have some terrible stomach virus. I stayed home from work today to take care of the boys while they recover. FIL is relieving me at 1 so I can take DD to her ADD consultation with the pediatrician. Then I have to head in to work to interview a guy and go watch final presentations for my class. Signed, This is going to be a long day
DH, I know you are grateful to have me here, but if you don't let me sleep tonight, I will cut you. If you are miserable, go watch some TV or something so I can sleep. I don't appreciate the constant whining. DD has whined less than you and she has barfed twice this morning. Signed, Keep your germs to yourself
twinmomma, I'm glad it is over and you can get onto the next phase of your life polecat8, fingers crossed you don't get sick. I would totally make DH sleep on the couch tonight with the reasoning of if you get sick who is going to take care of everyone. rere, I only hung with a couple friends during high school between school, extra curricular activities, and my job & volunteering by 15 I didn't have much energy to go out and do stuff especially when no one wanted to start stuff by 8 and all I wanted to do was crash in my bed by 9.
Dear Stomach/Bowels Will you please get over whatever is going on. I'm tired of feeling bloated, gassy, and miserable. Me who wants to not spend another night sitting in the bathroom
Dear DH Leave me the hell alone in the middle of the night. I don't want you touching me and I don't want you trying to get me horny so you can have sex before work at 4am. Also your new theory of getting me horny in the wee hours of the morning will lead to sex that night. It isn't working and last night you hurt me by pinching by accident and then I spent from 1am to 6am tossing and turning. I already don't feel hot so just let me sleep. Angry cranky not horny wife
Dear doctors and dentists in the TMJ disorder world- First I went to my regular doctor who prescribed anti inflammatories and a soft diet. Then my dentist who did nothing and referred me to 2 TMJ doctors, and told me to take too many anti inflammatories. Both of the TMJ doctors are super quacks who don't bill the insurance and require all the money up front- I can get a medical credit card. I have insurance but they won't bill the insurance. I have to pay and be re-imbursed. Also I read online that the sleep clinic who also does TMJ same thing, pay upfront.
Then I went to the chiro because the TMJ quack irritated my TMJ and didn't seem to give a crap about my pain level Then I went to the urgent care times 2 because of my eczema where the second one said it the TMJ was muscular. In the meantime, I have been seeing a chiro who is the only one who has been helping, and a physical therapist also helpful for my neck and back, but not my jaw. In his defense I was telling him to leave it alone because of the chiro working on it.
So original quack who hasn't bothered to check if my insurance covers it notices I didn't get the MRI, and calls me twice once to see about the appointment and once to cancel because it is a MRI consultation. Note- she still never called my insurance because honestly they don't give a crap whether I get paid only if they get paid even though I specifically asked her to call them.
Note, I tried to ask my insurance and read the coverage language to them, and they wouldn't help me without the billing code. OK thanks people.
Helpful chiro checks my insurance and I do have coverage. I get a rec for a TMJ doctor out of one of the teaching hospitals, and they have an opening for March 7. Why thank you, that is helpful. I am on the waitlist, and I tried to schedule with regular dentist, but they said they might not do the mouth guard because it is different for TMJ which means the whole thing might be an entire waste of time and money, but that is Dec 7.
In the meantime, the Physicians at one of the urgent cares gives me her dentist number, and I have an appointment on Monday with them, so maybe they will help me? But I think they are just regular dentists.
By the way I tried the other dentist and my ortho in the area, and they both referred me to quack doctor.
Is there an orthodontist in your area? That’s who made my mouth guards. I put them in and my jaws immediately relax. My dentist made my replacements when I chewed through my old ones.
TMJ Girl
PS: $300 for mouth guards because they made impressions and then made them.
mommyatty , Orthodontist and 2 dentists in my area referred me to quack guy. I could try second orthodontist if this dentist doesn't work out.... I sent them a message just in case.
I'm not sure why you think having a vagina is a key requirement to being able to put your kid's hair in a pony tail.
Signed, Someone who thinks you're perfectly capable.
When my H is home he is the one responsible for getting DD ready for the day including her very long hair. He can put it in a ponytail but a braid or anything else more complicated-- forget it!
Dear body, This is the second UTI in two months. Can we please stop this? Also, why does my side hurt? Signed, Tired
Dear Urgent Care Dr. Thank you for seeing me and taking an action on the side pain of sending me to get some scans. I appreciate that you made them for the same day, and sent me right over to the hospital. Signed, why do you hurt?
Dear DD, Clothing will not kill you. It is 17 degrees here, no you cannot wear shorts. Please stop crying about it. Signed, It's really cold

I would be happy with a pony tail! He doesn't even bother trying for a headband. Her hair is chin length which means.. it's in her face and covered with food when she gets home unless it's pulled back. "But he's not good at it..."
k3am, my DD started being able to pull her own hair up in a ponytail in 1st and now in 2nd prefers to do it herself most days and I will say it is 100X better than anything DH has attempted in the past. Will she keep her hair in all night if you do it the night before and then does it look okay for school? I do this for the fancy braids for DD.
