A parent of one of C's friends is requesting an annex so she can buy a house in the neighboring crappy county and still have her kids at our school. I didn't know that was an option.....
I learned that BnchaNums either has me blocked or is ignoring me. Not sure which is better. It makes me sad. I love her decorating skills and want her advice.
say what? I responded! Did I miss your response to the color question? I'll go look...

"Consumers don't tend to like crystallized honey," says Jill Clark, vice president for sales and marketing at Dutch Gold. "It's very funny. In Canada, there's a lot of creamed honey sold, and people are very accustomed to honey crystallizing. Same in Europe. But the U.S. consumer is very used to a liquid product, and as soon as they see those first granules of crystallization, we get the phone calls: 'Something's wrong with my honey!'"
I didn't know this either. Don't feel stupid! I thought it was a mixture of a bunch of spices... A-L-L-spice, KWIM?

A lot of middle eastern cooks will use "allspice" and it does mean a mix of spices; each person's was a little different, which is one reason i can't get my food to taste exactly like my grandmothers. (One of many reasons; another is that I suck at cooking.) My mom has hammered this home for me every time I call with a recipe question: "Allspice, or MIDDLE EASTERN allspice?"
