My group of friends/neighbors are having our annual Holiday progressive dinner this weekend and I am in charge of appetizers along with another person. Sadly, DH's grandpa passed away so we won't be able to make it to the dinner this year but I said I would still run to Costco and grab stuff for appetizers. One family is gluten free so while not everything needs to be gf, a mix of things that are and aren't is nice.
I will run to Costco Thursday or Friday night and really don't feel like spending an hour+ there searching for ideas. So does anyone have any tried and true suggestions I can just add to my list before heading there? Frozen, refrigerated, or able to be left out on the counter is all fine! Thanks!
Deli section: Shrimp cocktail ring, mozzarella sticks rolled in Italian meat, tub of spinach dip, various cheeses, assorted crackers (brands seem to change but usually they have some sort of variety box like this) - I've never had it but recently I saw a Mediterranean tapas platter near the cheeses (feta cubes, olives, etc.)

I'm sorry for your loss. Here are some easy things we love to get at Costco:
Not GF: spanakopita (frozen section, heat up in oven)
GF: Whisps (1 ingredient: cheese) Not really an appetizer, but you could maybe set it out for people to snack on? edamame (frozen section) veggie tray olives
Their meatballs are delicious. They were a huge hit at my last party when cooked in BBQ sauce.
I like their layered Mexican dip too (I'm sorry I don't know what it's called, but it's got beans, cheese, sour cream, guac, and IDK what else). It's really tasty and I *think* it is gluten free IIRC.
I bought a great platter a couple of years ago that had olives, feta, red peppers, etc.
And of course they have lots of cheese/meat/cracker options.
Ours had a sampler of 5 different fairly large bricks of cheese for like $17, which is insane because one of the cheeses, the Cabot Clothbound Cheddar, costs more than that alone at our cheese store. The truffle one it included was SO good.
In the freezer section they gave Brazi bites that are GF. They’re yummy little bread bites with various flavors. Easy to bake and throw in a basket to serve with a dip or sauce.

They have those really yummy GF snacking crackers (the thin hexagonal crispy ones) that are awesome with any dip already mentioned.
The Crunchmaster ones? I think they’re currently on sale too, we have to stock up for holiday dips. Our Costco also recently added some sweet potato crackers and saltine -type/cheese-nip size ones that are so good. They taste buttery like non-GF crackers. The brands of both are escaping me.
Yep, crunch master. The sweet potato ones are really good for dipping but are a bit dry on their own.
If you do something like the spinach dip, you could get GF crackers to go with it, in addition to bread. I’d probably do that and something out of the freezer to bake, like the mini quiches, then a fruit bowl and veggie platter if nobody else is bringing that.
