I think it started from a Bump spinoff? I don’t know, anyway, they came over here or we went over there at some point because Booby posts there. And, apparently, some old and current members of GBCN.
ETA: And I read over there when it’s slow over here even though I get really annoyed most of the time, lol.

OH! I remember those idiots. Well, I did as soon as you mentioned booby.

Serious question... Why should I feel badly for anyone who signs up to sell any MLM product? If you’re investing $5,000 into a company, you should do your research and know what you’re getting into. If you’re investing $5,000 into a MLM and hoping to make it rich, or be a stay at home bossbabe mom, I don’t feel sorry for you.
And, look, I think MLMs are some foolish nonsense. But, I have never been in a situation where I needed to make some drastic changes pretty quickly to accommodate life with a child who has special needs so whatever about choosing to sell LLR to make that happen. But, you don’t need to be dishonest about it and make it something it’s not.

Because it's predatory to a certain subset of people, particularly women. People get taken by scams all the time. Yeah, they should do their research, but many people don't. Plus, they really really want to believe the lies. Like farmvillelover, they believe they did a good thing and that they aren't harming others. (I mean, seriously, she actually believes that she did a good thing by not encouraging people. Meanwhile she was here posting about what she was doing with the money she was making.) It's almost like a cult. You get in so deep, and you can believe just about anything. Especially if they see dollar signs in front of their eyes.
And then once we rip on these people, can we have a spin-off talking about the people posting on HIH? I’m bored.
There are some nice ladies over there, I get wanting to post. I’d never be anonymous and therefore booby would be on my ass immediately. What I don’t get is how they are friendly with her, after talking about her here for the past year or more. 🤔 makes me wonder
And miso is still making her annoying polls I see.
And not so subtly talking about her fucking brother any chance she gets.
Anyway, BeeSquared is someone from GBCN, but I can’t figure out who, lol.
TR , there are so many posts on that board. Like WTF are they talking about all day?
I’m jealous they’re busy!
I mean it's like watching paint dry around here lately so a little something would be nice, but even the randoms thread for each day is like 23 pages long by 10AM. I don't know how they keep up!

Is tamb posting over there? She'd about for 4-5 pages by herself.

And I think this nails why MLMs are so predatory and awful. Do I blame Brie for doing what she can to support her family? No, not really. IIRC she was really struggling to balance work and having a kid with special needs and this provided her an option. She's a smart woman and I hope she gets out ok. Again IIRC her husband has a good job so hopefully she won't have any long term consequences for this.
I do hope that nobody who signed up under her, however, was in a worse position at the start and ended up screwed. I don't know anyone personally who put their LLR start up fees and inventory on a credit card, but there are lots out there who never made back their initial investment and are going to be in big trouble for a long time because of it. If Brie pressured any of them to sign up or promised them it was ok to put the fees on a CC - then I judge that hard. I don't know that she did that, though. I do know that when I was a part of her group (and bought a couple of things, even) she never pressured me to buy or asked me to sign up to be a consultant, but I left her group a couple of years ago so I have no idea how it has changed. We're not FB friends either.
I think LLR was truly unique in that people actually made a lot of money selling the product, in the beginning at least. My impression of most other MLMs is that there are very few actual regular customers buying things. It turns out that in the long term, LLR ended up just like the rest, but I can see how people at the beginning had hope this was different. Heck, I generally hate MLM crap and I bought several things from LLR so I can see how affecting their business was.
I find it fascinating, honestly, how otherwise intelligent and rational people get involved in MLMs. It's honestly hard to judge if you take a few steps back because it's basic psychological processes that have caught so many people over so many years! Why do we expect people to be above their human nature? I'm not excusing, just observing.

LOL. I just asked that! I'd love to know where she goes now to post.

Lord knows I have no desire to white knight MLM, but I do think that LLR was uncommonly predatory. LLR business practices were constantly changing and designed to screw people over after the fact. It started USA made, it started 100% money back guarantee, it started free exchanges for defects, etc... and then it all spiraled. For most MLM you might be out $200 in unsold starter kits, but you don't have to worry about the Visa card you get you profits put onto being wiped clean by the company.

This exactly. I feel bad for people like Brie who do it to get out of a hard place, but her success was 100% reliant on screwing over other women in a hard place. She has sold a lot so I'm guessing she could probably donate the rest of her inventory and come out ahead, but the bossbabe with no one under them is not going to be so lucky.
ETA: "Feel bad for Brie" was the wrong phrase, rather I see where she was coming from.
