Did anyone watch this? It aired a month or so ago and is on on demand now and I am just getting to it. Aside from the watergate stuff, I am just floored about how similar in personalities Nixon and 45 were and in what they did. I'm only on episode 2 and it's like I am watching the 45 admin. Nixon was paranoid, obsessed with criticism and the media, he went after journalist (Dan Rather), he discussed taking tv news licenses away. He sent his cronies after anti-war movement people with personal details on them for blackmail. He thought the DOJ and FBI worked for him and not the people. Sound familiar? Obviously he recorded and am sure 45 does too. Crazy!
cous0226 My H DVR’d it & watched it a week or so ago & I popped in occasionally. He was JUST as flabbergasted as you re: how many current circumstances are almost exact mirror images of that scandal. Not even to speak of the fact that today’s crimes are possibly/ probably So Much Worse! (I.e. everything Watergate-related was discovered post-event; whereas, we’re already in so deep, who knows how bad 45’s swampy-pigsty-mess will get!) He’s also way more into Rachel’s podcast/ Agnew insight, so he’s enthralled!
It’s on my “maybe I need to take a sick day” list 😋
