Help! I'm feeling increasing pressure and RPL, which my OB said is to be expected this time around and having had a c-section. I think I'm finally getting to the point where I need a support belt.
Any recommendations? I don't want to waste money on something that sucks or have to try a bunch, if possible, since I feel like this will only get worse.
Do you plan to baby wear? I would find a woven wrap and use that instead of a belt! I did it with #2 and will do it again this time around.
I do, but I plan to use my Bjorn. The wrap never worked for me, plus I don't think I could wear it at work. It sucks, because I actually have like 3 wraps, lol.

If you already have them, try belly wrapping (I posted links in this weeks check in post)!
It's the only one I've ever used, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I've never really liked it. It seems like, to get it to a point where it's actually supportive, it's also uncomfortably restricting.
At pooh8402's recommendation, I started wearing KT tape a few weeks ago, and I've been happy with that. It seems to relieve a lot of the aches and pains I was having, especially in the pelvic area. If I put it on correctly, it's so comfortable that I don't notice it. I googled for information on how to apply it. I basically go hip-to-hip with the tape going underneath my belly. I have two different brands, and one seems tighter (less stretchy) than the other, which I prefer, and is also basically impossible to get off, so I wear the same strip for days at a time.
I had been wearing KT tape and loved it! Until my skin started reacting to it. Within 12 hours of putting it on, I am wanting to claw at my skin it itches so much. Red marks and bumps. It sucks. I hope yall dont react.
My chiropractor told me that it can happen after a person has been wearing it for a few weeks (especially pregnant women), and that if I take a break for a few weeks, I may be able to start using it again and not wear it as much as I used to.
Thank goodness for Blanqi's black Friday sale because between those tank tops and this support belt, I've been able to have good support when I work. I don't like to wear it when I'm not working though.
I've also been sitting on the birthing balls at work to maintain good posture.
ETA: I also tried belly wrapping yesterday and it gave me good support too. I think it will be good on my days off when I'm on my feet more (housework, laundry, shopping) as opposed to yesterday when I was mostly studying.

I was taking breaks from it at first, but since I prefer the brand that's nearly impossible to take off, I've been wearing it nearly full-time. Ugh, I hope I don't have a reaction, because I suspect I've gotten pretty dependent on it. I only have a month or so of pregnancy left, so I don't want to buy another support band!
I don't have a wrap to try. A friend lent me one to try with my first baby, but I was never able to get comfortable with it because my colicky baby screamed whenever I tried it out. (I mean...she screamed most other times too, but it definitely discouraged experimentation!)

The brand I preferred was one that's nearly impossible to get off too. When I restart it, I'm switching to one that is gentler on the skin (marketed to pediatric patients) and plan to wear it for shorter durations.

With my last pregnancy, I ended up in a support belt in the first tri due to either an incarcerated uterus or symphysis pubic dysfunction. I saw a physical therapist rec'd by my OB. She had quite a few different support belts that I could try on to see what I liked best. I'm not sure if that's an option for you, but it was so nice to be able to try on a bunch of options.
Did you guys get the under bust or full tank style BLANQI top? I should have ordered last weekend but couldn’t decide between the 2.
I have both. The underbust, I got at a garage sale. I don't like it because it pushes my boobs up and makes me look like a porn star unless I'm wearing a crew neck tshirt. I prefer the full tank style, although it is tight in the armholes.

I ordered the same belt from amazon, and it arrived yesterday. I wore it for first time today, and it worked decently enough at work (I teach). It does need some adjusting if you sit then stand then sit and stand. It was definitely better than not having anything, so I'll stick with it for now. I paid $10 for mine after cc points. I do have a coupon code for this brand if anyone wants it.
I've been loving my Blanqi tanks. I have the full tank. I can see where the under bust post party ones would be nice for nursing, and I might try those then.
I have a pair of Blanqi leggings too and I like them, though I feel like they give less support than the tanks.
I have a support belt from last time but I don't love it love it so won't bother digging through Amazon to see which one it was. I will likely be buying a new one as I get into third trimester, I'm already having to wear my old one when working out. Just carrying this baby so much lower!

Good to know. I only have 4 weeks left before leave, and my student teacher will be here for 2 of them, so hopefully not too bad.
I just can't believe how differently I'm carrying. I get it, logically, but it's still crazy.
