Not a whole lot. DH and I decided to just spend $100 on each other and then spend around $100-120 on a person we sponsored for the holidays. We are not on speaking terms with DH's family, so that cuts out over half our budget. We'll probably spend about $100 total on my parents and about $50 on my grandparents that I am very close to. We don't have kids. That's it. Oh and I'll probably spend about $30-40 on our dog between Christmas and then her "gotcha day" on Dec. 28. So...about $475 total?
We like to put money away for our summer trip instead of spending more on gifts at the holidays.
well so far I have spent a big whopping $15.00 and that was on wrapping paper. Yeah, I should probably get around to buying gifts pretty soon. My guess for my total spending will be about $800.00
Ugh, haven’t totaled it up yet. Between family, teacher gifts, direct report gifts, housekeeper gift, etc etc etc ... too much.
But I do love giving and enjoy finding and buying the gifts. I should really sit down and total it all up today and try to reign in the remainder of my spending.
My budget is $1300. We don't buy for adults, but have a ton (12) nieces/nephews plus 2 kids. I'm blowing it this year as well because I just decided to take DD to Universal for a weekend. I'm using points for air/hotel/park and we have free breakfast so it won't be much $, but still a couple hundred I'd guess. Plus DH will have to make DS happy that weekend so I'm sure it'll cost there too.
Buying for two kids, H, grandmother, MIL and FIL and SIL, aunt and uncle, two cousins, two teachers, my secret Santa, viv’s school secret Santa, and my student’s wish tree gifts. Plus all the money I spend in my classroom this month on polar express day, gingerbread man day, and student parent gifts : (

Around $1,000 or so. I still need to buy for my 91 year old grandma. I usually do a basket of fresh fruit & veggies (she loves to cook) and a Walgreens gift card (pricey prescriptions and she loves to shop there for fun things too).
DS- $350 or so Gifts between H & I- $300 My Parents- $100 H’s gift exchange- $35 Inlaws- $30 My sister- $30 My family gift exchange- $25 Nieces and nephews- $50 Grandma- $25 Aunt- $25
Total- roughly $1000 conservatively
I would estimate about $1300 including food, baking stuff, teachers gifts, shipping and wrapping supplies.
Between Christmas, purchases for the baby due next month and the anticipated hospital bill for that, I’m ready to not spend money for awhile.
Grand Teton & Yellowstone National Parks. Staying at hotels in the parks. She’s SO excited, this is a bucket list type trip for her.
Enjoy! If you like driving on curvy roads take Teton Pass into Idaho. There's a little town right over the border that has the greatest frappes aka milkshakes on the planet. It's been a couple of years but I recall it was a ~30 minute drive from Teton.
So so much. I’m at the point where I am like ‘what am I doing with my life?’ when I read these posts. Spoiling my kids?? Ugh.
We spend about $500 per kid. Gifts are so expensive, we only get them 4-5 each. But with things like one kid getting a switch, one an upgraded microscope etc, it adds up so fast!
We spend $200 on each other including the stockings.
Kids stockings probably add up to $200. It’s all practical stuff like toothbrushes etc. They get one ornament each, etc. Maybe it’s not this much but likely ends up being close to that for the three.
Only about $300 this year. I only have my nieces and my mom to buy for. H and I decided not to exchange this year. I'm pretty much done shopping unless I just see something awesome.
It feels strange compared to last year when we had 3 foster kids for Christmas. I went crazy last year for them and their mom. They had literally never been able to afford Christmas before. 😢
