DS1 is at MIL’s. DS2 woke up at 6:15, but went right back to sleep when I popped a pacifier in his mouth. It’s 8:30 and he’s still sleeping! So glad this is my day to get up “early” with the kids. Lol
We got a lot done yesterday, so just need to wrap up some loads of towels and sheets and vacuum/mop downstairs.
I’m also feeling semi-motivated to finish the work that I didn’t feel like doing Friday, so that’s a good thing. It would be good to get it done before Monday.
I really limited what I need to do for food prep this week, so all I have to do is pack lunches for the kids.
I might actually get to spend some time reading today! I hardly ever read the First Read books, but the one I downloaded most recently is pretty good so far!

My kid can't catch a break. Last weekend she was sick so we postponed her big cousin sleepover (which was really my sister watching my kids so my H and I didn't get our night out). Last night my sister and nephew stayed over to make up for it and she was so excited and then she threw up this morning. Now I'm trying to give away our $$$ Nutcracker tickets, do a zillion loads of laundry, and my playroom smells like vomit and she's so sad. Ugh. Why!? I hate winter.
I met Shane from MTV's Road Rules(2002!)/The Challenge last night! He was behind the bar at a place we stopped by after my birthday dinner. Could not have been nicer--he suggested we take a pic, bought me a shot, was so kind. I was trying my damnedest not to fangirl, but I watch the show religiously and just couldn't even believe he lives/works in my town. I did not bother him about all the show dirt that I am dying to know, lol.
I thought prime wardrobe came with free UPS pick-up, apparently not. Now I get to lug a ginormous box to the UPS store.
Also, I told DH and the plumber that just replacing the cartridge for the 3rd time in E's bathroom would not fix the problem. Well I just cleaned her bathroom and it's dripping. WTF. I would have rather have them do both bathrooms at the same time, but now we have to figure out what to do for her bathroom. I don't know if it's Delta or the install, but I am so over these issues.
I’ve been making a pot roast all morning and now we’re prepping latkes. Normally we’d do it for dinner but I thought I’d get it over for the day early. It always takes longer than we’d think and no one wants to be grating potatoes at 9 pm.

I was going to get the Christmas cards ready to mail and I can’t find the address labels. DS had them yesterday when I attempted this the first time. Lord knows where he put them and it’s not like he can tell me lol.
Am I overreacting or is it really annoying that part of the snack I have to provide for my toddler’s class this week is 2 bags of grapes quartered and 2 bags of baby carrots sliced up? That shits gonna take me forever and I have so much to do today. This is the third year I’ve had a kid in this class and it’s always been just send the whole fruit in.
I bought some shoes at DSW earlier on the week that I had to return this AM. I got a free blanket because I spent a certain amount. I brought the blanket back with me because it didn't feel right keeping it but they said they cannot take it back and it is mine to keep. It's not like it is some great thing but I felt like I scored with that. LOL!

Quartered grapes seems like overkill. Isn’t halved lengthwise just as safe?
Couldn’t you just slice regular carrots? It would be quicker and easier that cutting up baby carrots.
We're getting hammered with snow today. It started around 6-630am, and by noon we're up to 6-7". This isn't going to stop until sometime between 7-9pm tonight. We went from 1-4" to 4-8" last night. Now we're in the 8-12". At least I know there won't be work tomorrow!
I have soup in the crock pot, and we've been pretty lazy. I kind of wish I had planned to bake something, but I don't need sweets around either.

DS2 has been asking for a bunk bed forever (like, literally for years). He just started in on it again. Seriously considering returning his big-ish Christmas gift and getting a bunk bed instead. He would be so thrilled and it would save me money in the long run.

What is his biggish gift? What would make your life easier lol?

I got an email from work this morning that is sending me into a spiral. I need to either find a way to make these things not upset me or I need to find a new job. I don’t know the likelihood of either of those.
I’m sitting in a McDonalds play space while DS and DD2 run around having a blast and trying not to think of all the germs they are picking up. At least they will both get tired out.
DS is having a hard time this morning. He decided not to go to a birthday party of one of his closest friends because I can’t take him. DH is going out of town today for work - he will be back Thursday.

An Osmo for Kindle. Which he hasn’t seen elsewhere and would probably like but I feel like that stuff’s always a toss-up. DS1 is getting a more expensive electric scooter so I was looking for something to make it even.
I've been out running errands since 7 and have everything I needed out and about done so am heading home for some lunch. Thankfully the stores weren't so busy yet this morning and it's been quite peaceful and productive. Now, if I can just stay productive once I get home.

I too was out early and the stores were not bad at all.
Now that productivity part since I got home......lets just say I hope you are more successful than me.

My snuggly little bearded dragon passed away yesterday. She had stopped eating even her favorite things and I knew it was coming but I had her for 10 years (which is about their lifespan, 8-10) and it's making me really sad today.

I’m sorry! It’s so hard to lose a companion. It sounds like she had a great long life with you!

Unless there are other reasons you don’t want a bunk bed, I would totally return the Omso and get him a bed instead.
I finally got the majority of our books unpacked and put back on shelves. Now I don’t have to stare at empty shelves anymore. DH put up the a Christmas tree 🎄 and I need to run out to get new batteries for the door wreath.
I have to spend the afternoon digging out old papers and pick one that I have enough info on hand to do a 30 min presentation on for an interview on Friday. I can’t use any of my more recent data because it is still being prepped for publication. They also want a 30 min analysis of their one presentations. I’m a bit annoyed about it as the position level doesn’t warrant this much prep.
I finished two fleece tie blankets for my kids this morning and went to Costco and Target. I just realized I forgot something at Target that I need tomorrow so back I will go later on. I’m so irritated.

Can you buy carrot chips instead? Those are way easier with little kids.
DS 1 and I went out for lunch, saw Bohemian Rhapsody, and then just wandered around Barnes and Noble for awhile this afternoon. It was so relaxing, and so much fun. Eleven is an awesome age.
My girls and I walked around the neighborhood last night putting these in mailboxes. They decorated the envelopes and then wore their Santa hats. We had so much fun. I hope we were able to spread some Christmas cheer.

What a lovely gesture! As the owner of the only house on my block that is decorated at all (lights or otherwise), it would make my day to get something like this.
