2chatter, I think I am actually going through puberty for the second time since turning 40. I use more acne pads than my 13 year old daughter, have more cramps, more moody, and sore boobs. Plus, I think I am starting to get a monthly rash. I never thought I would look forward to menopause and the end to this nonsense. Plus Dh bought reading glasses for me yesterday, but I am refusing to use them.
2chatter , I just saw this from last night. That author ended up having cancer, so I don't think she got off too well. But she is in remission.
I too have the eye stuff, have plantar fasciitis, solved the allergic reaction problem only to get TMJ disorder which was likely caused from stress from the pain of the allergic reaction. I solve one thing and then another thing goes wrong. But you definitely have a lot more going on and tons with your kiddos too. I wish I was magical and could make all these kinds of things go away quickly.
The one person who can schedule is out sick. They don’t know when she will be back. The surgeon is out the last week of the month. Surgical prep is three days. This is like a logic puzzle and tells me DS is having surgery next week. He really doesn’t want to miss his Christmas party.
Between now and year end I have a well woman, mammogram, bi-weekly shot appointment and a crown. DD sees the orthodontist and her GI doctor. All three kids see the dentist. My mom has a counseling appointment and I have to be there to check in. Oh, and there’s Christmas. And I have a ton due at work. I’m facilitating a Girl Scout Bronze meeting - in my home - in 20 minutes and I am on skype with a colleague trying to get a straight answer to an issue. Hope the parents like crushed gingerbread houses and frosting as kitchen decor.
Also, I found out I’m allergic to crab. You know, something I have eaten for my whole life.
What bothers me the most? That only one person can alter the GD surgical schedule.
I am pretty sure that the Christmas party this weekend will be epic. Stress relief for me.
I wish I could waverly - I’m already nine months late for my well woman (oops) and of course, am having an issue (TMI) so am actually looking forward to it.
I’m just pretty salty about no back up scheduling person. I need to KNOW!
186momx Ugh with the lice. DD had it in September. I am still traumatized. I still refuse to let anyone share a pillow and still not convinced it will come back somehow. DD is going to the movies tomorrow at school and we are all going Saturday. I will pull her hair up, put tea tree oil around her neck and mine, plus bring large sweatshirts to fit over the seats so our heads are not touching the headrest. I realize I will look like an insane person, but I am good with that.
2chatter, ditto with the scheduling. I called for DS Friday and am still waiting for the call back to schedule. Called once in between and they say he has been put in, whatever that means.
rere, DD said her entire quad of 2nd and 3rd grade classes are infected. Her teacher removed the rug, floor pillows, and did a lesson on what lice look like and their life cycle yesterday. The nurse rechecked heads and kids that parents were called on Tuesday saying they had lice and still had live bugs on them were taken to the nurses room and she treated them herself. Parent not dealing with the problem is the biggest issue I think right now. Aftercare is going full blown prevention and all the kids stuff is being stored in plastic bags and the recommended tea tree oil.
The dog had a bath yesterday and my groomer friend gave me a white flee comb. It worked 10X better last night than the purple nit comb that came with the kit my dad got me. I have the good nit comb coming from Amazon tomorrow. DD is sporting some very fancy up-do hairstyles for the foreseeable future.
186momx, I got the Terminator Nit comb from Amazon and it was much better than anything that came in the kits. Was using it on the regular until a few weeks ago. That and the LiceFree seemed to do the trick...*knocks on wood*….*hopes the lice don't hear*….
186momx, lice aren’t that contagious. Until I read that there are FLOOR PILLOWS. Omg. That’s the lice breeding ground. I would pitch a screaming fit over that and forbid my kids from being in the same vicinity as the floor pillows. Why the F does a class need floor pillows? I mean, lice aren’t great jumpers. They have short little legs. So you pretty much have to put your hair on top of them to get them. Which I’m sure all the kids are doing when they use the floor pillows.
mommyatty, the can spend their dojo bucks (individual class points) to have reading time on the comfy floor pillows instead of sitting at their desks. 10 kids in her class of 21 have lice not including the kids in the other 2nd grade class or the 3rd grade classes.
They are supposed to have a pj, stuffy, blanket bringing party on the 21st and I already told DD she can only wear her PJs.
