Babies room has old carpet over the original hardwoods. We pulled the carpet partway back and it is in great shape just like our master (which now has no carpet, looks great and floors weren’t even refinished).
Should we pull the carpet up or leave it for some noise absorption?
I think it's personal preference. We had all hardwood in our old home when E was born, and put a rug in his room. Now we have carpet in all bedrooms, by choice (we pulled up the cork planks and transplanted them elsewhere in the house). I plan to get carpets shampooed soonish because dogs, but I'll not going to worry about it too much.
Depending on how old that carpet is (I believe yall moved in recently), I would probably pull it, or at least get them deep cleaned, just because you don't know what the previous residents did in there.

It is 10 years old. We used my moms steam cleaner when we moved in and it’s better but still has some stains (it’s beige).
I prefer hardwood with an area rug (too many pets for carpet!) but this is my first kid so I can't speak to the noise thing and whether that would be helpful.
Hardwoods are a darker brown like in our sadly decorated master That yellow dresser can go in the nursery too since I’m not sure the big white dresser/changing table we were given will fit once a crib and twin bed are in there. Plus it matches the yellow in the rug !
Carpet and padding are pulled up, tack strip is halfway pulled up and tomorrow is the hard part (pulling up staples).
Just like in our master, we got lucky the floors are in such good condition AND they sparingly used staples at the perimeter (with a few in the middle)) that we will be able to wait to refinish when we do the rest of the house!
I can’t believe they covered that floor up with carpet!
I KNOW!
My best guess is because the 3rd bedroom is an extension so it doesn’t have the hardwoods underneath and they didn’t want it to be the only room with carpet so they put it in all the bedrooms.
