Not a bad idea but I don't think I want the crib right next to the bed. Unfortunately the wall across from the 2 window wall is a closet.
And I know, I love the light in this house. The white walls will definitely need frequent touch ups but gives such a nice light/open feeling.
A wall of closets is tough! We have similar obstacles in our house. What about the crib on the double window wall (would need great blackouts), the dresser between the 2 windows and bed to the right of double windows. The chair in either corner.
That dresser won’t work between the windows but it is big enough for a dresser! I just need to find one 🙂
The blinds have blackout lining but there is a halo effect so I think I would still do curtains if I can figure out how to hang them. Like in the rest of the house, they are close to the ceiling and the mounting is big enough I can’t fit a support bracket behind it (in the middle of the window).
mskitkat How often do you have family stay with you and for how long each time? I'd probably move your DD to the larger room and get a full or queen size bed and have family stay in her room (if it's not too long, a night or two here and there in either your room or baby's room might be ok). Or I'd get a day bed like the Ikea hemnes to put in the baby's room as a place for people to sleep.
People stay with us for a week at a time twice a year and long weekends maybe 4-5 times/year.
If only we hadn’t *just* bought DD’s new twin bed. This pregnancy was a surprise. Although I suppose we could return it and she could sleep on the queen bed.
Is the smallest room big enough that you could do a bed (or day bed that pulls out to a larger bed or a twin with trundle) and a wall of wardrobes for the storage? Or could you make DD's twin bed into a trundle?
Or do you have space downstairs for either a pull out couch or a nice air mattress? I'd hate to have one of the larger bedrooms dedicated to a guest space for such a short amount of time that people would use it. I'm all about making guests comfortable, but within the realm of reasonable. We're currently getting rid of the queen bed that is in the future nursery and have some family members complaining that we're not moving that bed into our basement (we currently have an ikea sectional that pulls out to a bed - it's a little hard but we have a topper on it that makes it sleepable). We may look into a different option, but wayyyyy on the bottom of my to do list.
But it sounds like the easiest option if you can fit crib/dresser/glider in the smallest bedroom is to do that.

Then I think your layout works the best! Another option would be to center the crib between the double window and corner, put the dresser on the opposite wall, and glider in the corner where the swing/car seat boxes are? It's a great size room.
