sdlaura, if DD brushes her teeth in the morning it is a miracle. She doesn't eat until later is my feeling. I even brush my teeth at the office after I eat breakfast.
rere, that is my DH to a tee. He gets up at 4:30 dinks around on Facebook, dozes, plays games, leaves at 6:00 to drive the 15 minutes to work where he will eat his pop tarts and listen to the radio, he doesn't start until 7:30. When he lived with his parents he would get up at 4 and watch VH1 or the history channel for 2.5 hours before leaving for work. It drives me bonkers.
I actually get up pretty early each day to work out but the end result is that I go to bed pretty darn early so I'm usually in a mad dash to get all chores done before I run out of energy.
mustardseed2007, anywhere from 8-12. When he goes to bed early he tosses and turns for hours which makes it so when I go to bed at 9 I can't fall asleep. If he has a project or gets wrapped up in the TV/tablet he can stay up super late and 4 hours of sleep is no issue for a few days then it causes cranky DH. I will say that he is generally quiet both at night and in the morning so us girls can sleep.
Kids (10 and 6) get up about 40 minutes before we get out the door. Rule is they have to be dressed to eat. They eat either bagels with Nutella or cereal and fruit. Brush their teeth and grab their lunches. Absolutely no screens allowed in the AM cause that would derail the entire system. There is often loud delivery of reminders, brush hair, teeth, get lunch, grab hats, etc..
sdlaura, sleep in her clothes is genius! Half the time she takes off her pajamas as soon as she gets into bed and sleeps in her underwear because she's too hot but we shall see if this works.
mellym, I wake the kids an hour before we need to leave, and 9 times out of 10 I'm screaming like a banshee that IF THEY DON'T MOVE I WILL BRING THEM TO SCHOOL WITH NO SHOES SO HELP ME GOD!! Some days they're on point, and others the just can't get out of their own way. I keep dangling the idea of sleeping later in front of them as incentive to get their acts together in the morning, but so far, we're still at an hour and barely making it.

2chatter Sorry, I hear you. I don't know why I had it in my head you were trying to get it to a donation site yourself. My headboard sat leaning up against the wall in my bedroom for way too long for the exact same reasons. Hope your kiddos are feeling better soon and you get a break.
I'm always amazed that there are people who have to wake their kids up. My kids did not get that memo.
Without fail, my kids only wake up early on weekends. Every weekday we have to drag them out of bed, but as soon as it's the weekend, they are up at 6:30.

My kids have recently started staying in bed until 6ish on weekends. Whatever parent is awake heads downstairs and puts on PBS and sleeps on the couch... they’ll usually be content until about halfway thru Bob Ross at 8am - DS is not a fan, but DD loves him.
They actually sleep in later on weekdays because they hate me. DD has a homemade version of an okay to wake clock that she finally listens to and DS usually stays in his room until he knows she’s awake.
I keep reminding myself that for years, it was a 4:30am wake up daily and 6 is better than nothing. And promising myself that when they’re teenagers, I’ll make up for it.
I am grateful for our "ok to wake" clock and the fact that my kid is such a rule follower. He must be staring at the clock until the moment it turns green because that kid is at our bedside 1 minute past six every day.
Crossing my fingers that DD is the same way when she gets older.
The printer set up in my house sucks terribly. DH set it up and thinks he is an awesome genius. I typically will do anything to avoid like print to Walgreens or at work. I really can only get the B/W printer to work so most picture assignments are in black and white. Oh well teacher that gave me 2 hours notice.
DD1 and I talked last night about how can we get her moving in the morning. Her response was that she loves to stay up late and sleep in. I get it but you need to go to school kid. I asked her about sleeping in her clothes and she loved the idea. She was up an hour before the bus came and even ate breakfast this morning. I feel like it's a roller coaster with her.
waverly, we don't have a printer at home. Teachers will print pictures off if we send them the file.
Next week we have class Valentine parties, parent teacher conferences, and the PTO decided they should schedule a teacher appreciation lunch day (which they do at LEAST once a month). They are short on volunteers. So I commented on FB that working parents can’t take off three days in a week for things like that, so perhaps it would be better to not schedule the luncheons on weeks like that one. Tons of likes and agreement from the other parents. I probably pissed off the PTO leaders (aka the Mean SAHM Clique). Ask me if I care.
Spoiler Alert: only if by “care” you mean “really hope so”.

DD used to bring hers in to tell us it wasn’t working. No, it just wasn’t turning green at 3am....
mellym, I am sure she would have printed it, and I should have sent it last night, but I was being prideful. And I also didn't know what time her lesson would be and if she would have time before the lesson to print them.
DH was a spectacular asshole last night. On left, he was also a giant jerk last year. Does he have an .... apology pattern from Loft??! Two navy polka dotted shirts and two ruffled sleeveless shirts?? Do I return the new navy polka dotted shirt? Love the cut, don’t need two of them though?

I guess return it. Dislike he’s an ass, but like that he tried to make up for it. It’s funny that it is in Loft clothing.
Your husband buys you clothes?!? He’s a brave man. Mine would never attempt it. It would probably just nail the door on the doghouse and he’s smart enough to know it.
I’d return it unless the old one needs to be replaced. No one needs two nearly identical polka dot shirts.
DH buys me all my favorite clothes, with a few total misses along the way. I thought the shirts were soooo similar and DH was like “the colors are not exact and the dot shape - one is more casual and this one is pullover and the other buttons, totally different.” It’s sanity producing to hear they are almost the same shirt!
DH’s ongoing argument to me with clothes is that the only people who notice subtly differences like that are way too involved.
So either that says something about YH or people in my office have noticed that I’ve worn the same black pants 3x this week already. Now I’m worried.
I do the same on pants. I would not say that anyone should copy me in anything clothes related, so this post is more to express relief that you're doing it.
My H would also never buy me clothes, and if he did he would never say that one of those two shirts is more casual than the other. But....I had purchased two shirts that I later realized were very similar. One was from Old Navy and one was from Loft. I kept the one I liked the best and donated the other.
FFTC I absolutely suck at getting returns completed. When I do it, it's like a miracle from heaven/next level adulting that happens once a quarter or something.
DH loves to buy me clothes, as long as it has a Nike or Under Armour symbol on it. That seems to matter to him, but not so much to me. When I work out or run, I don't really care what I look like. The only thing I am picky about is I have to have Nike running shorts. But I will wear them, and any other ratty Tshirt or tank, in public, until they are falling apart. DH is usually appalled and will use gift buying time to replace my workout gear with nice, name brand things that I hate to spend money on myself.
