2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Viability, yay! On the vent front, I'm so tired of being incredibly tired (I know I'm a broken record here). I pretty much have the same sleep schedule as my 2 year old these days (10 hours a night, 3 hour naps on weekends) and I'm still the walking dead. I'm training for a half-marathon next month and while I'm able to complete the long runs no problem it completely wipes me out for the rest of the day. As soon as that's over (3/10) I'm scaling back for sure.
3. Questions for the group? nope
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Hopefully a repeat of my first labor, which was intense and painful before the epi (ok, i could do without that part ha) but then blissful and easy after. I just read and napped and then pushed for 15 minutes and he was here. That again please!
My mom lives an hour away so she'll come wrangle DS. If things progress quickly she can meet us at the hospital, but I was in labor 24 hours last time so I doubt it will come to that.

1. How far along are you this week? 37w5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week?
AW: We FINALLY got DD's room painted and it looks amazing with the furniture. Can't wait to hang everything up this week. I also just let our photographer know to expect us in the next two weeks and she's pulling some swan backgrounds to go with DD's room theme, which is cute. Our pictures of DS dressed as a little fox are my favorite.
Vents: I have a cold, which is making sleep even harder, if that's possible, and I have a NST and checkup with the cardiologist because of my gallbladder and heart flutters. At least it's by H's job, so we'll have a lunch date
3. Questions for the group? No.
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Scheduled c-section in 9 days!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? My GBS came back negative, yay. Nursery is almost done, just need wall art and the new duvet cover I ordered. My mom and stepmom are coming in this weekend for my shower, yay! Ultrasound this week. Sibling class at the hospital tonight.
3. Questions for the group? No
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Healthy mom, healthy baby, and give me all the pain meds. Honestly, I still dont know whether we're doing a scheduled c/s or trying to labor. If it does end up being a c/s, I'll probably ask for the drape with the clear window so I can watch. ETA: I have requested one of 2 anesthesiologists to do my anesthesia.
1. How far along are you this week? 23+6 - viability tomorrow!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Last week I was sitting on the couch and when I got up, there was a small fish of fluid, enough to soak my pants. I know I didn’t pee, since I didn’t have to go to the bathroom and it came out of a different area, but when I told my doctor about it, he kind of brushed it off. I am sure he is convinced I peed my pants and am just dumb. He said that if I get any more leaking, go to the hospital so they can test it. Now, I am freaking out at everything, I can’t feel her moving enough, is that leakage or discharge? I just want to be done and for her to be out.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Nothing but get through labor! Ha! We need to schedule a hospital tour and decide if we want to do prenatal classes, then maybe think about a birth plan.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I picked out the paint color for the nursery and got a coat of paint on the old wood trim. I would have liked to get everything out of there, but oh well. Next weekend.
Emailed our photographer about maternity/family photos.
Told H I've decided on Marshall. He isnt thrilled, but I don't necessarily think he will come back with a veto. If only because I told him he has to go through the SS name list and come back with a list of options.
3. Questions for the group? Not really
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Repeat c section for 39+1. Technically I qualify for a vbac, but only by a month or so. Me, H and my OB were all happier passing on that opportunity.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? The hormones and constant discomfort/lack of sleep are getting to me. I cried over the weekend because I dropped something and then had to pick it up. So much fun 😂
We start birth classes tonight, and I'm kind of nervous!
3. Questions for the group? Is anyone putting together a basket of treats for your nurses? Is this normal? If you do it, what do you put in, and do you leave it in your room?
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? All the drugs and get the baby put safely!
1. 23+5. Getting so close to viability, which is such a nice milestone to hit!
2. AW: This weekend we finished painting the nursery and re-set up the crib, infant dresser with changing table, etc. that used to be in DD's room. I feel so prepared, lol. There's even a box of NB diapers in the closet. I painted the room myself, and all the up and down on a ladder, then up and down off the floor kicked my ass. But I am glad it's done. Now for the more fun part of decorating it.
I have my 24 week OB app't on Wed., and plan to ask for the order to take my 1 hr. GD test earlier than the 28 week "normal" time at my practice, so we can catch it earlier this time if I have it again. Fingers crossed.
3. I'm mostly wondering aloud whether I should get a double stroller or not, my kids will be 3.5 years apart. I feel like we will not use it super frequently, but when we do it will be clutch (which is mostly how I feel about our single strollers), mostly for napping on the go.
4. TBD. I would really like to repeat the spontaneous labor and med free birth that I had last time, but I am worried about how fast #2 might come. My OB is also concerned, and already started angling toward wanting to do an induction at 39w due to history of precipitous delivery. I really don't like the idea of an epidural, and would rather not labor in the hospital for as long as an induction might take. I have really mixed feelings and am trying not to think too much about it at this point.
3. Questions for the group? Is anyone putting together a basket of treats for your nurses? Is this normal? If you do it, what do you put in, and do you leave it in your room?
Yes it is normal. I'm not putting together baskets, but planning on buying a bunch of bagels and schmear for them to have in the break room. Last time, I got kolaches for night shift and day shift, both L&D and postpartum/nursery units.
I can tell you, we really appreciate it. I just ask that if you do this, don't single out the nurse(s) actually assigned to you. It makes it more difficult to accept gifts since we're not supposed to unless it benefits the unit as a whole. Besides, we are all watching everyone's strips. I've had several patients put various snacks (protein bars, chips, candy bars, etc) in a basket in their room with a sign that says, "take some." The thing is, if it's not my patient, I may not ever see that basket. Or if I do, it will be during the actual delivery, and I'm going to want to scrub my hands with soap and water before taking a piece, which means I'd never go back to the room after scrubbing. So maybe something that can go in their break room so everyone can have some.
Nursery is done other than putting away things we may get at the baby shower this weekend. We knocked out so much housework this weekend, I am feeling so relieved. I hate things like that hanging over my head. We also finished DD’s room update this weekend so now both kids have nice rooms.
We had a good weekend and I honestly felt pretty good all weekend. I’m tired today though. Blah, work.
No questions.
No birth plan here. I am having a c-section and just want everyone to make it through ok.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? DS' big boy room is officially painted! Next step is to order some mattress protectors so I can put the bedding on. I am so glad I splurged on the PBK bedding. It's going to look adorable. I'm glad we did it early so I can just focus on decorating, organizing and letting DS start to play in there a bit before we evict him from his crib.
I picked up a bag of newborn size summer clothes from FB BST. I can't believe DS ever fit into that size. It is SOOOO tiny. Also--$8 for a fairly large number of pieces is the way to go. LOL
Nausea seems to be (hopefully) fading, but I'm still really tired. Hopefully that starts to fade too.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? I had a c-section with DS because he was breech. We're going to try for a VBAC this time, but if I don't go into labor on my own by 41 weeks they are doing a c-section (they won't induce me). I've already come to terms with the fact that it will probably be a c-section which is a bummer, but what can you do.
As for childcare for DS we haven't really hashed out the details, but most likely we'd call my parents at the first sign of labor and they would drive down (4-5 hours) to stay at our house with DS and the dog. If we need DS picked up from daycare or something we'd have my in-laws who live 15 minutes away pick him up if my parents can't get there in time.

1. How far along are you this week? 12 weeks
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week?
We found out that we’re having a boy!!! I was a bit surprised but I’m excited.
We also went stroller shopping to test out ones and we found one we loved. It’s pricey but so perfect for our lifestyle. Also, I am ready to eat food again. Barely anything sounds appealing these days. Sigh. Everyone keeps asking for bump shots but I have no bump! Maybe eventually but not yet. Oh and my in laws are flying/helping all of us to Italy in October for 2 weeks and they keep asking if I’ll be good. I don’t know! I’ve never had a baby!
3. Questions for the group?
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Not a full one but I am likely going unmedicated at a birthing center. All the delayed cord clamping, immediate skin to skin, etc is standard here so already guaranteed.
3. Questions for the group? Is anyone putting together a basket of treats for your nurses? Is this normal? If you do it, what do you put in, and do you leave it in your room?

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Feeling so good....lots of great workouts, enjoy the beautiful weather we've having (I'm in Florida) and the changing table/dresser comes this week which is the last piece of nursery furniture.
3. Questions for the group? Like latte, I have so much fluid today. It's not gushing, but it's definitely not pee. It's freaking me out because I leave today for a week long work+baby shower trip.
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? I am going for a med-free (as possible) birth and have hired a doula team to help me get there. I certainly have "goals" and preferences that I'm setting myself up for, but also prepared to make other decisions should things go sideways. I know if possible I'd like to labor at home as long as possible, have only periodic monitoring once at the hospital, delayed cord clamping and bath, and of course immediate skin to skin. That's my ideal, and the rest will fall as it may.
Is anyone putting together a basket of treats for your nurses? Is this normal? If you do it, what do you put in, and do you leave it in your room?
With #1, I passed on all the cutesy, pinteresty pre-prepared stuff, and just had H pick up a box of good donuts for the postpartum nurses on my last morning. They weren't in my room, I think he brought them to the nurses station? I would do that again, but nothing more elaborate.
I was in L&D for less than an hour, so I don't really remember who took care of me. I didn't send anything over there. Under different L&D circumstances I might.

1. How far along are you this week? 8w 4d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have only gained a pound but I feel as though I have popped already. This STM stuff is no joke. We have our first visit with a doctor on Thursday so hopefully my bloodwork comes back with good news (I had early titers taken for Parvovirus immunity since DD likely exposed me). I am also anxious to hear a heartbeat since other than my rapidly expanding uterus my symptoms have been much fainter to nonexistent at this point as compared to my first pregnancy.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? I am meeting with a midwife next week. I intend to give birth in the hospital but I’m hoping to have a med-free birth this time around due to some post-natal complications that arose after DD related to my epidural. I’m also hoping to be able to leave the hospital ASAP since the stay was brutal last time and I know I will be giving birth in peak season.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Hmmm, I started working on getting DS's room ready for sharing with DD's stuff by moving a big piece of furniture out of his closet. Now to decide what to actually put in there for DD and what I actually need to get for her in terms of dresser, changing table, etc.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Same as last time. Med free, natural labor. If the second one really comes faster than the first then we won't spend as much time at home as last time. My mom is planing to stay with DS and she only lives 20 minutes away.

latte, we are doing the bugaboo bee. We live in the city and exclusively take public transit and/or walk. We also live on the 3rd floor with no lift so it’s light and easy to carry up and down the stairs or fold up and leave down there. It was small to maneuver through these crazy streets. I also like the resale value and longevity of the bugaboo brand.

1. How far along are you this week?29w 6d with twins
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I mentioned in last week's thread, but I'm back in the hospital due to PLT. Today's MFM says she's hopeful we won't deliver this stay, but as my contractions are only barely controlled on tocolytics and I have to go off them at 6 tonight, so we'll see what tomorrow brings.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? I have to have a c section and the babies are going to be premature, so the only thing I want is to see the babies before the NICU takes them and for them to try to save my uterus if I hemorrhage again this time. I also want them to remove my abdominal cerclage, but today's MFM says she thinks that's unwise given the probability of bleeding.

1. How far along are you this week?
25 weeks today.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? The same complaints as always, lol. Everything hurts and I'm always tired. The exhaustion is unreal.
3. Questions for the group? None.
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? I'd like to avoid an induction. That's about as far as my plan goes. I'd also like to avoid an epidural but I'm open to getting one if I need it.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have had a cold for 2 weeks and its driving me crazy! OB isn't concerned but I'm so tired of it. I am trying to plan a "last hoorah as a family of 4" but don't want to spend a ton of money. I think we are going to do 1 or 2 nights at GWL.
3. Questions for the group? Not right now but I'm sure I will.
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Get to the hospital as soon as I know I'm in labor so I don't have the baby in the car. Ask for the wireless monitor, lights low and to be left alone as much as possible. I'm hoping to find an cheap birth stool I can bring with me since the hospital doesn't have any (although they do have squat bars on the bed!)
FishChicks, I lurk here, but my DD was born via emergency c-section at 31 weeks and taken to the NICU. As long as baby (in your case babies) are OK and you are not under general, they will likely let you see them before they are whisked off. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Solidarity. Where is our 2nd tri energy?!? This is total BS.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I haven't felt any movement yet and I'm getting anxious. With my second, I was feeling a lot at this stage. At my last scan they told me the way my placenta is located will make it harder for me to feel movement early on, which explains it, but it still sucks.
3. Questions for the group? Not right now
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Yes, same birth plan as with my previous two: go to hospital, get epidural, have baby. Lol.

Ugh this is so true! I thought I would be feeling better by now!
At least my kids think "boy sized food" (aka mini tacos, pot stickers, etc) is the best thing ever and are happy to eat it.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? So over being pregnant. So ready for baby to be here. Put together the high chair this weekend! I miss wine so much.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Do you have a birth plan? What is it? Keep baby and I safe and healthy! Due to my hydrocephalus I go in to get monitored as soon as I start have contractions. Definitely getting an epidural, and plan on a vaginal delivery unless a c-section becomes necessary for our safety.
Kinda praying I go into labor while my son is at school so I don’t have to worry about childcare. My mom is our childcare otherwise but I’m nervous about being able to reach her.
