Post-Transfer Question

So since this is the first time we actually made it to a transfer, I've been wondering how getting your period works if your transfer isn't successful? Will it come on its own, even with taking Estrace & PIO? Or will it not come until after you stop all that? I guess I'm just wondering if I should be looking for a period before my beta happens. Right now I'm kind of in that stage where I kinda hope I see a little spotting because I feel like it could be implantation bleeding...but then my mind kicks in and is like, but it could mean a period too.

This TWW is not for the faint of heart...I am literally analyzing every little twinge, tickle or pinch. And I told myself I wouldn't test until late next week (I'm traveling for work Tue-Thur and don't want to deal with seeing negatives when I have to be away from home and present in front of a room full of strangers), but now I'm getting antsy. Ugh! What's the earliest any of you have tested?

Good Luck!!!!! I go in tentative next week for transfer (FET). I think the TWW is going to be worse when doing IVF than with my IUI's.

Mine came on its own even with progesterone, but for some people, the progesterone had to be stopped before they got a period.

Expect it to be wacky. Lighter than usual or heavier than usual, shorter or longer...

The earliest I have tested after a transfer (fresh or frozen) is 5dp5dt, but the earliest I've ever had positives is 7dp5dt.

For most people the PIO will delay their period until they stop it.

With my cycles I tested at 6dp5dt and 7dp5dt.

I tested positive at 5dp5t with my first transfer (loss)
Tested positive at 5dp5dt with my second transfer.
Tested negative at 5 and 6dp5dt before getting a faint positive on 7dp5dt (CP)
Tested for the first time at 6dp5dt on this one and got a positive.

If you can hold out, but want to test early, I'd try to wait until 7dp5dt (although clearly I've never done so)

I have never had implantation bleeding or spotting.

It depends on the period. I've had it start while still on progesterone. I've also been told to stop progesterone once I get a BFN or negative beta and had my period start a day or so later. Also I never had implantation spotting.

I honestly hate testing at home. I hate seeing BFNs since I've seen so many over the years, so I rarely test early. In the past, for my first IVF I tested right before my beta and it was negative and then so was my beta. So I was crushed twice, because I thought for some reason my beta would be different than the home test. The second time, I just never tested and waited for the nurse to call with my beta results. That time they were positive and I bawled on the phone.

I'm not sure what I'll do this time, but itll probably be one of those 2 options again. I like living in ignorant bliss and hoping I'm pregnant as long as I can before that hope is crushed.

I don't get my period until I stop PIO (5-7 days after stopping.)

I usually test on 5dpt because I have no chill.
The two cycles I've gotten positives (both CPs):
#1: negative at 5dp5dt, didn't test 6dpt, very clear positive 7dp5dt
#2: positive at 5dp6dt

I've never had any implantation spotting.

Thanks ladies! I know the implantation spotting is a long shot...but it's a little something to hold onto lol. I also had DH order some low HCG tests on Amazon today. We'll see if I can actually hold out till next Thursday or if I test once they arrive.
