“But we haven’t been given the equipment; we haven’t been given... The WALLS. And in this bill, by the way, we have so much money, we don’t know what to do with it! I don’t know what to do with all the money they’re giving us; it’s crazy! The only place they don’t wanna give us much money, 1 Billion 375 million dollars Sounds like a lot but it’s not so much although we’re putting it to much better use than it used to be (😠). Lot of the past admin’s they didn’t Build or they didn’t DO what they couldn’t done. It would’ve been great. It would’ve been great to do it earlier but I was a little new to the job (in a baby voice) a little new to the profession...” (smirk)

Sorry. Too wacko for words; I had to. He’s speaking in this strange sing-song-y tone, where he emphasizes the last words per phrase (hence caps). Dude has lost it. 😐 (not that this is so far gone from previous actions, just woah...)
“And then we’ll get sued & they’ll sue us in the ninth circuit even though it shouldn’t be there. And we’ll get another bad ruling, & we’ll end up in the Supreme COURT, & hopefully we’ll get a fair SHAKE, & we’ll win in the Supreme COURT, Just like the BAN, They sued us in the 9th circuit & we LOST & then we lost in the appellate DIVISION, & then we went to the Supreme COURT, & we WON.”
"President Donald Trump on Friday declared a state of emergency on the southern border and immediately direct $8 billion to construct or repair as many as 234 miles of a border barrier."

I only listened to the fist 10 min of this, but he was basically saying how great everyone was doing (and random compliments on China and "Russia has been helping us." but a shoddy shout out to South Korea). So how much of his speech can be used in court against him? He basically lied about the ports of entry and then the whole "you can't smuggle women in trucks at border crossings because our border patrol are soooo good" ish was so odd. I mean he even said they just "broke up - are breaking up" two caravans with the help of Mexico... so if all this stuff is happening already under the current budget, then what was his actual reason for the emergency? It just read like a 4th grader's debate paper where they had to take the side they didn't agree with and didn't know how to do that.

I know this has been discussed, but remind me where all this national "emergency" funding will be pulled from.
Other defense funds.
NPR mentioned an example to include repairs to a base in Florida (Tyndall) that was destroyed by hurricane Michael. Somewhat funny since that area is very much Team Trump.
I’m also stuck watching it but at least everyone near me is cracking up at how loony this all is.
It’s also very sad we’re all laughing at the President.
Who just committed us to billions of dollars for a non-issue "emergency." This is ridiculous - we have to laugh to not cry. Especially when he could spend that money on people here in the US who need services, of mental health care, or schools, or training. Ugh.

I know. The office is so diminished and that’s what saddens me. I cannot imagine a group of strangers laughing through a previous President’s national emergency declaration.

Because there would have been some sort of national emergency.
Orwellian double speak had nothing on this guy. And I thought W was an expert with his "clear skies initiative" increasing pollution and the rest of that crap.
In positive news, Peter Alexander should be commended for asking the question that will probably single-handedly cause Trump to lose his case. Answer was essentially “I didn’t have to do this but I wanted it done faster.”
I saw this on Twitter earlier but didn't post it because there was no source, just a mention.
So we're taking money AWAY from anti-drug task forces ... to reduce the flow of illegal drugs coming in?
CNN just confirmed. Most from DoD anti-drug trafficking programs, some from Treasury anti-drug trafficking programs.
These programs full of experts or experienced DoD personnel were already allocated $$ for defense on drug trafficking weren't building walls b/c they looked at their feasibility or cost-benefit vs. returns and decided it wasn't a prudent way to go, right? So what's the likelihood that the diverted money then gets to be allocated by the same DoD personnel and will end up in other security measures they were already planning on instead of thousands of miles of walls?
Does the Emergency status ease all the property rights problems? Will they still need to eminent domain/fight in court a million different people who own the land that the wall would be built on, thus delaying the actual building indefinitely?
