Im up. I am supposed to have a 60 minute run, but i tripped and fell really badly yesterday while running, and my knee is pretty badly bruised and swollen. Walking isnt even comfortable. So...day off i guess.
I am up after sleeping 12 hours last night. Yes, that does mean I fell asleep before 7, lol. I still feel groggy, but it was much needed! have a client meeting this morning and will do a short run later. I’d like to get on the bike too.
I'm up, but I'm not doing anything this morning. I was going to go to yoga, but there's a sub I don't care for today so I'll probably just do some at home this evening.
Heading to the park for a relay race with friends, should be fun! My excitement is tempered by the fact that on yesterday’s run, it felt like my lung were filled with cottage cheese. Fuck this chest cold.
Between a sick kid (DS1) and a hungry baby, I got maybe 5 hours of sleep. So we'll see, I may do my long run tomorrow (was planning on doing like 5 miles). We just can't catch a break, DS1 will likely be home from school tomorrow, and tomorrow is one of the extremely few days that school is open and we have the day off of work.
It's the weekend, so of course it's raining! I slept in a bit and am about to have homemade scones for breakfast. I have a long trainer ride w/intervals. The rest of the day will be grocery shopping, laundry, etc. plus some couch time. This is a 3 day weekend for me.

I did a strength workout this morning and now I'm getting some work done. It's snowing pretty hard out now but I'm hoping the roads are okay to run later. my uncle said we could come over later to sauna so that will be motivation to get through it.
Getting ready for swim class for DS and I'll go to the gym when we get back. Not a whole lot planned today, we may go to the Air and Space museum this afternoon.
I am in NH on vacation at my family's lake house. I may take the dog for a walk later; if he wants to go! Later I have a Daytona 500 party to go to. I plan to do some stretching later.
I was up and out for a trail and road run with a friend at my favorite park. Just made an amazing breakfast sandwich yum. Getting ready to head out for some errands and hopefully a nap later. Prepping for a crazy work week.

I slept horribly last night and woke up with a headache. I’m pretty sore from my workout yesterday so it’s a rest day. We have a few errands to run then going downtown for a walk and meeting coworkers for dinner.
Obviously everyone runs at a different pace, but how long does a 6 mile hilly trail run take you? I'm new to trail running so I'm wondering if my almost 2 hours for 6 hilly miles earlier this week was as absurdly slow as it felt.

I’m about 2 minutes per mile slower on an average trail vs a road, and more like 2.5-3 minutes slower per mile for a very hilly trail where I have to walk up the hills. Every trail is different, and even the same trail is different depending on conditions (mud, snow, etc), so I don’t have a goal pace on trails.

Trails are awesome! Enjoy!!
It’s just all over the place for me. It depends on the trail, the mid or snow, the people I’m with etc, and of course how I feel. As a rule we generally run the downhills and flats and walk the hills. Yesterday took us one hour and forty minutes. With 730 feet of elevation gain over 6 miles. I never run for a certain time on trails, like never for a certain pace. So different than road!
Also when I get deep into training I find most people aim for amount of hours to run, instead of how many miles we are aiming for.

Yep, makes sense. The trail I've been doing had 2000 ft of elevation gain, it's got a lot of big stair steps, and there's no way I can run up those. Training for time instead of miles definitely makes sense as well. I'm hooked on trail running now, though I need to find more trails to run locally. But I don't get bored on trail runs, whereas road runs can be quite uninteresting.
