I'm working. As I left the house DS told me he'd try not to forget me, lol. Thanks kid.
DH is taking the kids to the science museum, which is a total miracle.
We have U-verse and our internet and cable is out. DH tried to replace both the modum and the router and nothing is working so he has someone scheduled to come wednesday to look at it. The idea of no internet or netflix or tv for that long....ugh. FWP I know! But I had to make a real grocery list instead of ordering online, the kids watched videos or *gasp* played with each other. My sister didn't come home until reeeally late. She's really the one I feel sorry for b/c she normally is able to work from home, but with no internet, that's going to be a problem.
Our schools are in today, however, my schools that I teach are out, so I have a needed office day.
DH has been getting up in the middle of the night all weekend trying to catch the dog that has kept us up all week. He finally caught our neighbors dog in the act at 4 AM. Walking back and forth constantly barking on our property line which is the side of the house with our bedrooms . So I send a pissed txt at 5 AM. Big long explanation from the neighbor, so sorry, we will try to take care of it, my stepson comes in late at sets the dog off but is moving soon, blah. This is the second conversation we have had. We have been dealing with their poor dog management for 20 years, and this dog has to be 1023 in dog years. I have screenshotted all communication and may file with our county attorney if it is not handled. Never doubt my ability to take things to an entirely other level.
On a good note. We had a great trip. DD found 2 beautiful dresses for graduation and Confirmation. We bought her first 2 pair of heels. She looks like a newborn calf walking around the house in them. DS and DH had a great time at their hunting convention and DS found some nice sweats and shirts for school. I had a great time relaxing and having a couple of drinks at dinner. Yesterday, we made some chili and had a fire.
Ventish. DH had to replace our kitchen light that suddenly went out. He brought home a new LED light. We turn it on and it is like looking into the face of the sun. Plus, WOW my kitchen is dirty apparently . I spend half my time wiping down cabinets which I suppose needed it but I couldn't see the dirt before.

I'm working today (DH too), but the kids are off. I dropped them off at our friend's house, who was their in-home DCP and still has them in the summer.
Celebration - I noticed that our federal tax refund is already pending in our bank account (DH submitted our return on 2/10), so that is pretty exciting. I convinced DH that we should go to a Broadway show while we're in NYC for spring break, and we're going to use some of our refund money to cover the cost of the tickets.
Otherwise it was a pretty low-key weekend, with mostly the usual things.
mustardseed2007 , our internet was out for 2 days (10am on 2/7 - 10 pm on 2/8) due to an ice storm and resulting power outage and it was definitely hard for the kids (and me!) to find other activities for 2 days (and we couldn't really go anywhere due to ice and power being out at many places). I was planning to WFH on 2/8 and ended up having to take PTO because school was closed so I was home with the kids and I couldn't work due to the internet outage (although thankfully we had power at our house). Definitely at FWP, but it is interesting how much we rely on the internet!
We put DS down for a nap at 3ish yesterday and he woke up at 6:30 this morning. It was terrifying (my fear that he’d wake up ready to face the day at 12) but apparently he was really tired. I’m basically waiting to find out what his new super power is. Last time this happened, he woke up speaking full sentences.
I'm working and the kids have school. They get next week off, so we never get this holiday. Thankfully DD1 started to feel a lot better around noon yesterday. Fever broke, was able to eat the rest of the day and was totally fine when she woke up this morning, so I sent her to school.

I'm off, only because this is my regular four day weekend. DS spent last night at STBXH's house and I'll get him back this morning for the week. This is my second morning waking up without XH, and my mental state has improved greatly.
Vent: my house looks like a tornado hit the inside. He still has a ton of stuff here that he hasn't moved yet and has left a lot of stuff in piles. I spent last night cleaning after the people helping him move walked through with wet and muddy shoes.
I have today off for my birthday. It will be my last day off until tax season is over. I'm still in bed at 9:20 with the dog snuggled next to me. DD is reading in her room. The house is so quiet. Waiting for the furnace repair guy to come between 10 to 2. Will hit Dutch Bros for free bday drinks today and DD sees the chiropractor at 2:30. Going to a late lunch early dinner before gymnastics.
Weekend was good. DD was super good at work Saturday and really enjoyed going to the gymnastics meet yesterday. DH had the whole weekend to himself and I have no clue what he did as he did nothing around the house.
I am at work. DH is home. He sent the kids to DC so he could have a day to himself. He has already cleaned the kitchen; finished the laundry and got his work out in. A little glimmer into life in one of us stayed home. Except the kids would be home with him.
I was off Friday and am off today, but we had a big crisis at work, so on average this weekend my last email exchanges are happening at 11- midnight and first ones in the morning are around 4-5. Yippee, me.
Saturday DH had a baseball coaching clinic and meeting all day, so I took the kids to SeaQuest and the indoor play area at the mall. It was so fun. I got some great pictures of the kids.
The kids decided last night they wanted a night with Grandma for a sleepover, so DH and I went to dinner and watched tv alone. We were both asleep by 10:30 because that’s how we roll. (Then I was up at 11 for more emails as my phone was blowing up.)
I should have a pretty chilled out week at work, as our execs have an offsite meeting for most of it. I was supposed to be out of town one day, but after this insane weekend, I’m a hard pass.
Home with the kids today. It snowing - enough for the kids to go out and play, but not enough to keep us from driving anywhere - perfect! Took the kids to an inflatable place to meet DD1's friends, then she went home with her friend to sled and hang out. She's home now, and I'm waiting for a phone interview to start. So far for this job I've had a screen with the CEO's EA, then a call with the CEO, then with 2 other people that report to the CEO, now I"m back to the CEO.
I find myself waffling between excitement about the job and sheer panic.
Kids are off school and work is closed. DH still has to work. He went into the city but is back now before he flies out tonight. He is trying to make his travel schedule work so he can see his therapist on Mondays for his depression. It’s a lot better, but he still has it a little.
We had a play date and went sledding. It was fun but we are all tired out.
Dd came home from school with a headache and stomach ache. She never complains , so she must feel bad. On the bright side, we wont be going to open gym tonight. I need the night off because tomorrow I have to present at a high school parent teacher conference, Wednesday volleyball, Thursday Ds club is taking over the ice skating rink, Friday yet another vball fundraiser. Shame someone has to feel sick to get a break from the constant running.
Argh! I’m sorry! If it’s any consolation, my DD was feeling better relatively quickly, without Tamiflu. She started feeling yucky Friday night, diagnosed Saturday, and she was on the upswing on Monday.
I was off today - Worked out at 445, DS got a great haircut, DD did biofeedback and went out to lunch with DS and I for the first time since December (possibly in violation of homebound rules but she has to live a little outside our home), I went to Airrosti, ran errands, cleaned out our mud room (two contractor bags of trash), did my mom’s meds, made dinner, supervised showers and got the younger two to a total of three play dates today.
I just tripped over a baby gate for the dogs (probably because I am exhausted), somehow cutting both of my knees open on it, falling onto one elbow and one knee. My knee is baseball sized and purple and I was laying on the floor whimpering right after I fell and DH came in to yell at me for spilling the cup of water I was carrying to DD, who feels like she is going to throw up. I’m now catching up on social media with three ice packs.
Interview #5 went well, and I’m fully confident that I could handle the demands of this job. I’m excited about it. I really hope I get it.
I’m supposed to have one more round, meeting the CEO in person when he comes to town next week. I also planted a seed that if he decided to go in another direction, I could work with him and his team on one specific project that is in desperate need of some help. It’s totally my thing, and I could do it very well. He was very open to it.
I worked from home in the morning even though it is a company holiday.
Ran some errands with the kids in the afternoon.
Leisurely cooked dinner and put the kids in bed by 8. Hopefully we can all get a good start to the week. Kids don’t have school tomorrow either but I am sending them to vacation care. They are not happy with me.
These days are a dismond in the rough....we all had off work/school but daycare was open for my 3 year old!
Us big people went skiing and there were so many Moguls! They are what I’ve wanted to work on so that worked out well. If my big kids and I go one more time it will be free because of our discount card, so that’s definitely happening at some point!
When we dropped the 3 year old off he finally realized it was weird that my husband was there and the big kids weren’t all being dropped off. He was like, “Hey. Where you guys goin?” Uh, gotta go bye-byes! See you later! He loves skiing to but that’s a LOTTA work!
I had a really mellow day yesterday. Other than my compressor in my outdoor heat pump unit died which was why my electric bill was $$$. Bad news is my heat pump unit is old enough 2006 that a new compressor more than likely won't work with my old school unit so I get to shop for a brand new heat pump and I have a attic unit, so its going to be probably $$$. Cost probably between 6k-15k and my normal repair guy can't due my install because he is old (60) and can't get into the attic/crawl spaces anymore.
