Anyone (teachers?) have any suggestions for good computer games for kids? Not tablet or phone games, but actual games that my Kindergartner could play on an old laptop?
This weekend I cleaned out my "office" area and I wiped my old laptop and re-installed a fresh version of Windows. C has been asking if he could be allowed to play games on my computer. I think maybe he gets to play on computers occasionally in school, but I'm not sure which games and he couldn't tell me the names. I'm willing to allow him to do this, assuming that some options would be more educational than him playing Mario Kart on the Wii.

Ask your school if they have access to ST Math, which is a learning "video game" in disguise. My son loved this in kinder. You can only get access through school if they give you a password, I believe. www.stmath.com/faq
My husband has one called Tux Paint that's a good drawing program for very young kids, but I think it's a linux program. A lot of the education apps have a web-based component as well. Epic books is one that I'm thinking of. Starfall is another one.
