A few weeks ago, DD had a small, circular rash on her lower back. It went away within a couple days, and I didn't think anything of it. She had something similar several months ago, in a similar location along her spine, but again it went away quickly. This morning, she now has two circular rashes, in a row straight up from where the most recent rash had been. The larger one is roughly the size of a dime, maybe a bit smaller. They weren't there last night, and the texture and appearance is kind of scab-like. DD says they aren't itchy or painful. From pictures I've seen online, it doesn't look like ringworm, but that's the only circular rash I can find when I google.
Has anyone ever seen something like this? Would you bother going to the pedi? I could call the dr, but their standard response to a call is pretty much always "well, you could bring her in if you want; we can't tell you if she needs to be looked at without seeing her in person." Not very helpful when trying to figure out if it's worth a trip to the dr.
I agree it looks like eczema, but the consistent location makes me wonder if something external is causing it. Maybe check her PJs or clothes she's worn recently for a tag or rough seam that could be rubbing there? I have found some awful tags in unexpected locations inside kids' clothes.

It doesn't look particularly rash like to me, more like a scrape. When M gets marks like that he's scraped his back on something, usually crawling under playground equipment or a desk.
