Not Trump but related: more news out of NC in the Mark Harris corruption:
"John Harris says he told his dad in April 2017 that he believed Dowless was collecting ballots, which was a felony and he followed up by sending his father the statute making it a felony in an email #ncga #ncpol #NC09"
And also
"NC elex officials just produced an email from Mark Harris to his son in 2016 joking about the fact that McCrae Dowless had filed a protest alleging Democratic fraud that year. "Guess he didn't like the Dems cutting into his business!" he wrote. #nc09 /1"
In other words, confirmation that Harris himself knew about the fraud.
A U.S. Coast Guard lieutenant and self-identified white nationalist has been arrested after federal investigators uncovered a cache of weapons and ammunition in his Maryland home that authorities say he stockpiled to launch a massive domestic terror attack targeting politicians and journalists.
Am I the only one that thinks no matter what is in the report, nothing is going to happen to Trump or his kids?
I'm a cynic.
god help us if this really happens. If they all get off, if there are truly no consequences, i feel like that will only embolden trump. If he’s THAT untouchable, then he’ll really try to do whatever he wants.

Doesn't SDNY investigate federal crimes? I thought they were DOJ just based in NY?
(I don't understand the discussion about state crimes in this thread. I do share the hope that Javanka, and all of them really, get in unpardonable trouble.)

Yes. I’m not sure if PPs are confusing the two or just switching thoughts. I know the NY AG (whose office would prosecute state crimes) has intimated that they are standing down while the Mueller investigation is active.
Also on Maddow last night, she said she is working on a special report episode that will show that SDNY is planning on going against the DOJ guideline of not inditing a sitting president. She said they are working on it and it should be out this week.
I don't see how this happens. Barr is AG now, he is not recused, and he can have the final say on anything any US Attorney's office does.
NY AG or local prosecutors are beyond Barr's reach. The DOJ policy about not indicting presidents would not apply to them (since it is an internal DOJ policy not (clear) federal law).
Jessica Denson worked for the campaign. She sued them in NY state court for discrimination and harassment.
In response, the Trump campaign then (1) asked the NY state court to send her case to arbitration; and (2) filed a second lawsuit -- in arbitration and not in court -- for filing the discrimination lawsuit, asserting it was a violation of the NDA.
Denson then filed a second lawsuit in NY federal court to have the NDA deemed invalid.
The New York state court ruled that her discrimination claims were outside the scope of the NDA and they could proceed in court.
The Trump campaign pushed forward with its arbitration suit, accusing her of violating the NDA. Because the court said that the matter wasn't arbitrable, Denson didn't participate, so the arbitrator ruled in favor of the Trump campaign and ordered her to pay $50k. (Please note, the arbitrator would have been paid by the Trump campaign so duh, they will rule in its favor, and this is allowed, because our Supreme Court has approved these kinds of arbitrations as a suitable justice system for people like Denson.)
Meanwhile the federal court said that Denson's lawsuit to have the NDA deemed invalid has to be considered by an arbitrator.
This lawsuit was filed in arbitration. It seeks to invalidate the NDA on behalf of all campaign workers who entered into it.
So classwide arbitration is pretty hard, and the arbitrators will likely want to keep business going with Team Trump and not piss them off. So I'm not optimistic that this will go anywhere. But at least somebody is trying to do something. And in the meantime, you all get to see a real life example of how fucking terrible forced arbitration like this is for the country.
