Has anyone done gray? I kind of like it, but I also wonder if it's too trendy and weather it will stain easier than a red/brown color. I'm thinking gray will be cooler in the summer too.
We have a gray/taupe Trex deck. With Trex-topped railing and the LED lights. Stair treads are Trex also. It was really expensive (I think 24K) as part of a whole backyard redesign (patio, planter boxes, fire pit/bench). We originally weren't going to replace the deck, but it made sense for the project as a whole.
It's great. I haven't noticed staining (it's been completed now for about 18 months). One thing I love about it is that we did the undercarriage drainage--there are pieces of plastic heavy-duty sheeting between the boards (underneath) that are sloped--they carry rainwater to the edge of the deck, so that you can be under the deck and stay dry. We cook out there, so it's possible even in the rain.
