So...has anyone heard what CP plans to do with the brands? . I am feeling bummed. My oldest is 10 and had a growth spurt. He needs pajamas. I loved the gymmies even if they were a little babyish for him. I don’t love any other brands half as much and prices for HA or similar are just way way more than I am going to spend on sleepwear. I also always got them holiday jammies for all holidays and I can’t find any Easter ones that I like for less than Chasing Fireflies type prices. Wahhhh.
I know, I’m so sad too. My DD1s wardrobe is almost entirely Gymboree. She needs new clothes and I don’t know where to shop. 😢
I think it is just you and I that are sad. I love a collection. I wish I knew if they were going to be resurrected in some way, but i heard from a local store it won’t. Not sure how accurate that is.
Honestly my 2 olders had largely outgrown it with the exception of pjs and underwear and some holiday clothes. I have a weird thing about kids in pjs. I actually don’t love HA at all, but I do think their pjs are cute but notations $45. I barely spend that much on actual outfits for myself lol!
I am totally bummed about them closing. And I'm not a fan of CP at all, so I don't shop there. Gymboree leggings are the ones that fit her the best since she's tall and skinny.
We wear HA jammies, but I'm close to an outlet so I always get them with sales. The only HA PJs she has that were retail were the pink R2D2 ones my mom tracked down for us.
readyin07, are you near a gymbo outlet? The outlet by me still has a bunch of stock, where the retail was picked over.
I'm bummed too. Most of DS's wardrobe was Gymbo. I'm giving Lands End more of a try than I had before. I've bought his winter coats from there in the past (love the squall parka) and the occasional tee shirt. I just ordered some PJs and summer clothes. He hasn't worn them but the quality seems good. Not as cheap as Gymbo clearance, but not too bad with the coupons. They always have 40-50% off regular price coupon codes floating around, and if you get the catalog mailed, it usually comes with a 40% off entire order including sale.
I went to Gymboree for the first time since they were having a closeout sale. Everything was 40% off, and it still seemed expensive to me.

As a regular shopper there in the past, the prices there have been ridiculous since they announced closing. Things used to go on sale so fast and then some percentage marked down from that regularly. I usually didn't pay much more than Target prices for things. Which of course is probably why they are going out of business since they played the "on sale" game poorly.

I've found that their closeout prices are a lot more expensive than their usual sale prices when they were still in business. I went to a local store last week with everything on sale and it was still priced higher than what I usually paid for their clothes. When they were still operating as usual you could get really good deals when combining coupons and sales.
I really liked both Gymboree and Crazy 8. I'm sad they're closing.
This post prompted me to stop by the store at the mall. They are up to 60% off everything which isn’t bad. I got some PJs for $10 which is a goof price. I think they used to come on sale for $12. The regular clothes were still on the high end though.

I loved Gymboree and absolutely abhor CP. I’m sad, too! I can’t afford HA and always found good deals at Gymbo. Most of my kids stuff now comes from Target or ON.
I know shipping is getting more and more expensive, but I'm happy to try and find PJs for people at my local HA outlet. I'm not sure it's worth it for just one pair, but I can probably fit 3-4 in a flat rate padded envelope.
I'm just happy that Target has stepped up their game in the wake of gymbo going down. A huge percentage of our everyday clothes come from Target now.
yes I have really been happy with Target clothes. The tshirt designs are cute and they have more empowering messages. They brought back jegging bermuda shorts for big girls this year! (but took away the toddler ones, harrumph) and we've been happy with the quality overall. My daughter has a small wardrobe and her Target clothes all hold up for the school year
