2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm going on my kid's field trip to the zoo and I'm hoping to not die. The weather is nice and shouldn't be too hot. Fingers crossed I'm able to keep up lol
3. Questions for the group? N/A
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc
We're probably getting the FP soothing motions bassinet unless I get some other recs in here. I'm concerned about where to put the baby during the day though. I need to read some more but the swings, bouncers etc all seem like they'd have the same risk as a RnP..
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have my fetal EKG today (standard for IVF pregnancies at my practice). We booked a babymoon for early June! So excited to sit by the pool with a frozen (virgin) drink.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. At night we will use the PNP just like we did with DS. It does have a "napper" portion that we used with DS for like 6 weeks. Not sure if we'll do that again.
I have some confusion and weird feelings about the RNP recall. I just posted about it on MMM, but basically I'm not sure other alternatives are any better. BLAH.
We did also have a swing with DS that he liked. It was borrowed, but I may buy a used one for DS2. Still not 100% sure I'll send back my RNP before DS2 is born. Might keep it in the basement until he's 3 months old.
1. How far along are you this week? 32+5. Alarmingly, this means 6+3 to go
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Continuing to make progress on the nursery. Got some decorations hung, just looking for a couple more things. I really need to order my chair! Washed the car seat. Got C started in the full size tub, etc.
3. Questions for the group? Dont think so.
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. The bassinet of the pack and play for night. I dont know what to do during the day. C slept on me, which was lovely but not feasible a second time around. I'm assuming a combo of me, boppy lounger, front pack and bouncer seat, with money in the wings for a swing.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm actually starting to feel more energized somehow (2 consecutive weekends without needing to nap!) and the nesting bug is kicking in. I order a rug for DD's room and started going through DS' clothes to see what can be reused.
3. Questions for the group? nope
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. Ha, I was gonna post this exact same question. With DS I envisioned him sleeping in the PNP next to my bed but he was all "lol, no", so we co-slept for several months and then he spent the next few months sleeping in the RNP. I love that thing and am really conflicted about the issues surrounding the recall.
I may get one of those FP bassinets posted above, we'll see. I'm going to a HUGE local 2nd hand baby sale in 2 weeks and as a volunteer I get first dibs so I'm going to see what they have second hand before giving Amazon any more of my money.
melmaria, at my 39 week appointment with DS (I think I was like 39+3) I was not dilated at all and minimally effaced. I felt pretty defeated and settled myself in for going to 41+ weeks. I ended up going into labor at 39+5 and had DS at 39+6. It can all happen very quickly, so don't get too discouraged!
2. Vent: I'm feeling so, so uncomfortable. Walking is not so bad, but standing for any length of time is rough. I'm also getting kind of dizzy/light headed and hot in the morning after I shower; I'm stupidly struggling with getting ready for work on time and helping get DD ready on time. This is going to be a really long 7 or so weeks. At least I am done (as of this weekend) with travel; the next time I spend a night away from home should be the hospital. I have a lot of getting ready to do. I also don't have much luck sleeping without my nice new firm king size mattress, all my assorted pillows, etc. This weekend I was away and had to sleep in a twin, and I felt like I had to feel around for both edges of the mattress every time I rolled over so I didn't fall out. Lol.
3. My OB observed that there was glucose in my urine sample last week at 32w. I had GD in my previous pregnancy, but aced my 1 hr. test at 10w and again at 26w this time. Should I be concerned?
4. I'm basically planning to (try to) do what we did with DD: overnight sleep in the crib in his own room, and naps in the crib and/or PNP. We'll see how it goes. I let DD nap in the swing too during the day out of desperation, and I may do that again with DS. We have a RNP that came 2nd hand for DD, and I really only used it as a place to set her down that wasn't the floor, so she wouldn't get stepped on accidentally by a dog. Sometimes we'd bring it in the kitchen while cooking, etc. I'm not entirely opposed to doing that again. She didn't really sleep in it.
Whether I use the RNP or not, since I didn't buy it, I wasn't planning to try to get anything for it. But how do you properly dispose of a recalled baby item like that? Just trash it? This is our last baby, so it was going to be on its way out within 6 months no matter what.

Meh, I would still take advantage of the recall. If you feel weird about using the voucher just donate it.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I am so sore and exhausted. I have been taking 2 naps a day and still being about to go to sleep before 10. I booked a massage for Wednesday for a time that would allow me to still have an afternoon nap. I have an appt with my doctor tomorrow to see how she was measuring at our ultrasound. I am glad because I have some questions about how low her head was.
3. Questions for the group? N/A
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall. Probably the bassinet that came with her stroller. I still need to get a stand for it though so I don’t have to bend over to the floor.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? No
3. Questions for the group? No
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc.
We will try for the bassinet, but if this child is as bad of a sleeper as my son was in the beginning itll probably be cosleeping in our bed. But that is definitely not my first choice.
We never had a RNP thankfully, so it's not something that changes our sleeping approach with this baby.

This. I don't see why you wouldn't just take advantage of the recall. Use the voucher for something new or use it for something and donate it to a women's shelter.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week?
Nah. Although I think I figured out why I was so sick the last few weeks- I had a pilonidal cyst and apparently they can make you sick. Its gone now, and I feel MUCH better. I mean, still tired and pregnant but less like I want to crawl into my bed every 10 minutes.
3. Questions for the group?
I saw... somewhere? that protein powder is on the 'no' list while pregnant... I plan to ask my dr about it but has anyone else heard that? Are you avoiding it during your pregnancy?
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. I think I am going to try an arms reach-style bassinet (is that considered a bassinet?) in my room this time. DS did NOT sleep well in the PNP with bassinet when we brought him home and just wanted to be in his crib so we'll see if this is better. I'll be watching answers to this one too! haha
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Had my first (Well second really but the first was just the intake appointment back at like 8 weeks) midwife appointment today. Got to listen to the heartbeat for the first time.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. In the crib sidecar’d to our bed. That’s what DS did and we don’t really have room for anything else. Possibly co-sleeping in our bed (DS did for a few weeks when he was around 2-3 months but DH was not comfortable about not squishing him so he then slept on the couch). DS did end up (and still do) cosleeping with us both at a later stage. DS napped in the crib or on the stroller. We did have a Baby Björn bouncy chair but it was used mostly to contain him for short times during the day, like he would happily sit in it watching me take a shower, not for sleep.
1. How far along are you this week? 25 + 2. Viability!!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? So my placenta moved and it’s no longer considered low. Great news! I have the glucose test on Wednesday, so fingers crossed I pass
3. Questions for the group? Not really
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. Both my babies slept in the Uppababy bassinet until they outgrew it (around 3-4 months, I have big babies). Then I transferred them to their crib. I like the velcro halo swaddles for the first months. They did nap on the Mamaroo, and I plan in doing the same with this baby.
We did have a Baby Björn bouncy chair but it was used mostly to contain him for short times during the day, like he would happily sit in it watching me take a shower, not for sleep.
After months of scouring FB groups/marketplace, I FINALLY secured one of these 2nd hand for $50. I've heard so many good things about it, but $200 for a new one wasn't in the budget. I'm hoping its as magical as I've heard!

I’m not sure it was magical but it was nice. And I guess DS did sleep in it a little bit when I think about it - DH would bring him in to the living room and put him in the bouncer while he was watching TV so I could get an extra hour if sleep. I did not pay for it though - my mom bought it for us 😉
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I cleaned out the basement this weekend, sorted through hand me down clothes and put together some baby stuff. Starting to feel the urge to get things ready.
3. Questions for the group? Anyone else's nails break like crazy?
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. We have a cradle for nights next to the bed, basically a mini crib that rocks. I am not opposed to co-sleeping if it comes to that. For daytime we will use that or the chair we were given. Don't know what it is called. We don't have a swing right now but I am not opposed to picking one up if I think it will be useful.
I saw... somewhere? that protein powder is on the 'no' list while pregnant... I plan to ask my dr about it but has anyone else heard that? Are you avoiding it during your pregnancy?Â
My understanding is that a real food protein source would be better, but there is nothing wrong with protein powder per se. A lot of them tend to be high in toxic metals though, so do your research.
I use it sparingly in smoothies, but I think I'm suddenly have issues with lactose so those are out.

1. How far along are you this week? 21 weeks
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? My H felt baby kick for the first time last night. He was soooo active and kicking so hard. I felt it from the outside so I made him put his hand to feel except baby would stop. Finally I said leave your hand there and see and it happened! It was so cool. I am still so very sick - on day 5 - and so very over it.

4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc.
We are using a bassinet thing called a SnuzPod. It’s a bedside crib that attaches to the bed and is supposed to be great. You can tilt it for reflux babies and detach the bassinet to move it around the house. www.snuz.co.uk/snuzpod-bedside-crib/
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I've been having sciatic pain and it sucks. It was on my right side, but I think she repositioned herself and now it's the left. It's been difficult lifting DS and bending down to pick him up and play with him. It's harder for me to move around at this point now than it was with DS.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. We had the FP soothing motions bassinet for DS, so we'll use that again with DD. We used the RNP during the day and DS did nap in it, so I'm on the hunt for something else. We do have the bassinet portion of our stroller with the stand, but I'd like something that rocks if possible.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? My crotch hurts. That's all I got. I miss my long walks on the water or with my dog. BUT we do have a mini-getaway/baby moon this weekend that I absolutely cannot wait for. So much good food and sun and spa is in my very near future.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. We will use this, just put it together this weekend and it's lovely:
And if sh*t hits the fan and the kid truly won't sleep flat, we'll hire a night nurse a few nights a week and let people judge us all they want. If I had to wait until I was almost 40 to finally conceive this child, I'm going to ride our resulting financial stability out as much as I damn well please. This baby will be loved like crazy and if some of those night time snuggles/OMG GTFTS moments happen to occasionally be also from a loving 3rd party so that we can get some sleep, so be it. (This is very b*tchy-sounding...see previous comment about my crotch hurting).

Oh that's a good point, I was thinking of using it a little in smoothies as well, I'll make sure to check ingredients!

1. How far along are you this week? 10w5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? My anxiety about a missed miscarriage is overwhelming me right now; I laid in bed until 3:30am last night googling everything I could find on it. I feel amazing, have had very few symptoms, and have convinced myself it's because there is no baby anymore. It took 10 years, losing 90 lbs, surgery, and IVF to get here so maybe I'm just in disbelief that what I've always dreamed of and worked so hard for might actually happen. I AM incredibly weepy so now I'm just bawling at my desk /augh
We do the NT & NIPT a week from Wednesday and it seems forever away.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What will you have your baby sleep in for the first few months? This is on my mind heavily with the RNP recall, etc. I hope to BF so planned to do a bedside crib type thing so I can be within arms reach. We'll see. I mentioned in the RNP thread that safe sleep was drilled into me when I directed a child development center but I know I need to slow my roll and realize flexibility and common sense may have to come into play.
For daytime, we have 3 senior dogs so I'm not comfortable with baby on the floor unless we are sitting beside them. So, we'll try a couple containment items and see what works best. I'm hoping to avoid a swing as they take up so much space (well, the cheap ones). I have a huge circle of friends that all loan baby items to each other so I might not have to invest in too much just in case baby hates it.
chocolatepie, hugs. I know it's so hard to be in first trimester after IVF and/or previous loss. It does get easier, I promise. Just take things one milestone at a time.
Nah. Although I think I figured out why I was so sick the last few weeks- I had a pilonidal cyst and apparently they can make you sick. Its gone now, and I feel MUCH better. I mean, still tired and pregnant but less like I want to crawl into my bed every 10 minutes.
Augh - I feel your pain! I fought one of those for years, finally had the open surgery to remove it, and it was such a nightmare. I ran fever constantly thanks to it and always felt like crap. I'm so glad yours is gone! I can't imagine dealing with it and being pregnant.
Susie I had glucose in my blood towards the end with DS1 and they had me do a three hour. I passed. No GD with DS2 but he was 10lbs + so now I wonder if I did and just happened to pass the test. Having been diagnosed with GD this time around and with monitoring my blood sugar I am more confused about how diabetes is controlled than ever.
Hugs chocolatepie. IF and PGAL is so hard and the first trimester is terrifying. Fwiw, I never had any symptoms with DS and would have never known I was pregnant if it wasn't for ultrasounds. In retrospect, you'll be so grateful to have had an easy pregnancy. I always said it was the universe's way of making it up to me since it took so much to get there.

slcjess, I hadn't heard that about protein powder. I guess I need to check the ingredients of ours since I've been using it in my breakfast smoothies
chocolatepie - Big hugs! While I haven't gone through all the same things, I have gone through several losses. I still feel like I'm going to wake up and this will have all been a dream and it's not really happening. Like, I truly am happy, but self-preservation has my excitement minimized because I'm scared to get my hopes up.

1. 17+2
2. Vents - I had calmed down with my worrying for a while, but in the last week it's really coming back hard. I try to remind myself, I just saw our little guy a week ago and everything is looking fine, it's just scary. AW - I think we picked out a going home outfit yesterday at buy buy baby! Also, my massage last week was great AND I signed up for their monthly massage membership
3. I feel like I had something, but it's left me at the moment. I'll be back once I remember!
4. I'm thinking we'll do a PNP or something in our room? But, I'm not opposed to letting him sleep in his bed with a monitor. DH feels more strongly about him being in our room than I do. With the RNP, I guess I'm glad this is my first, so I won't really know what I'm missing? I haven't really been following the whole recall.
