I've tried to google and find out approximate cost, but the range is huge. The current asphalt driveway is cracked in many spots and has a big hole/sunken area. I assume we're looking at a full replacement - not a repair.
Our driveway fits 4 parked cars (with little room to spare)
Obviously I need to get quotes but I have no idea if we're talking $5k or $10k or what. We are in a HCOL in the Northeast.

My ILs spent $5K getting theirs repaved in NJ. Theirs was pretty cracked and worn and included curbs. They can squeeze 4 cars length-wise.
I'm also in the northeast, and our driveway fits about 4 cars. We got one quote last year and never got others or pulled the trigger on the one we got. It was around $4500, and included ripping out the existing asphalt and replacing the whole thing.
We did this last year and I think we paid $4,000. They ripped it all out and out in a new one. It was not the cheapest quote (there were people willing to do it for less) but my H liked the guy (he ended up sucking but that's another story). Our driveway fits three cars across and then prob three more lined up behind those cars.

This is good to know. This is on our list too, but we probably won't get to it for a few years. I would have guessed much more expensive than these examples. Glad to be wrong! Although we also want to widen it a bit and add an extra spot off to the side. I am sure that will be $$$$$.

Thanks all! I'll come back and update once we get some quotes. The hard part is the driveway is adjacent to a small retaining wall, and it leads to our side stairs -- both of which we ALSO need to replace. It likely makes sense to do it all at the same time, but of course that will be $$$$

This is exactly our situation as well. I'm thinking $20k. Hopefully less. Hopefully not more because I would die.

Another person checking in that needs to do this. I'd like to do concrete w/rebar....I thought it would be $10K+...hoping y'all are more in the ballpark.
Another driveway in need of redo here too. So glad to hear this might be much more reasonable than I expected. We need to revisit all of our drainage at the same time. I suspect our underground piping from the gutters has broken down. Yay homeownership

DH and I were just discussing this the other day, too. We are in the NE, but MCOL. Hoping that ours is in this ballpark, or even less. We also have to replace our front window, which would probably be about the same amount, so we have to decide which one is worse at this point.
