NOOOOOOO!!! We have a viewing in 15 minutes and a leak just started through a light in our ceiling. I tried to fix it but it's unstoppable. Have a call in to a plumber and the guy will have to punch through the ceiling to see what the hell is happening. Which will be great for our Saturday viewing too. Why now? WHY?
Damn old pipes (or possibly badly fixed pipes by our stupid builder).
Nooooooo indeed! Yikes! I don’t even know what to say to help. That sucks and I hope the damage is minimal. I’m shaking my fist at your uncooperative house.

Oh no! I hope they can figure it out quickly.
We had a showing where the potential buyers saw a wet spot on the ceiling. It was a terrible storm and basically raining sideways. The first and only time our roof had ever leaked in the 12 years we lived there. Was terrible timing.

Plumber is here. Found out where the problem was - hole in pipe in guest bedroom (turns out it was an old pin that was in the floor board that lightly punctured the pipe). Probably wasn't a big deal for a while and then it split from water pressure, and that's why the leak showed all of a sudden. We've drained the heating system and now he's going to solder the pipe. Said the patch will hold fine and last. Our builder is sending a guy on Monday or Tuesday to fix the plaster around the light. Phew.
Talked to the estate agent and he said the person viewing didn't really register the leak. Which is good. Having it fixed will make me happier. Two viewing in between now and Tuesday but it's a small plaster fix and unless you were looking for reasons not to like the house, you wouldn't notice it too much.
