Busy weekend. I'm tired today, so hopefully I can get to bed early tonight.
It was my Friday off, so I helped in DD's class for an hour, then got groceries, then came home and started the kids' laundry (my mom was sick so she didn't come down), then did a little work, then went to get the kids early from school for a dentist appointment, then took DD to a book signing for a morning news celebrity who is from our city, while DH took DS to baseball practice. DD had a friend spend the night, but she's a good kid and no drama, so I didn't have to do much besides get them a snack and set up sleeping bags.
DD's friend went home first thing in the morning, and then DS was supposed to have a little league game at 10, but it was canceled due to the cold temps. DH and I divided and conquered cleaning with our gift of time. Mid-afternoon we headed over to the baseball complex for the tournament, as his games were at 4 and 6, so that was the rest of our day.
Sunday was all baseball - the games were at 8, noon, and 4, so there wasn't a large break in between. DD does not enjoy spending all day at baseball games, so we called MIL and she was able to stay with DD at home during the last game. DS's team lost in the championship game, but after being seeded 4th going into it, all the parents and coaches were really proud of how well they played.
Today I have to leave work a little early to so DH and I can sign for the HELOC to buy 40 acres of land (for hunting, camping, and maybe even to have a retirement home someday). I'm not super excited to take out a loan after we just paid my car off, but I'm anticipating we'll get more use of our travel trailer by putting it on the land (for the summer, we'll store it for the winter as usual) and it will be nice to have something to pass on to our kids.
1. I started my day with a mammogram. My least favorite day of the entire year. 2. DS is freaking out because he thinks he is going to fail his permit test today. 3. I have about $900 in doctors bills that I am paying today, which sent me on a spiral about finances. Surely we are close to the deductible on DS with all of his medical 4. To further torture myself, I decided to try on all of my shorts for summer. It was not pretty. Considering I work out every day, and really try to watch what I eat, I give up.
DS had a great birthday this weekend and DH is hopefully taking him driving this afternoon.
I was out on Thursday/Friday with the girls on a mini vacation into the city to finish up their spring break. We had so much fun! The weekend was equally good, although by the end of the day yesterday we were at full "too much togetherness" levels and the bickering was coming out full force. Thank god they're back at school today.
I'm exhausted from staying up too late after Game of Thrones last night. Looking forward to crashing early tonight.

It was supposed to be a laid back weekend, which didn't turn out so well. DS was defiant and difficult - nothing major, but he kept bugging DD, making her cry, and refused to help around the house, was slow in doing anything, and just generally being a tool. I think maybe too much free time doesn't work for him. We had him try this new on-line math program yesterday afternoon and he loved it. It's days like yesterday that make me really realize that DS is different than other children. After doing the on-line math program for a few hours, he voluntarily did another hour of math worksheets as he "wanted to work on speed" and was happy as a clam afterwards.
We have a super busy week this week, with lots of doctor's appointments, soccer practice, DD's spring concert, etc., so I'm already dreading it.
The weekend was good. Saturday was hectic as all get out with team baseball pictures for both kids plus games for both kids. The pictures were a disorganized mess. I’m not looking forward to seeing how they turned out. They were so far behind that instead of doing the pictures before the 4-5 year old tram’s game, we had to do them after. By that time, three of the kids on the team had been at the fields for more than 4 hours. DS has this look on his face like “just take the effing picture already so I can go home.” I think I had the same look when it was my turn. Plus it was literally the first sunny baseball day we had, so it didn’t occur to me to sunscreen everyone up, including me. So I got pink, as did DD. DS and DH just got tan.
Sunday was the birthday party. And we got all thank you notes done and delivered this morning! I’m so happy about that.
Thankfully it snowed, but only a dusting on Saturday, which meant that soccer was cancelled. It was still cold Sunday morning so we skipped breakfast on the farm. Dd still had her soccer game, and made it painfully obvious that she didn't want to be there. But there are still two more games, so we won't let her quit. The same thing happened with dance, super pumped to do it, then after a few didn't want to anymore. Last week of classes here, so everything is bonkers.
I got a sunburn yesterday at soccer. I’m an idiot. Worked out this morning - I do have to stop a lot to get my heart rate close to my max, but I am still burning 650 calories per workout, so that hasn’t changed. I ran a couple miles during soccer as well, then shagged balls (read: sprinted lots). I’m so much more level when I’m active. The last few weeks have sucked.
I hit my goal weight. Now I just need to replace fat with muscle.
I’ve also been crazy productive at work this morning. Thank goodness because last week was not pretty. Lots of medical insanity this week and next - including my mom’s appointments, DD getting her cast off and biofeedback with the new Dr. for DD - I really like the new doctor a lot. Things are looking up - DD returns full time to school on Wednesday, just in time for two weeks of storms (migraines). Fingers crossed.

2chatter, mommyatty, add me to the sunburn club. My face is sunburned. (The rest of me was covered because the day started out at 35 degrees and only got into the upper 50s.) I didn't even think about sunscreen because I didn't expect the sun to be this intense in late April in MI, but I was outside pretty much all day on Sunday and now I learned my lesson for next time.
I got my first sunburn in February, so I was prepared for the weekend.
I *finally* convinced DH DS to sit on the potty. He hasn't actually used it, but at least he's sitting on it now. I sent him to daycare wearing pull-ups (Sorry DCP! I *know* they're a PITA), so hopefully he at least practices going through the motions.
Weekend was okay but not restful. Saturday was lots of yard work after M went home from the sleepover. Sunny here all weekend but no sunburns as the wind was really strong so we worked in shifts. My ears are sensitive and don't like the wind but it was too warm for winter hats.
Walked with a girlfriend Sunday morning which was nice and we are going to try and do it again soon. DD had a playdate with S that afternoon. S was having a meltdown when we got there so DD was sitting with C who is in 7th grade and was attempting to do her math homework. I think if S hadn't calm down DD would have gotten C to show her how to do it as she was reading the problem and already talking out what they needed to do.

k3am, thanks for the laugh this morning. I needed it.
Had an interesting convo with DH. He’s apparently been drinking quite a bit of whiskey lately - which I both knew (I mean, that he drank whiskey), and didn’t know (volume). It pretty well ties to him being a total ahole. He drank no hard liquor before.
This weekend he drank zero alcohol and it was the best weekend in YEARS. He wasn’t all keyed up and hostile. I didn’t know why, but I mentioned it last night. Things like — I had four kids with me and we were going to meet DH and DS for dinner and popsicles. DH went to a location of the restaurant we have never been to, ever, and he knew where I was. It was weird, but he didn’t freak out. Any other weekend this would have been A Very Big Thing.
Weekend was good! We out to lunch with a friend on Friday. Then I took my older girls to see my little cousin in a Peter Pan ballet on Friday and a friend in a Cinderella musical on Saturday. My whole family was at church on Sunday, and I just love when I have a whole pew full of the people I love. And then DH and I got some small projects done around the house. Oh, and I officially hit 10 lbs lost!
Today is a pretty rainy and gloomy Monday, but I got up and got my workout in. I am really enjoying the BBG workouts (SWEAT app). The HIIT training that I was pretty scared of has totally become my favorite.
rere just skip the shorts! Tight black capris and loose skirts are so much more flattering in my opinion. I don’t own shorts.
mommyatty I’m sure pics and games on the same day was crazy, but I think I would have preferred it to game Saturday, pics Sunday, plus having to wash the uniform Saturday night, which was our weekend!
We had a good weekend. We’re still having woodwork and painting done on our house to fix the termite damage and it’s a side job for the guys so they’re doing it on Saturdays. They were going to be banging on DS2’s room during naptime so I ran out to get a secondhand pack n play so he could nap in my room. I can now say how much his 2-hour Saturday nap is worth to me - $30.
DH and I had our regular date night Saturday and tried a new restaurant in a neighborhood we never go to, so that was fun.
Busy weekend! Softball got rained out on Friday and delayed a little on Saturday. DH was OOT so my mom took DD2 to tennis as to her house while I was at the field forever. Then DD1 went to a friend’s house while DD2 and I worked on a project.
Sunday we were back at the softball field in the morning, then DH came home and took DD2 to tennis while I took DD1 to another softball practice.
This week is nuts. DH leaves tomorrow for another trip, back at midnight on Wednesday. DD1 has individual and group therapy tomorrow, with not really enough time to go home in between. Which means we won’t be home until about 7 tomorrow night. Then DD1 has softball again on Wednesday. I was excited for nothing on Thursday, but apparently one of the kids had an art project selected for a show, and there’s a reception on Thursday. I have no details, including which kid was created this piece. Then Friday I will be volunteering at school all day. I’m already tired.
We also have his MRI on Thursday and he’s developed a cough, so it may end up getting rescheduled. Hopefully we don’t need to do that and they decide his brain is also boring enough (for a messed up brain) that we don’t need to be concerned.

Sending you all the t&p and crossing everything for boring results!!!
My employee with pancreatic cancer passed away last night. He had been in the hospital more than a month, and he was told on Friday it was a matter of days, not weeks. But I’m still sad. He was a nice guy, and his daughter is getting her PhD on May 15. I know he would have liked to see that.
I’ve never had an employee die before. Retired employees, yes, but not an active one.
I had a miserable night. Woke at midnight to pee and ended up passing out on the toilet. This time I fell into the tub. Wacked my head and yanked my shoulder pretty good. Twenty minutes later I have projectile vomiting and continued to vomit until 4 this morning. I'm tired and the only one at work because dad is on vacation the rest of the week. I literally am just staying long enough to get payrolls done for 4 small clients and then I'm going home to sleep.
Just got off the phone with the triage nurse. No I can't go back to sleep but I don't need to rush in. Since I have a prior concussion the nurse assumed I triggered the symptoms to return. If I start to puke again I'm to come straight in.
So the building we thought it was going to be isn't going to be. BUUUUUT someone higherup in the company - not in charge of the process, but an executive - gave us an actual address, so I'm pretty certain that's going to be it. I'm also over here scoping out the amenties - like oh good, it has a gym... and I've never once gone to the gym at work in the last 12 years.
Any of the buildings we've looked at are 100x nicer than what we're currently in. There's a reason they're going to tear it down. I just hope I don't get moved out of an office and into a cube farm. I'm so spoiled by my office. My current office is about the size of our home office/guest room. Such a luxury.
186momx - I think I missed the first concussion. I am so sorry! I hope you go in to be evaluated and then can get some rest. If you haven’t already, put DH on alert that he’s 100% with everything today — you don’t need to do a single thing other than rest.
