We leave for Disney next week. Our first full day, we are headed to Hollywood Studios. It’s EMH, but I think they let in everyone to sign up for Jedi Training Academy? Am i understanding that correctly?
Anyway, we’re staying on-property so we’re going to take advantage of EMH. My 5yo son would like to do Jedi Training Academy and we would also like to hit up Slinky Dog Dash (couldn’t get a FP), which we would have to rider swap because we have a toddler too. How should we plan this? Right to the Jedi signup and then hope the line for Slinky Dog Dash isn’t crazy? I don’t think there’s anyway we could divide and conquer, right?

We went to HS last thurs and this past Sunday. On thurs, we were there 15 minutes before park opening and the slinky dog line was already 60 minutes. They started running the ride before the park was officially opened. We waited and it took about 45 minutes to get on. On Sunday, I walked in to the park 30 mins after opening and headed to Jedi sign up with dd2. The child has to be with you to sign up. There was no line at all. I walked straight up to the table and had my pick of times. It was wonderful. We also find the EMh hours days to be the worst days to go to a park. It’s way more crowded than a regular day. If you go that day,get there at least 30 mins before EMh starts and run for slinky when the park opens. My SIL has luck going through a coffee shop, and was one of the first to ride slinky that day. Then head to Jedi as soon as there park opens for the day. I’m not sure if you can sign up for Jedi during extra magic hours or not.

I’m seeing online that they do open the line for Jedi sign up when extra magic hours starts (or even a little before), so with that you might want to get to the park even earlier. some sites recommend 60 minutes before EMh starts.
I think that Slinky Dog will be crazy no matter what. I would try to divided and conquer. Do you have FPs for anything?
Yeah, I have FPs. I couldn’t get SD so I have Toy Story Mania at 9:05 am. I just don’t know if there’s a way to divide and conquer. I would need my kid in tow for the rider swap and I would also need him to sign him up for Star Wars. Am I missing a way?

Woof. We’re staying club level and we normally eat breakfast in the club. It doesn’t even open until 7am. I may just have to accept that it might not happen.
If you are prepared to get up early and be there BEFORE EMH starts, then you could probably be okay rope dropping Slinky Dog. Otherwise, it's a 90 minute wait ++ and I don't believe it really goes down for much of the day. But if you are prepared for that, bring games and snacks and keep those kiddos entertained in line.
I don't think Jedi training will be full up for a while, so you could go to that 2nd......and hold out until 10:10am for that Toy Story fastpass.
Another thought --- the line for Slinky Dog will be very long and will start edging out past the entrance to Toy Story Land. You could easily take the 1 child and go sign up for Jedi training and then "cut" back into line with your husband and child #2 before it gets into the official "queue" section. You have kids - whose to say you weren't running to the potty?!
