1. How far along are you this week? 37+1...15 days until induction, ahh!!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Its crazy that I'm now at the "it could be any day now..." stage, and I need to knock some final things off the list. Car seat is still not installed, hospital bag isn't packed, and my mother has no idea where DS' daycare is if she needs to pick him up when I go into labor. Ooof.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was great! DH did a great job choosing a brunch location, and I spent the day relaxing, book shopping, and napping. DH gets an A and I feel bad his Father's Day will not be as relaxing since I'll be tending to a newborn.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? DS and DD only have 4 and they're all quite a bit older, which makes me a little sad. My mom is one of 11 and my dad is one of 5 and I always had a zillion local cousins to play with (I have 50+ 1st cousins!). My sister is older and had her 3 kids in her 20s so they're all tweens/teens now, and my SIL's daughter is 11 and lives in NY. I have a cousin who is due in August so I'm hoping our girls can be close growing up.
1. How far along are you this week? 36+3, 2+3 to go!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Got the car seat installed and end table built. No protein in my urine last Friday! And baby flipped head down, though that doesnt change my plans. I swelled up so.bad. on Saturday. I've determined my swelling is directly related to activity level which sucks as a SAHM to a toddler. Officially decided on Dean! Ordered a name thingy for the nursery even.
3. Questions for the group? Favorite ways to induce labor? I'd really like to start the eviction process this weekend befor my OB goes out of town. Relatedly, any way to keep him in?
4. How was your Mother's Day? Blah
5: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Two, a boy who is 4 in July and a girl who just turned one. C and and the girl are exactly 6 months apart. They live a a few states away though:(
3. Questions for the group? Favorite ways to induce labor? I'd really like to start the eviction process this weekend befor my OB goes out of town. Relatedly, any way to keep him in?
With DS, the day I decided I was DONE I went for a short but aggressive (fast) run and then used the manual breast pump for a bit. I went into labor a few hours later, but who knows if that was just a coincidence since I was 39+5.
1. How far along are you this week? 31 weeks.... It's all of a sudden going by very quickly!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm starting to feel pretty uncomfortable. And I'm over the random nausea that I'm still getting.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was nice. We spent the day in Laguna Beach on Saturday with my in-laws to avoid the crowds. Yesterday we just went to an early dinner. I did overdo it cleaning the house yesterday while DS took a 3 hour (!) nap, so I wasn't feeling so great last night.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? DS has a cousin who is 2 months younger and also one who is 5 years older. Both live out of state, though.

1. How far along are you this week? 7w4d today.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Had my dating US Friday and everything was right on schedule with my dates. 134bpm
3. Questions for the group?
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was good/fine. I told H I’d just like him to plan and execute all of the meals, brunch out after church. I went into details with it last year, including needing to make reservations bc everything is bonkers. I didn’t specify food though and we ended up at some Italian chain that had like 3 brunch options (all sweet and I am definitely a savory person- biscuits & gravy!!). I didn’t go into detail this year and Saturday night found out he hadn’t made any brunch plans. Of course everyplace that had a good menu and decent prices had no reservations. Instead of wasting $$ on a brunch that the food was just meh to me, I told him I’d rather just have pancakes at home. I feel like a turd about it, but I’m also mid-first tri and a lot of food is meh or just doesn’t work right now. Pancakes were good though & he and the kids made and cleaned them up. I took a good nap and they made supper too. Each kid had a bag of pictures, etc they had made me. Kind of hate that H doesn’t think it’s his job to acknowledge me on Mother’s Day bc I’m not HIS mom (not like he did anything for his mom either though...). A card or gift or something would have been nice. He is not a gift person and they are definitely my love language. Sorry. Vent. He is so good with the kids and definitely steps up with everything at home. I just feel blah about gifts between us.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? They have two cousins- 9&7. They are 20ish minutes away and we see them every few months I guess. My 5 & 3.5yo like playing with them a lot, but there is a pretty decent age gap.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? 2.5 weeks until our babymoon. Can't wait. Otherwise, just trudging along. I pulled out all the newborn and 0-3m clothes this weekend and put them back in the nursery. We don't have much in these sizes, but I don't plan to buy more. I think we can made do. I know we are swimming in 3-6m clothes (hopefully correct season--lol) so maybe he'll grow quickly.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was good! DH got DS up, took him to grab us breakfast at Panera, then DH took DS to soccer while I stayed at home on the couch with my iced coffee. We lounged most of the day (weather was terrible--cold/rainy). We went to dinner at MIL/FIL. DH got me a cute weekender bag that I had mentioned to a friend I thought was cute and some flowers.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? Currently I have one nephew and one niece on the way (BIL/SIL). We'll have 2 kids, my BIL/SIL will have 2 (possibly 3) and my sister is currently TTC (hoping for 2). So---4-5 tops? A bunch of my cousins will have kids though and a few of those we'll be close enough with to consider them cousins, hopefully.
As for close in age DS and nephew are 6 weeks apart. DS2 and niece will be about 6 weeks apart. Everything crossed my sister gets pregnant like...yesterday. I want her to give me a niece (and I know she wants a baby girl so don't flame me. ).
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? This 2nd time mom belly is no joke. I was pretty small with dd, but I feel like I am easily 6 wks ahead of where I was with her, belly wise. With dd they commented that I had a really strong core & it was likely holding her in a bit, but with this one it’s like she stretched everything out and my body is like, “Have a seat. I know what to do this time around.” LOL Not a fan of this gut.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was really nice! I got a few hours to myself on Saturday to run some errands and get an amazing pedicure. Then on Sunday we had brunch at the beach and let dd play for a bit, splashing in the water & chasing seagulls. I got a nap when she did, then we played in her pool and DH made filet and scallops for dinner.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? There are 4 cousins, but sadly they 1) Don’t live close to us, and 2) They range from 7-13. It’s one of the reasons we’re having a second. If there were cousins close in age that lived in our town we might have been more likely to be OAD.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? My induction has been scheduled - 13 more days! We did a quick maternity photo shoot Saturday, so I am excited to see how those turn out.
3. Questions for the group? What are the best pads to use after birth?
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was good. H bought flowers and we had a nice dinner
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? She will have 3 - age 7, 4 and 1, but they live about 5 hours away, so will only get to see them a couple times a year.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Second trimester is here!! I feel like my belly has suddenly popped out quite a bit in the last few days.
3. Questions for the group? No
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was low key. We were visiting the inlaws and just had lunch at home after church.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? 1 so far. My nephew will be almost 3 when the baby comes, and Z will be 4. So they are pretty close in age.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm super nervous for Friday. I'm having an amnio done to make sure everything is normal with the baby after finding a cystic hygroma during my 12th week. This will be my last baby and I just want him to be healthy.
3. Questions for the group? none
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was very relaxing. I spent the weekend kicked back with chick flicks. I also scored free newborn, 0-3 month and 3 month baby boy clothes along with 2 sleep sacks from my Buy Nothing group on Facebook.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? Yes. It's all boys. My sister has 2 boys and I'm having my 3rd. I'm pretty sure out of 5 kids (all girls with 1 boy) that my brother will be the one to have the girl. They are pretty close in age. I have a 10.5 and a 5.5 year old. My sister has a 5 and 3 yr old.
2. I feel done. With my other two I didn’t feel so wanting to be done even as due dates approached (and passed with DS2). I think part of the reason was with my boys I was nervous about how life was going to change when baby came. With this one I’m so ready to have the baby and can’t wait for her to officially join the family!
4. It was great. Woke up to lots of flowers and some handmade gifts/framed pictures. We went out for breakfast and lunch. Dinner was together with a few other families - kids played and dads got take out.
5. My kids have cousins but all the cousins on DH’s side are older. My oldest is 8, but his cousins are almost done with high school or already in college. On my side we have one who is a year younger than DS2. They are OAD so it’s unlikely they will get any more cousins. Our baby will be the last for both sides of the family.
Favorite ways to induce labor? I'd really like to start the eviction process this weekend befor my OB goes out of town. Relatedly, any way to keep him in?
I'd try to keep the baby in as close to 39 weeks if possible. Inducing too early can lead to a long labor and could end up c-section. With both of mine at 39 weeks I took a midwife cocktail. I forgot the exact parts but it's easily googled but it's a mixture of grape juice and castor oil.
1. 36+5. Supposedly going to be setting my induction date at my Wed. app't, although they bumped my app't from an OB to a NP, which I'm annoyed by (at this stage of pregnancy). From past experience I know the NPs are fine for most things, but for anything related to delivery they generally defer until you can talk to an OB, since they don't deliver. That's... not helpful in the final month, when all you want is a finish line and a healthy outside baby. Anyway, having seen the OB on-call schedule I'm aiming for Friday 5/31 (39+2), so in 2.5 weeks. That's when DD was born so I feel iffy about whether I'll make it! Part of me hopes so... and part of me hopes not.
2. I'm just so ready to be done! Ha. Last week I had a repeat CBC to make sure my platelets were ok (yes, they've only dropped a little more since being a tad low at 26w), I had measles titers checked to ease my mind (confirmed immune). I keep adding people to the pickup list for DD at daycare and working on little things to get ready, compiling phone #s on the emergency list, writing out instructions for whoever will step in with DD when I go into labor, etc. We have a long list of phone numbers, but nobody who's a clear YES THIS PERSON WILL DEFINITELY BE IT -- my MIL 40 mins away, my dad 5 hours away, a long time family friend an hour away, neighbors across the street and next door for immediate notice at home -- but I am so nervous about how it'll actually play out for DD.
3. Has anyone ordered a breast pump from McKesson? Experiences? They're the only provider that is in-network that offers the one I want (Spectra S1) but I am finding them frustratingly unresponsive. Ugh.
4. We did it on Sat, since yesterday rained. DD (3) wanted to do a picnic at a park with "flowers that you can eat" with mommy. So that's what we did.
(my belly is totally asymmetrical, lol.)
This is my 4th Mother's Day as a mom, and also my 4th since losing my mom. Having a kiddo who has specific ideas and wants and understands (a little) what the day is, makes it a lot easier for me because it gives me something to focus on. It's the first time I've ever really felt up for doing anything for MD at all.
5. My kids will have 3 cousins; the youngest is 7 months younger than DD. DD looooves them. This baby will be the youngest of the group because I think we're all done on H's side once he comes. My brother is 5 years younger than me, and he and his wife are still childfree. I imagine there will eventually be some cousins there, but none yet. The kids will also have 3 more "cousins" who live across the country, the kids of my college best friends. DD is the 2nd oldest, and DS will be the 2nd youngest of the 5, so they're right in the mix. We vacation together annually and the kids all know each other, call the adults aunt/uncle, etc. They're the family we got to choose.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Finally feeling like we are prepared for her to arrive. Got carseat, stroller, etc, this weekend. Just need to wash everything and put away. My boss is throwing a baby shower for me on Wed. I never bothered to register so it will be fun to see what people pick out.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was nice actually. DH went snowboarding, so me and DS and my mom went to a park by the creek and had a picnic lunch while DS explored every rock on the shore and some in the creek. And we all slept in which was awesome.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? My brother has one DD who is DS's age and DH's brother has 2 tween girls. So a few cousins, but no other little ones. Youngest niece lives 3 hours away so they do get to see each other a few times a year.

Having one regardless
Unfortunately my OB is gone for week 38 so I'm aiming for before 38+1 or my scheduled 39+1 and nothing in between...which is obviously when he will come, lol.

1. How far along are you this week? 15w5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I had an OB appt this morning and everything looked good! Baby boy had a good hb, but he was moving all over so I only got to hear it for a few seconds.
3. Questions for the group? Nothing this week
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was good! DH got me a mommy subscription box and a sweet card. I spent most of the day with my mom.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? No, DH and I each only have 1 sibling...I have a nephew who is 2, who we see often and hope the boys will be close. My BIL has a 4 year old step daughter, but we don’t see them super often.
hamster my ob said squats and deep clean your house. Didn’t really work for me this time. The first time I had a super busy day of laundry, carrying tons of stuff, several trips to Home Depot and Lowes, Costco and bru and my water broke. I think I forced him out that time. Good luck!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Everything is going well. I got my TDAP last week and will get the Rhogam shot in 2 weeks. It's starting to get real...
3. Questions for the group? Not right now.
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was good! We spent the morning at the beach, the weather was perfect. Then we had lunch with my ILs.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? No cousins from my side of the family yet. DH has 3 older sisters, two of them have kids. My kids have 4 cousins, 3 girls and a boy, but they're older. The youngest one is 9.

My house could certainly use some attention! God knows pushing that damn Costco cart about kills me come third tri, so not surprising that would get something going!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? It's strange how some days I feel absolutely AWFUL and some day I have this huge surge of energy. I start twice a week apts this week, but I'm working from home one of those days so that will help things. Overall, I'm feeling weirdly calm.
He's definitely moved down though (a lot of people are commenting) so while I'm not counting on (or hoping for) going super early, I'm mentally prepared for it. I would just like to go into labor early in week 39 since we're scheduling induction some time later that week (June 4-6 time frame).
3. Questions for the group? None this week
4. How was your Mother's Day? We didn't do much. I'm not ready to celebrate until baby is here safely. We will next year.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? He already has four but they are older (4, 10,11,13) and not close. Whether he will have more will depend on my and DH's little siblings. We shall see.

1. How far along are you this week? 21w4d- eek!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I’m starting to not sleep so well. My hips have been sore and even with lots of pillows and my leg propped up I’m waking up often overnight feeling sore. This is early. I seem to be exhausted and sleep well one night, and then toss and turn the next. Boo.
3. Questions for the group?
4. How was your Mother's Day? A mixed bag I would say. Definitely busier than I would have liked. I wish it was less about the grandparents and more about me. Ha! Also DH is a total loser when it comes to gifts so I have that continuous disappointment to deal with. He forgot it was Mother’s Day.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? Cousins are popping up now so yes, they will. Right now my stepsister has two at 6 and 3, DD is 3, BIL has a 2yo. My sister is due 6 weeks before me and my stepsister again 9 weeks after me. It sounds as though BIL wants another in the next year as well.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? TMI but I had to increase my frequency of Zofran and OMG I forgot how bad the constipation gets. Not pretty. Officially in second tri though!
3. Questions for the group? Does anyone have recommendations for maternity pajama shorts? Everything I find is sets and I’d prefer just some comfortable shorts.
4. How was your Mother's Day? Good, I planned to mostly take it easy since I’ve been so sick instead of trying to run around. Game of Thrones kind of had me emotionally traumatized last night though!
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? They don’t have any cousins yet; I know my BIL and SIL have recently started trying so that’d be fun.

1. 36 weeks, 3 days!!!!
2. I'm just so tired. Other than a break in July and August (and I wouldn't even call those "breaks" since I was dealing with the aftermath of engorged breasts and other post pregnancy issues), I've been pregnant since last January. It feels like a 17 month pregnancy at this point. I'm 3 cm dilated, fully effaced, but still not in active labor, which is good. I got the go ahead for "normal" activity levels now, but between being 9 months pregnant and inactive for 9 weeks and some major round ligament pain, I can't really seem to do much. It's a little frustrating.
The nesting instinct has hit hard, but I've got nothing to nest. No nursery space and most of what we own is in storage. The house we were hoping to bid on last week is now going on the market later at 40K more than previously stated, so that's most likely not an option anymore.
3. Diaper pail recs? I wasn't going to get one, but just realized our trash pickup is only every other week, and we can't leave trash outside until the night before pick up...sooooo...maybe a diaper pail is a good idea.
5. She'll have 30+, almost all on DH's side. I've lost track of the exact number and the ages, but in my defense, we very rarely see anyone on his side of the family.
And speaking of cousins...tell me I'm nuts to consider naming our baby Adelaide when she has a cousin named Adeline. Of course, it would be the one cousin she might see regularly, even if they live on the opposite side of country. I have always wanted to use the first name Adelaide (it's a family name), and am willing to have her go by her middle name. Maybe I'm just ornery this week and just want to name our baby whatever I want. Part of me thinks we've earned that after everything we've gone through to get her. (I might delete this later)

This is so funny. My OB just told me to resume "normal activity" levels, but don't do anything crazy "like go to Costco." Pushing those carts must really work at jump starting labor!

They're so heavy! And then people keep cutting in front of you so you have to bring the thing to a halt. I actually had a meltdown after winco a few weeks ago for similar reasons. I was DONE.
But we only go to both stores for stock up stuff, not normal amount of groceries.

I cannot handle Costco without my H and I am the furthest from the person who needs to (or wants to) run errands with her H. We are not that couple. We normally spend weekends running errands separately, but between the carts, people everywhere and lifting shit like dog food bags...no thanks. I love to go with him...but he's basically in charge of everything and I'm just there to point at things and eat Froyo. LOL
Maybe I'll hit up Costco a week or 2 before my due date.

This is so me too. I'm freaking exhausted today and don't know how I'm going to make it another 8 days at work. It makes cry to think about. Hopefully the next few days will be energy surge days.

Lol, mine hates costco with a passion. He doesn't normally go. Except they had briquettes and potting soil on sale and I said I couldn't lift them.
Side note, if you need more than one cart at Costco, take the truck, not the Subaru.
