1. How far along are you this week? 14+6 today
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Still feeling really good but ironically more tired than in 1st trimester. I am telling my boss and team this week, so looking forward to having the cat out of the bag. My entire division at work is headed to Mexico next week for an offsite so people will no longer wonder what my "personal conflict" is.
3. Questions for the group? None right now
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was great! We had my husband's family over for brunch and shared the news - their reactions were so great and so surprised! My MIL has a habit of saying "I knew it all along" to any news, so we were expecting that and it was a pleasant and unexpected change when she admitted to actually being surprised. Now I'm enjoying spreading the news to friends!
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? I have two siblings and my husband has one; it is likely that none of them will have kids. My husband does have a cousin (who is like his little sister) - she lives 5 minutes away and is getting married this fall with kids planned shortly after. It makes me happy to know our daughter will likely have at least one cousin to grow up with.
I am also getting a little exhausted from the way he's moving in there. I'll wince in pain in a meeting or at dinner and someone will ask "is he kicking?" and I'm like "No he's barrel rolling and swinging from monkey bars." It's NOT a kick. It's crazy and super uncomfortable. I will miss it (only because I know this is our one and only) someday though, I know I will.

You will, but yes, it’s so uncomfortable. Dd used to do this thing where it felt like she somehow managed to ball up on one side of my stomach, then use her arms and legs to push out against my belly as hard as she could. Like she was literally trying to make more room. Sorry, kid. I’m petite with a short torso. You’re stuck with a studio space. There was no more real estate to be found. LOL

I remember the last weeks (months? I can’t remember the timing) I would lie in bed at night crying and begging the baby to stop because it hurt so much when he was moving. I did not miss that at all. But I did miss the stage I’m in now when kicks and other movements are just cute and exciting. Trying to enjoy it now because I know it will get much worse later
My baby is a little devil and he constantly just pushes his foot against my stomach and it hurts so much. So I’m always pushing back so he moves it but lately he just keeps doing it.
My bff was like after hearing your stories, I’m afraid to be pregnant. Haha. I’m just being honest and telling the truth!
I dont know WTF kid was doing today but I practically yelped in pain as I watched his foot/feet roll across my belly.
C was breech, so I had his head in my ribs all the time. Thing came out a little bit dented! He always wanted to sleep with his head touching the crib too, lol.
YES. DS1 was breech too so I never really felt much kicking with my first pregnancy. Mostly I felt a huge boulder digging into my bottom rib. Once he was born it seriously took a few weeks for him to be able to put his legs down and unfold.
This kid is not breech so far and at first I was like "oh-that's what normal kicking is like" but now he is like a karate master or something. It's no longer sweet. It hurts.

Yes to the legs! He had what we called a "feeding foot" that would slowly and involuntarily raise up when he was eating. Even in the NICU he'd get the feeding tube going and pop! Up came the foot. It was all you could see of him.
This one is a lot more active, and I look a lot bigger. I assume due to position, but he did have a breech phase as well. He has since flipped back to normal.

I'm beginning to wonder if the reason I was so uncomfortable yesterday is because he flipped breech. I hope not!

I actually dont really know when this one flipped either direction! Maybe back to head down because I was pretty uncomfortable a few days before my OB suspected he flipped but nothing definitive. With C I felt like I was on a roller coaster!
I don’t remember movement being so uncomfortable with DD as it is this time around. I think since I got bigger faster he’s got more room in there for gymnastics. Or maybe he’s just more active. Trying to enjoy it for what it is, but ouch!
My cafeteria lady apparently overheard me tell a colleague today that all I want to eat nowadays is a bowl full of watermelon because she just brought me an entire bowl of watermelon to my office.
I about burst into tears. It was the nicest sweetest thing anyone has done this entire pregnancy. Also....I really love watermelon.....
Oof. Looking at stuff for the addition at the home store and baby moved into some position that made it really uncomfortable to walk. That was fun! Also I've never had so many people ask if I need help!

I am currently doing the glucose test. That drink wasn’t too terrible to drink but now I feel so nauseous and gross. I am sleepy and contemplating napping. We do only a 2 hr test here instead of 1 then 3 so I don’t get blood drawn again until 11:20.

I wish we did this. Or I wish they would at least offer it up as an option. Good luck! Did you bring a snack to eat afterwards? The one hour wasn’t too bad for me, but I felt rough after the 3 hr (which I thankfully passed). I had a snack in the car before driving home, then I ate a high protein meal & took a nap. (Luckily it was the day before Christmas Eve & I had the day off.)

I did! I actually fell asleep (thank you jet lag) until 11:10 so the time flew by. She gave me this super comfy chair and it reclined. I had some fruit and water after and then a sandwich when I got home. It’s luckily a 10 min tram/walk from my house so I got back super quickly. I think I’m used to not eating a ton so it didn’t seem to impact me too much. I wasn’t that hungry but forced myself to eat the sandwich. I hope I pass!
Im glad I only have to do it 1 time with the 2 hr. They also don’t usually do the glucose test for everyone. Only if you had it before, you have diabetes in your immediate family, or you are of a descent that diabetes is more prevalent.
I’m at the hospital. My blood pressure was a little high at my apt this morning so they sent me to the hospital for monitoring. They are keeping me overnight. Blah.
There is a good chance they will encourage induction sometime next week. I’m full term at 37 weeks on Sunday so I’m not entirely opposed. My only panic is that they don’t want me back at work - they are okay with my working at home but don’t want me going in. Thankfully my task force person who is filling in for me is pretty ready...I just need a few days next week to get completely ready.

I hope everything is ok woowoo and your overnight isn’t too rough.
I was on the phone with a coworker last time about 10 minutes after my epidural went in. This was after my due date. Don’t be me. Things can wait. Relax and hopefully you make it to 37 weeks without issue.
At my first appointment my OB realized our birthdays are only a month apart and that if I'm AMA, the she is too if she wanted a third. Clearly had an not so internal freak out about it. When we left I told H she was going to be pregnant before I delivered this baby.
I went a lot earlier than I expected to with my first, and wasn't ready at work at all. I was sure I was going to go overdue, having been born 3 weeks late myself. I left work Friday night at 38+6 thinking I had another week or two to wrap things up... and then delivered at 5:10am Monday at barely 39+2. Sorry guys! H had to bring files that I had at home, back to my office for me. It felt rushed and disorganized, and I asked for my laptop in the hospital after I was in mother/baby to send a few emails, put up an out of office, etc., but it was ultimately fine. I have to keep reminding myself of that now, as I'm stressing about wrapping everything up (37+2, dropped, and contracting!).

woowoo I hope everything is ok. Don’t worry about work, they will figure it or no worked like crazy with my first and even made a call on my way to the hospital. It was not the best care of me. Take care of yourself and try to relax. Wishing you all the best!
Thanks everyone. I sent DH home for a bit (he's bringing back some sushi in a little while) so I could get some work done. Thankfully it's pretty quiet around here right now.

1. How far along are you this week? 38+1
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Spent an hour getting my blood pressure checked this morning at the hospital. I have had swelling in my feet for weeks, but today also in my hands and a bonus headache so went to get checked out. While it was elevated, they were not concerned. Also, baby has definitely dropped!
3. Questions for the group? When do they start checking for cervical progress? I am in the UK and have had no checks at all and it seems they don't really do that here?! I *think* I might might be offered a stretch and sweep (membrane stripping) at my next appointment (39+5)
4. How was your Mother's Day? We didn't celebrate, but we did for UK mother's day which was in March
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? Our baby will have so many cousins! 19 on my side and 5 on my husbands. The age range varies from 2.5 to 26, with only two being toddler age. He will likely be the youngest of all the cousins.
Repeating from ML since I’m so annoyed it has continued - I was up for 3 hours last night with contractions but they didn’t get closer than 6 minutes 🤦🏻♀️I thought for sure they would hit 5 min eventually since I was at 6min apart 1 min long for over an hour but no luck. I’m so uncomfortable with aches and prodromal labor 😔 plus being worried DH Will miss the birth is no fun.
Maybe the thunderstorm and sex and extra RRL tea will help ....
