I saw this trending on Twitter yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised the show is still airing new episodes.
I used to watch Arthur all the time when I was younger. My brother (he's turning 30 soon) really loved it. It was really funny and they had a lot of big guest stars. A lot of witty jokes with sly little winks to adults.
I read an article saying that Mr. Ratburn's husband owns a chocolate shop, which cracks me up because isn't Mr. Ratburn obsessed with eating cake? He married wisely.
OMG that was awesome! I was cheering for him too. <3
As for the OP, also <3 <3 <3 I saw it last night/this morning when I was surfing. I'm glad to see so much and so much better representation. Especially after the school board meeting yesterday for the neighboring district had turned into "don't teach about sex in the schools! That should be done at home!" in response to students supporting PRIDE month events in the high schools. (A "unity" group had posted for people to show and speak, which was posted on a community page, and both sides were gearing to go all-in. Thankfully, the Superintendent and board were notified and contacted the group to have them speak in a different group setting and not at yesterday's meeting. It still devolved into a "both sides" discussion of staff, parents and students, but at least it was peaceful rather than folks holding signs and stuff.) It's not the curriculum, bigots. It's a student-sponsored, teacher-mentored after-school club that's doing activities and showing support during free time and using non-offensive methods (my granddaughter's group did bracelets for Day of Silence to show who supported and in what matter, depending on the color of the bracelet. Don't want to be involved? Don't come to their table in The Commons before school to get a bracelet. Pretty simple. These groups are doing and supporting similar non-school related events.)

WTF? How is Pride about sex? Do they think every time kids mention hetero couples or straight marriage it's teaching sex in school? Are there no same sex families at the school? And why isn't it in the curriculum?

Exactly. You have no idea how many times I rage-typed in all caps GENDER IDENTITY IS NOT SEXUALITY! And others also responded "See, this is why we need to have PRIDE events in the schools still." Thankfully there was a huge groundswell of support for the events. The district contacted the "Unity" group and asked them to come for a private conversation rather than inundate the meeting with a lot of divisiveness.
