If the primaries were today, who would you choose? You can select up to four, but feel free to stop at fewer. I wanted to take the temperature of the board anonymously. Add any republicans or write ins below :-)
For me it's currently a toss up between Harris and Warren. I'm not unwilling to consider others (and certainly will vote for whomever is the nominee) but I really hope it is one of them. I don't even have a 3rd and 4th choice at the moment.
I took one of those quizzes recently where it asks you a bunch of questions and tells you who you most align with politically. Bernie was my top pick. I was so ashamed with myself.
My kiddo and I met Jay Inslee the other day. Nice guy. Not going to be president.
I imagine this field is going to wind up giving us some of our cabinet, assuming we win the White House. I can see Inslee heading up EPA.
Me too! He and his wife are both super nice.

We literally happened upon them in our neighborhood bookstore, where he was reading his children's book (something about elves). I had to take kid #2 to the bathroom so kid #1 -- who is barely 9-- walked right up to them and introduced himself. They talked about books and history and Inslee signed the cover of DS's manga book.

"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

I totally picked my unknown governor Steve Bullock (well after Harris and Warren). I like him a lot as a Dem in a GOP-dominated Senate/House state, but he has no chance in the primary. I am not sure his end game. I almost asked him when I was talking with him and his wife at a race this past weekend, but we were keeping it about the race and I thought it would be awkward to be all, "So Steve, what is your end game for jumping in the race for 2020? Are you thinking VP to someone else who is more liberal and known?" I don't know him well enough to do that, but I am tempted to ask a friend who does know and work with him.

He knows this, I'm sure. He's the less adorable and less appealing Tim Kaine. He just wants to make sure the environment is front and center while he has a chance. He's termed out so he can't run for governor. This is his big shot. And to maybe get a Cabinet position.
I am all in for Warren, but my dark horse is Yang. I haven't really dug in deep for him because he is so unlikely to get anywhere, but all of his policy ideas resonate with me - the "Human Centered Capitalism" is my jam. Probably too idealistic, but, I dunno, there has to be an ultimate goal, right? I know that it bothers people that non politicians jump into the BIG race as their first shot, but I am less concerned with that - He went to law school/was a lawyer before starting businesses, so, at least he understands the law.

I have concerns with his stance against circumcision. I don't understand why there's a policy position on this issue and it makes me nervous.

It almost seems like he puts up a policy position one whatever he is asked about...I mean, there is one about MMA fighters. lol
Which, honestly, I don't hate. We have all opinions on many issues, and if wants to let people know where he stands, its okay with me. I am annoyed when I find a candidate who is great on one or two issues, but either hasn't seemed to think about anything else or the don't want to vocalize what they think or they have bat shit crazy ideas. I mean, maybe other people think Ynag's ideas on all the policy positions he has listed are bat shit crazy, and that's okay. I know he won't go far, but I wouldn't hate it if he pushed the UBI idea along a bit more
I cannot comprehend someone picking Frackenlooper.
Lololol! I picked him as number 4 but only because I heard his PSA interview recently and (once I stopped rolling my eyes) I found I really related to him and liked his approach to renewable energy and jobs. But I also realize that’s like a VERY specific Colorado demographic - lol. He should totally run for governor, though
