Post what you are shopping for. I need recs for a desk and a bookcase for a girls room (age 6). Eventually we might want to get her a loft bed, but we would want a bigger one more for teenage years, so I don’t think she is ready yet for that.
I’m hosting a 40th birthday party for two friends at a restaurant on Saturday night and need something to wear. It’s casual cocktail dress level, not rent the runway level. I think I may stop by Nordstrom or Loft or someplace tomorrow. I also plan to try on everything in my closet to see if I have anything that will work.
We did an IKEA desk as well and added a set of under desk drawers. Hers is the one that’s a board top, two legs on one end and the drawers support the other end.
I wish we would have spent $$$ on a wooden loft when the kids were small as it would have seemed worth it.
I’m looking for natural fiber (brown) window treatments for the dining room (bay) and front living room (tall pair). Desperate to replace the 70s curtains.
DD wants seamless underwear for her b-day in a size kids small. I found years ago a set in XS and she is loving them under her leggings. The cotton undies from Gymboree are bunching in really bad places so don't look great with tight leggings she says she gets a bubble butt.
waverly, we have this from IKEA www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30180504/ we set it up in the dinning area and have it folded down when not in use. I like it for small spaces and works great for an extra counter or a desk for homework.
I need dress pants for work that are comfortable and flattering. For once in my life, dryclean only isn't an issue, since starting next month, we get free drycleaning.
We got our blinds from the Shade Store. They work with Room and Board. It was $$$$ though and I feel like there are cheaper options out there. I really like my dining room blinds but not the living room ones because the installer decided to make them “easier” and split the pull sides. I would prefer the pull side to be uniform.
2chatter we have some slightly strange fabric blinds, but they're whitish/beige so kind of go with anything. We're having a guy install custom shelving in our living room now, and once that's in, I plan to pay Modsy for some design advice, in part because I want them to tell me which curtains would look good (we'll be leaving the blinds in place as well).
sdlaura , jsut a heads up - Modsy doesn't do curtains or window treatments.
OK, sounds like I'm letting them pick furniture and a rug (they do that, right?) and then once I have a color scheme I'll pick curtains Thanks for the heads up!

DS1 (6) and my niece (11) both have the Micke desk from Ikea with the add-on unit. There seems to be enough space for homework and when they need to spread out for a big project they go to the kitchen table. Both really like the magnet/white board on the hutch unit.
Where do you guys shop for window treatments? I want to actually see and touch things.
DH likes heavy - like full on wood shutters - where I am trying to lighten things. I love seeing the trees and natural light - we rarely close the curtains. But we do need to have something we CAN close to keep the dogs from apprehending and barking at every person walking by when they are in a certain mood and crated and I am taking work calls. Sheers work in our room so they don’t have to be entirely opaque.

2chatter, the last few times I've purchased curtains was at Lowes since I like to see them in person. Probably not the biggest selection, but prices are usually pretty good.

186momx, a gift card for something. I just bought my niece a carnival pass for our county fair coming up. I've also given her gift cards to a local ice cream parlor. Experiences are always good.

Check out the Rekucci ones on amazon. Stretchy but look nice and comfy. I have several pairs and there are thousands of reviews.
sdlaura - they are so heavy, I hate them!! I’m finally motivated to clean this up, but DH wants wood blinds and I .... don’t. Ugh.
I love my white wood blinds. We actually only have 2 curtains in our house and I like it even more than I thought I would. They were there when we bought it.

iTunes gift card. Ds is 7 and always puts this on his list so he can buy apps and games and stuff I’m not willing to pay for.

Amazon tells me I’ve bought 3 pairs and returned them. I can’t tell you why though.
