I'm annoyed. DH thinks we need to sign up the kid for a sport this summer (I don't, but whatever). I texted him this morning if he has a preference between tball and tennis, since those are the 2 realistic options through the local parks & rec.
He thinks we need to discuss in person.
WTF dude. What could we possibly have to discuss about this. She's 5. We're not committing her to this sport forever, whichever we choose.
In that case, I would say, "ok, great, we can talk about it in person and you can handle signing her up." There's no reason for you to take this on if you're not the one who wants her in a sport. Let him bring it up and handle the sign up.

DH got his V yesterday - and poor thing, I feel bad. It took two hours. The first part was done quickly and easily, but then when the doc went to try and get the second tube/vas, he couldn't get it to the surface easily and it took him SO LONG to get it. He spent a good half hour rooting around (with his fingers, not with tools or anything) trying to get it. He let DH rest a bit and when he left the room DH broke down crying. He pulled it together and when he came back in it went smoothly again, but OMG. He's being a trooper, though, and has been resting/icing since yesterday afternoon.

I actually already had signed her up for tennis because it took him like 2 hrs to respond to my text. If he wants tball instead he can handle that.

Related to my vent in the regular randoms, but when I walked in the house and saw the kitchen and was like "Ohgodnocan'tcope" my eldest pitched in without complaint - let the dogs out, fed them, unloaded the dishwasher, etc.
Thank jeebus he's hit the useful phase of childhood.
Now if only my husband would hit the useful phase of adulthood... *glares in German*

Do they not numb them!?!?
Oh no, he was numb. He just got man-handled enough that he was sore and also had had such an adrenaline high that he was anxious and emotional. He had even had a Valium. DH is not a good patient, haha.

We haven't done t-ball but, at least in my area, the schedule for tennis is significantly better than t-ball, which has 2 weeknight games/practices each week with the occasional 3rd, at rotating times. I hear it's fun but the schedule is awful. So, good choice!

This is always the worst response when I send DH a question. Just pick one of the choices, say yes, whatever!

Poor guy. Still better than pregnancy and childbirth though!

That is an intense tball schedule. Our tball is one practice during the week and one game on Saturday. All practice at the same time. We dont get into two night practice until AA (2/3rd grade)

Yeah, my poor H gets pretty much zero sympathy from me on medical stuff now. He had a small cyst removed from his neck recently and was trying to explain to me how weird it was for him to feel the doctor pushing and pulling around on it but not feel pain because he was numb. I was like, "Dude, you do remember that I had a c-section four months ago, right? So, yes, I am very familiar with that feeling." LOL.
DD was home sick today. She finally got the cold that H and I had over the last couple weeks.
Unfortunately it's just a head cold so she doesn't want to just sit and watch TV, which is what her body really needs. When I told her I was sorry she wasn't feeling well she said "I wish I were at school."
Big, HUGE rant: I miss the days of littles. The high schooler is not doing school work, going wherever she wants, taking my stuff, left her laptop"with a friend so it's not my fault" that her school laptop was left out in a school hallway and the screen got shattered and needs to be repaired...and according to others I should expect a charge in the neighborhood of $450 for the repair.
That's only bits and pieces of the headaches I've been dealing with.
My husband forgot to request off the days we were planning as a vacation for him. He wanted to the the mountains or beach as a family, I wanted to go to Florida for my grandma's 95th birthday. (I was okay with not going, since we visited a month ago instead so he could see his snowbird Grandma on the same trip).
If he can't get his shit together, I'm going to Florida with the kids. I'm going be to be up upset if we miss out on a family vacation because of this.
Talking about tball, I purposefully signed my 6 year old for a league to was suppose to be on the weekdays. Half her games are Friday nights and we out of town. Of the 7 scheduled games, she can play in 3. I am tempted to take her out of the league because I made an assumption they were on Tuesday and Thursday. Ugh
