I’m so sorry. It took mine a few years for the pain to stop fully but it was incorrectly diagnosed at the start. They do have lidocaine patches that might help.
For those that have not had it, there are vaccines. Insurance usually only covers it if you are over 50 but you could try.

Curious if you took an antiviral when you had the outbreak? The doctor told me yesterday the Valtrex should reduce the risk of that lingering neuropathy.
So far it is still just that small patch that I posted. I really feel for people who have had large rashes because that one small area packs a lot of punch! Advil is keeping the throbbing at bay though, and i was able to teach my kickboxing class this AM. I had a sub lined up just in case.

I did but it was late, about a week after it showed up. I didn’t get the classic rash so it took a couple doctor to believe me.
I have had shingles and it and was so very painful. It took weeks to diagnosis as the first doctor just thought it was a random rash. Once I had some Valtrex and used the creams it took about a week to clear up. It started on the back of my neck and went very close to my eyes.
